This was our 3rd stay at the Manoir du Quesnay (twice as a couple and once with our two girls)…read more Jacques and Alix run a world-class B&B. The Manoir has several rooms in the main house as well as several more in the "boat house". Its location is perfect to visit all of the northern coast sites and is easy to find. The staff is very efficient and quality oriented. Everything in and around the Manoir is clean and well kept. On several occasions I have asked for restaurant recommendations and every time we have been very impressed with the food. I can say that Jacques and Alix are always prepared to provide recommendations for a day trip, all of the details and even make reservations for you if recquired. Just minutes to the town of Bayeux (and the famous Tapestry) or all of the Normandy WW2 sites/Museums/Cemeteries. Easy Drive to Mont St. Michael and the beautiful coast of norther France. Just ask Jacques and he will gladly be your tour designer, answering questions, providing historical context, providing maps, making great suggestions, etc. If you are a Band of Brothers fan, you are very close to all the key areas of the 101st airborne activities from D-Day (episodes 2 and 3). Carentan and Brecourt Manor are just a short drive away. There is also a number of monuments and museums that honor those great men. If you are a fan of Saving Private Ryan then you have all of the cities and sights all within easy reach. The opening and closing scene were shot in the American cemetery in Coleville. An absolute must see. I cannot say enough about how much we love staying at this B&B. I do not think you can find a better combination of location, quality and people anywhere in France. This is a must stay if you are headed north of Paris.

I wasn't expecting much because it was a very reasonably priced hotel but the room was excellent…read more It was extremely clean with some nice furniture. The breakfast is also very good, with a great choice, despite having to ask for a few dirty cups to be changed. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the town centre so it's great even without own transport. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, although we had no real cause to call upon them. The car park is very small and tight, so it is often difficult to park. Unfortunately the 'free wireless' had zero reception in the hotel room and even in the hotel bar I could get connected but not through to the Internet. Although there are small flat TVs in the rooms, the channel selection is limited to the main terrestrial channels and a slim choice of others. Although the bathroom was clean, the hotel towels are miniscule and the thread count is almost zero. The shower suffered from an extreme lack of pressure and went cold every time somebody flushed a toilet anywhere in the hotel! Our room was at the rear of the hotel and because there was no air conditioning, we had the window open, which was very noisy in the morning because it was adjacent to a supermarket. Overall, despite the minor negative points, we'd definitely stay again because of the cleanliness, good food and good service at a very good price.

St. Helier's lively harbour area is also just a 15 minute walk away. There are 42 modern hotel rooms all of which are decorated to a high standard. We have a mixture of twin, double, family and single rooms each with a flat-screen TV, seating area plus tea and coffee making facilities. There are also 15 Premier and Superior rooms which are equipped with additional facilities including a hairdryer. The hotel boasts a superb bar which leads on to the seasonal outdoor swimming pool. So treat yourself to a Cocktail, Glass of Wine, Soft Drink or a cold beer and relax on our sun terrace by the swimming pool. In the evening and we hope that you will come to our Restaurant which offers a four course table d'hôte menu which changes each night. Christo's restaurant menus feature fresh cuisine, high quality steak and local seafood.

I can recommend this lovely place in Normandy to all my friends. It is situated at not yet 20…read moreminutes cycling from the coast and at a short drive from many historical places you ought to visit. The welcoming by Marc and Laurence was warm and friendly and I should not forget Oscar, the very clever and kind dog who watches over the premises. We felt very safe. The rooms are spacious, clean and cosy. They have a double and single bed. There is a separate common room that serves as a kitchen and there is a little fridge and microwave you can use. Perfect if you want to have your lunch or dinner "at home". In the morning you get served breakfast: coffee, tea, fresh made apple juice and a choice of home made jam you can add to the typical French bread we love so much. If you are still hungry you can treat yourself on the typical Norman cake. While having breakfast Marc will reveal you some interesting topics of the history or give you tips and advice of places you should not miss. This is why we went to Bayeux to visit the tapestry with the history of William the Conqueror and Harold the betrayer. If Marc wouldn't be running a little farm and guesthouses, he sure would be a guide or a history teacher. Laurence is a lovely host, friendly and kind. We really felt at home the moment we set foot in that lovely garden. I loved the flowers, the roses... everything breathed hospitality. The lovely garden was inviting and so we ended up several evenings with the other guests to spend a nice evening together. I sure would love to go back again... rather sooner then later. We feel lucky to have picked out this B&B. It must have been good fate. Price/quality it is a really good deal. Best way to make a reservation is to write them an email. They manage English enough to help you out.
