There is a laundromat 5 min drive and a supermarket a quick 5-10 min walk from the hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean and comfortable. The price is quite reasonable. The breakfast is inexpensive and offers a selection of fresh yogurts, cheeses, jams, hams, breads, etc. Coffee is excellent. Many juices and some fruit as well. The reception is very helpful with advice on the area, places to visit, shop, laundry, etc. Their English is clear and far better than my French. Also, the wifi is strong and fast.

The rug was gritty, and there was a set of stains on the blanket that was indicative of a previous sexual encounter. 2) The hallways were always dark, even in the daytime. You had to press a light switch to see where you were going, and the light timed out after a couple minutes. If you were caught by the sudden darkness, you had to fumble your way to the light switch, which wasn't lit. 3) The shower setup was such that you were continually pushing against the metal hose while standing under the shower head. 4) The room was so tiny, that two people had to squeeze past each other when moving around. 5) The person cleaning up the breakfast tables took the unused packets of butter from one table, and returned the butter to the general bin. All that put together makes for a not-so-warm-and-fuzzy feeling, which is not what you want when staying in a strange place for the night.

The room is small and the bathroom is tight for a 6 foot ,180 pound man. But it works. Checkin is via machine on the outside of the building. However someone did notice my confusion and came out and checked me in. A couple of mornings , some people got up at 4AM and I found the walls and floors to not stop the sound of some very noisy people. Overall I did not hear much else. No road noise or TVs. The 5 Euro breakfast was basic. Three types of bread, some jam, two selections of cereal , some yogurt , coffee and thin juices. And apple sauce. There are other hotels near also but this one worked for me since I did not spend very much time in the room. For what it is I would rate a 4 star but I would not want someone to expect too much so I put a 3.

The view is stunning, and there is even a pool just for dipping. The bar experience was amusing, in that the bartender wrote everyone's order in an old school memo pad and had you write your room number. The rooms are a perfect marriage of traditional and modern. The rooms boast original hardware and ornate details from 300-400 years ago. The restaurant is tucked away in the bottom floor of the main building. You can either walk down the stairs or walk around the building. The breakfast had plenty to offer...fresh fruits, charcuterie, fresh breads, egg options, sausage, bacon, yogurt and more. Dinner was a delicious experience. This place is perfect if you're wanting to break away from busy and enjoy the French countryside.

The staff here are just fantastic, particularly Vincent in the dining room. His knowledge of wines and local producers is invaluable. Oh, almost forgot - this restaurant is in a magnificent chateau (or rather a castle). As I type this I don't know whether it is being placed as a review of a restaurant or hotel, but the chateau is incredible.
