In a tee-pee. This place is fantastic, if you need to get away for a long weekend or even an extended break - because while they have standard accommodation in student, backpacker style dorm rooms with powershowers and fully fitted kitchens, they also provide a camping area for tents, and more importantly they have several authentic tee-pees. These things are not just for show, they are real, and built in almost the same way as native americans build theirs. There were 5 of us staying in one of the tee-pees, and it's fantastic. They are large, with comfortable sleep mats for your sleeping bags, and plenty of room. If you need the loo in the middle of the night, that can be tricky since you have to walk back into the main building, but if you're lucky and it's a clear night with a full moon, you'll have no problems finding your way. It was so much fun - and that was just the tee-pees. On saturday nights the lodge organises a barbeque for all the guests, with a selection of meat and fresh fish, often caught that day from the local town, Sennen. There are loads of things to do - Sennen Beach is a long, beautiful sandy beach with some of the best surfing in the UK. Land's End, the west-most point of England, is only a half hour walk away from the camping ground, and passing back through Sennen on the return leg you can stop for some authentic Cornish Cream Tea. There is a good pub a short distance south from the Lodge, with live music and great company. Everyone is so friendly and everything feels so fresh. Check out the photos for this place, the description that I've given hardly does it justice. I highly recommend that if you're looking for some way of relaxing for a few days, get down to Whitesands Lodge, take your sleeping bag and a few friends, and leave everything else behind.

The owners and staff could not do enough for you; the room we stayed in was fantastic with views over Lands End and the surrounding coast. It is lovely inside and very romantic and perfect for two people. There is a big kitchen which has everything you could need, and they also leave a pint of fresh milk in the fridge which is a really kind gesture. There is a huge shower (no bath) and towels are supplied. Also a TV with Sky and free wifi. I would only recommend a stay here if you have a car because there isn't anything nearby, and if you plan to cook here then it's best to stop off at a supermarket in Falmouth or the other main towns. I enjoyed my stay here and loved how peaceful it was at night. My only complaint (and I am fussy...) is that the pillows were way to soft to sleep on. I normally bring my own (yup - a little bit odd!) but forgot this time and it did have a impact on how well I slept.

The rooms were spotless and cleaned daily, the towels were fluffy and soft.we had a short stay there in 2007. they offer B&B andB&BEM the choice is yours, all meals we haqd was top quality. the people who owned it were lovely. the only downside isthe area can be busy with young people. Within minutes Debbie had us in our room and settled. It is a 3 room boutique style B&B in a lovely house right in the midst of St. Ives down on the harbour. It is a short 5 minute walk from the train station. Our room had a spectacular view of the harbour, and the sunrise the following morning. It was truly a million dollar view. The bed was beyond comfortable with fantastic pillows and bedding. The room was well equipped with a mini fridge, tea and coffee, and a modern en-suite bathroom. The breakfast room was bright and spacious, with a fantastic view of St. Ives harbour to inspire you to get out and enjoy the fresh sea air. Breakfast had a good variety of choice with fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurt and a choice of fry up. The bread used for the toast has to be mentioned so yummy and such nice thick slices. Debbie and Carl our hosts were lovely, very welcoming and professional.

In fact it's probably all of the above, knowing the typical British holidaymaker. They eat Bacon, then they go Bacon themselves in the sun. Or, more often, the rain and grey clouds. In the 1980s, when I was a tiny kid, my mother and her friend (the wife of a rival bicycle shop owner... my Dad also owned one) brought me here, to Porth just outside Newquay. They had bikes, and they took the bikes on the train. Down through Bristol, Newton Abbot, Par... eventually to Newquay and then we cycled to Porth. We found this lovely campground and made some great memories, which usually involved my mother being drunk. But I remember the lovely town, the lovely windy hilly roads, the gorgeous beach, and the lovely racist British people we holidayed with. Newquay remains one of my favourite places and I've been back here many times, but I haven't stayed at this campground since. I've just looked in on it many times, and it's smaller than it used to seem, but as lovely as ever. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to camp down in Cornwall. And this is review #1987 because that was roughly the year I first came here as a kid, give or take 5 years. And luckily there are no naked people doing it on camera here, otherwise it'd be Porn Beach... and would be way more popular with a totally different crowd.

Has electric hook up with very competitive prices and always gets busy so book early if your thinking of visiting. Facilities are toilets, showers, baby bath, washing up area. All these are very clean, the shower rooms are the best I have come across in the years of camping. No pool on site but is a play park for the children. However, Porth beach is just a throw away across the road, which is clean and lovely family beach. Porth also has static caravans which are also great value and very clean. Excellent service from staff and not a problem in the last 4 years that I have stayed on the campsite. And find location very good even into the town of Newquay only a short distanced walk.

We've been in Cornwall before but didn't have time for Land's End. This time around we made sure to…read morevisit. Came here a little before lunchtime. Busy, but not too busy. Still plenty of parking left. It was a nice, sunny, picture-perfect day. There is no entrance fee for Land's End. Just the fixed fair priced parking rate. I've read many reviews stating that Land's End became like a theme park, a circus. And I would say that's too harsh. Yes, there are shops, selling lots of souvenirs and touristy stuff. There are games, attractions too. But there are some fun items to be found in the shops. We bought some, we had fun. And there are several food options. Some stalls for a quick bit or a sit-down restaurant with more options. We just grabbed some cornish pasty and a seat outside. And if you're not interested in the museums and the attractions then just skip them. Because Land's End is well worth a visit for the views and the walks. The SW Coast path is just behind the village. Views are spectacular. Walk north toward the "First & Last House" and keep walking along the coast. Or choose to go south from the village. We tried out both. But ended up walking longer on the path going south. Lots of wonderful photo ops, amazing views of the coastline. And not that many walkers even along the way. Would recommend at least sneakers (and not Flip-Flops as we've seen). All in all a very nice visit. Pet-friendly as well! Surely a must-do when in Cornwall if you've never been.

Excellent speedy service, very friendly and welcoming. Tables outside mostly so best for good weather refreshments. Selection of bread based food (paninis and bagettes and home baked pasties) and good hot and cold drinks - nice Americano with hot milk in separate pot. Good cakes too and ice cream. Selection of trinkets and tasteful beachy type gifts and oddments and some clothing on sale - good selection of post cards. Reasonable prices, but not cheap.
