Ordered takeout to celebrate a homecoming after 3 long years and the birth of a baby. Chuy's used to be our go-to for celebrations. We chose curbside delivery because of said newborn. We made sure to tip generously in advance to ensure no mistakes. Although with their website ordering, there are no allowances for special instructions, so this should make ordering mistake-proof. We were wrong. We ordered four basic meals, and three needed to be corrected. All the sides for three of them were missing. The one with the sides looked day old and lifeless. They were over-salted as if to bring some life back. The portions were meager and ice-cold. We ordered chips and dip to go. The two salsas were over-salted and looked day old and foamy. We received two ranch dressings instead of queso dip. The restaurant was hopping when we picked up our order immediately after ordering. We live just minutes away, so there is no excuse for ice-cold food. For the amount of money spent, we were vastly disappointed. This dampened the mood of our happy get-together. We all had been looking forward to some good food. All we got were upset stomachs, and the majority of the little amount of food ended up in the trash. Never again, Chuy's. read more

Chuy's is a pleasant family friendly restaurant that serves Tex-Mex style food. The staff is energetic with a pep in their step. The decor is confused, 60's, 80's, abstract art, celebrity portraits and car parts just kind of thrown in the mix. The creamy jalapeño dip is a pleasant mix of smooth and spicy. I ordered the Elvis Presley fried chicken with the Boom Boom sauce and a fried egg, the sauce was good however the chicken and egg was over cooked and chewy. Being an EX Houston resident and now living in Tulsa, I have come to know not to trust any restaurant that calls itself a Tex-Mex in the Tulsa area. Chuy's was actually pretty good though, not up to the quality of Lopez in Houston but hands over fist better than "Teds" which happens to be the worse Tex-Mex I have ever eaten at. I had the Taco salad with Fajita beef, excellent choice Wide had the Beef Fajita's which she would recommend as well.. Their Ice tea was weak and needs to be improved. My all time favorite place to eat Mexican food. If you are a chili relleno fan, they have the best! They make them crispy and stuffed! Shrimp rellenos smothered in boom boom sauce (a spicy queso) it's like crack be careful you will crave it, it's My favorite ! All of the food I've tried here is excellent. They make their tortillas in house and is worth coming back for again and again. I lived in a Texas for a short while in the 90's and Chuy's was by far my favorite Tex-Mex restaurant. They have now franchised and the quality of their flagship stores have not followed over to their new stores. I do love their light tortilla chips and the jalapeño ranch dipping sauce. The fresh hot tortillas are the best and they have a great margarita menu. I give 3 stars because the salsa is hot as hell and they have no mild option. I come here often. I come at least 1 or 2 times a week! Yesterday I sat in the booths in the bar area and my server was the bartender! HORRIBLE service. She visited our table 2 times. Other employees had to help us and a lot of the time we were out of salsa, drinks, and chips. My family decided since it was Cinco de Mayo we would order Chuy's to go. We put the order in and went to pick it up. We waited for 2 hours and didn't get our food. Every time we would see someone we would flag someone down and ask how much longer or asked to make sure they had our order they would say let me go check and never return. I understand that restaurants just opened from the virus plus being cinco de Mayo and I'm sure running on short staff but there is no reason to leave a customer hanging. We were not the only ones not getting our orders. There were multiple people there who had been waiting just as long. There was word that maybe the site got overloaded and crashed but if that is the case you should offer your customers a refund or something in return. Our order wasn't big. It was only 6 tacos. There was no way to grab someone to cancel the order so we ended up just leaving. I hope we can go back one day and I can give a better review but today was not a good day for Chuy's. I tend to be a pretty understanding person but not ever coming back to give someone an update on their order is horrible service. read more

This is my favorite restaurant. Doesn't matter what kind of mood I'm in. Their taco salad is the best hands down. I usually order it with Elvis fried chicken, but it's also amazing with grilled chicken, shrimp, steak or taco hamburger meat. Their tortilla soup is great if you want soup. Fajitas or Quesadillas are a great choice too. The customer service at this restaurant is amazing. Managers always on site, and will visit your table. First off -- this was my first ever visit to a Chuy's and the food was a-maz-ing. I ordered the Chuychanga with green chili sauce and it was SO delicious! The lime blended margaritas were also really good!! But here is the best part - The service was incredible! We came in with 11 ladies on a Wednesday night, many Chuy's first timers from out of town. Amy was our server and did a great job! Our hotel had provided us with coupons when we checked in for a free queso - but it didn't mention how many we could get, so we asked! A few minutes later, out came the manager with 5 bowls of queso for our table (and that queso was delicious). A few minutes later a server came out with a few bowls of guacamole - we told her we hadn't ordered any and she came back and said they were compliments of the manager! Heck. Yes. Guacamole speaks to my soul lol. All of our food was great, and service was quick - drinks and margaritas were refilled in a very timely manner! The manager came to check on us to make sure everything was going well every so often too and was very personable and asked where we all from and chatted briefly but naturally - very friendly! I wish i had gotten his name! We all requested separate checks and Amy didn't bat an eye - they also have a military discount which is always a plus in my book - in the end we all walked away from our evening with full, satisfied bellies and an impression of what great customer service looks like! We wanted to try and eat at 10:15 last night, choices are slim at that time. Went to Ted's first because we were familiar with it. They were closed. Decided to try Chuys, OMG......so glad Ted's was closed. The best Mexican food I've had atleast in Oklahoma anyway....ever. Chloe, our server had the happiest, bubbliest personality I've ever seen in a server. Usually when you walk in 30 minutes before closing people are a little more than disturbed, not the staff here, the manager came out to greet us after we'd are because it was our first time eating there, she was a delight as well. All the variety and choices of sauces they have allows you to customize your food the way you want, not the way the restaurant thinks you should have it. The salsa you can tell is made from scratch. We love this place! It reminds us of being back in Texas. The food is very consistent, and the service is always great. My favorite thing to get is the stacked enchiladas with boom boom sauce. Sometimes the pool or shredded chicken is really tough, and that kind of ruins things. But all in all I appreciate that they have the happy hour nacho car as well as really great drinks. I've been told this place was amazing so thought to finally try it out. I've been once before before Covid and full menu was available. Only ordered food for kiddo and she thought the quesadilla was ok. Second time came during Covid and menu was limited. That's ok. Ordered soft fajita chicken tacos. The tortillas was amazing but the chicken reminded me of the super processed fake chicken meat strips in a frozen bag at the grocery store. No flavor. The guacamole was a small serving but amazing. However my biggest complaint was the house margarita on the rocks. Horrible. They barely shook the drink and it separated quickly. There was no orange slight flavor at all and tasted like straight sweet and sour minus the sweet. My throat was immediately sizzling from the drink mix and hard to drink. At first thought I was just experiencing acid reflux so I ordered another and same thing. I love margaritas and love to try at all restaurants. This was the worst margarita I've had I. The Tulsa and surrounding area. Not worth the price and even if cheap I still would never order again nor ever recommend. Generally in my opinion if the house margarita is good I usually upgrade to the top shelf as a good indicator of taste. I don't know how anyone was drinking these and go there for these. Odd. Lunch here yesterday ruined Chuy's for me. I love Mexican, TexMex, and New Mexican cuisine but ... something was off the chart spicy. I had the stack enchilada, the Friday special. My mouth was literally burning. Was it the salsa before the meal? Yes it was spicy. Was it the creamy jalepeno? It didn't taste that spicy to me. I didn't eat my beans: barely tasted them. It was the rice of all things, where the spice was coming from! In that case it wouldn't have mattered what I ordered-- it's all very spicy with no choice of spice level. (At Thai places they at least have you order a spice level 1-5. No choice here! ... And in addition... I was sick for 18 hours afterward. Goodbye Chuy's! read more

My fiancé and I love Chuys, this is our 'go-to' restaurant. We always get the queso with tortillas to start. The queso is our favorite in Tulsa! My fiancé always gets the Elvis Presley and I get the Classic Tex-Mex cheese enchiladas. It's to die for! The managers there are great, with fun wait staff! The atmosphere is fun as well! Also don't forget about the weekdays Monday- Thursday 4-7 they offer the salsa/queso bar for FREE!!! If you haven't been here you need to go, you will be craving it in no time!
