I need to put a disclaimer at the front of this review: I think this is one of the best places on earth. I've stayed here four times. My wife and I loved it so much, we got married here. Château de Lartigolle is amazing. It's a massive, grand stone building, with corner towers, overlooking the fertile fields of the Gers region of France. It's quiet and immense and beautiful. It's been handed 'round French nobility for who knows how long. It was occupied by Nazis during WWII. Now, Nick, Emma and Chris run it as a luxury place to stay. We fell in love as soon as we drove down the lane and saw the gates and the courtyard. I'll upload some pics, which tell more than my words could, but still fall short. Also, look at their own web page link above, it showcases the place very well. The chateau can cater to whatever type of stay you want. They have 10 rooms, all fabulously luxurious and completely unique. Some of the bathrooms, nestled in the corner turrets, have to be seen to be believed. One room is a large dorm, great for several kids or single people. There's a massive and well-appointed kitchen if you want to self-cater your stay. They make amazing food, too, so you can have them cater every meal if you want the full luxury treat. The rest of the rooms in the chateau are great for relaxing, with sofas, chairs, a snooker table, and a TV/kids room. There's an honor bar, a brand salon, table tennis and boules outside in the courtyard. There's a pool and a tennis court outside, too. The historic and market town of Auch is nearby, and Toulouse is only 90 minutes away. There are some phenomenal restaurants nearby that the hosts can recommend. This is the least populated part of France, so you can really do as little as you want, and we often just stay at the chateau, drink wine, and relax. The big event was when, in September 2007, we hired the entire place out for a week and got married there. I'd go on for pages if I tried to describe that. Nick, Emma, and Chris do several weddings and other events a year, and they can really deliver. They can deliver all the food, flowers, photographers, tables, everything. Nick and Emma used to work in the design industry in London, and have impeccable taste. We loved everything they did for us. It went way beyond all of our expectations for our wedding, and we'll treasure it forever. I think that the majority of their income is from hosting large events like this, and from June to September they pretty much reserve the place for these sorts of sole bookings. They do get lots of weekend visitors from well-to-do English parents visiting their children in the nearby Sauveterre school when classes are on. It is a luxury place, and so the rates for single nights in the off-season (let alone booking it for a week) aren't cheap. But they're less than you'd pay for a downtown hotel in London or Paris, and orders of magnitude better than either, in my opinion. If you're near Toulouse, go here and spoil yourself. The owners really are the best part of the place. They're wonderful people, and will do anything to make your stay the best they can. If you do go, please, please make sure to tell them I sent you. read more
The other review, a Qype import from back in 2008, is me as well. My 5-star review stands, all these years later. My wife and I have been pack to Lartifolle a few times over the years, and were just here in October 2017. It's as fantastic as ever: gorgeous, relaxing, a magical place to have an event. And it's run by amazing people with really lovely, long-term staff. It's still one of the best places on earth. read more

We also got married at Lartigolle last July 2010. I don't even know where to begin in explaining just what a beautiful, magical, wonderful place this is. As mentioned in the review above what really makes it so special is the owners, Nick, Emma and Chris. They are such lovely, welcoming accomodating people and are natural hosts. Nothing is too much trouble for them but they also allow you the feeling that the Chateau is 'yours' while you are there, and, as such, stay in the background unless you need them. I can't even begin to describe how perfect our wedding itself was. The flowers arranged by Emma - perfect, the food - amazing (5* restaurant standard, a million miles away from usual wedding food), the setting - well the pictures on the website speak for themselves, although I can honestly say that the reality actually surpasses these. Every detail was thought of, right down to the lovely housekeeper making up the wedding suite to its beautiful original state for when we returned to it - rather than the whirlwind I'd left it in after getting ready there! We had our meal down in the beautiful vaulted cellars, lit by candles and a welcome cool relief from the harsh afternoon sun. We then danced until dawn under the stars and the canopy of fairy lights on the gorgeous vintage carpets. If I could have one wish it would be that we could repeat the day all over again. However if you are looking to visit Lartigolle for a week or weekend rather than a wedding I have to say that my favourite moment of our whole time there was the evening we arrived there, just my husband to be and I. The chateau was empty apart from us, we were welcomed by the lovely Emma and Nick who rustled us up a platter of french meats, cheeses, olives etc... and a cold bottle of the crisp local white wine and we sat there together in the front courtyard as the sun went down just soaking up the atmosphere of this truly amazing place, listening to the silence of the rolling fields around us. The stress of the lead up to the wedding and the day to day stress of living and working in London just drained away from us and we just looked at each other and wondered if life could get any more perfect than this! read more
