Hanging out here with Wifey after lunch. This place is located on the second floor of Shangrila Mall. This place is clean and in the center of several high end shops. We ordered Pomelo and Red Grape smoothie. The pomelo smoothie is served on a tall slim glass. No sugar added. Soooo gooood and deliciously mixed. The red grape is also served on the same type of glass. No sugar added. It's deliciously made. Serving staff are helpful and courteous.

Located in the middle of the mall on the second floor.

Oh Cibo! Why can't we have one of you in Los Angeles. From what my cousin tells tells me, this place has many locations. This location in particular is located in the middle of the mall. The story that I remember it being in front of is Aldo. One of my cousins loves Italian food so Cibo is one of the go to spots that they go to when they are out. Coming from Los Angeles, I don't particularly like "mall" food, but I must say I was surprised by Cibo. 1. Service- 4 Stars- the Philippines is k own for their hospitality and that is exactly what we receive. Since this location is located in the mall. We sat ourselves, but it did not take long for one of the waiters to come by and greet us and brought us menus. I believe our waiter's name was Kirby... I'm sorry if I missed heard his name... he was super nice. What I liked about the service is that Kirby asked if we received everything we ordered. Back home in Los Angeles we don't get asked that question much so that was... kinda like a 2 way check... 2. Food- 4 stars- I thought the food was pretty good. At least the food we ordered. There were 5 of us and this is what we ordered: Spinaci Zola (Spinach Dip)- This was a warm spinach dip served with crostini. I thought it was pretty good. Dip was nice and warm and pairs well with the crostini. We finished that crostini and there was more dip, we simply asked for more of the crostini and were were served with WARM crostini... 5 Stars for that!! Parma Ham. Arugula. (Pizza)- I thought the pizza was just ok. Nothing really special to say about this dish. Sandwiche- My cousin ordered a sandwich but i forgot the name of it. She says she always orders it, so i am assuming it good. Crema Di Zucca Pancetta (Summer Squash Soup)- My cousin ordered this and i was able to have a taste. This soup was so tasty. I was surprised that this soup was so flavorful. Not too thick and not to thin of a consistency for soup. Minesrta Di Fungi (Mushroom Soup)- My aunt ordered this soup. She said it was pretty good. I did see her add some pepper in her soup though. Penne Al Telefono (Mozzarella. White Cheese. Basil Pasta)- This was my order. I enjoyed this pasta dish very much. Nice and cheesy and served with a nice piece of bread. The pasta was cooked perfectly and it was seasoned just right. I didn't need to add extra cheese. Roast Organic Chicken- This was what my uncle ordered. He was "trying" to be healthy that evening. He didn't say much about it. But all that was left were bones... What does that tell you? Pomelo Shake- This shake was so refreshing. SO GOOD!!! Warm Lemonade- This was my aunt's ordered. She said it was too sour. Glass of red wine- This was my uncle's ordered. No comments from him. But he id finish the glass. Cibo is a place that I would go back to if ever I am back in the Philippines. The serves was great and the servers were very attentive. The food was great... simple.. yet tasty! Cheers!!

Cibo, my love that has lasted more than a decade. Entering any Cibo branch, you will notice it's modern aesthetic. You would think that the food would be the same: small portions and mixes of ingredients you wouldn't have thought worked well but do. Maybe it was that way in the beginning but through constant return trips, Cibo's dishes have actually become comfort food. Things I crave for: squash soup, spinach artichoke dip, mushroom and ham dip and their penne al Telefono (mozzarella and tomatoes). Of course there are many more dishes and are just as good. It's a place that rarely disappoints if you're looking to satisfy your Italian craving!

Cibo, Cibo, Cibo. I wonder what there is that's left to say about Manila-renowned Cibo that hasn't already been said. In my definition, it is the quintessence and literal definition of FOOD FOR THE GODS. Move over, dessert. It doesn't matter if Italian cuisine doesn't float your boat, I guarantee and would stake my cash on the fact that it's nearly impossible for you not to find SOMETHING here that you'll end up loving and savoring. I've been patronizing this establishment for years as everything I've ordered has been SUPERB and I've yet to encounter bad service regardless of what branch I visit. On that note, I've been to far too many than I can remember. From the juicy lamb chops to my all time favorite penne al telefono to the squash soup to the paninis, dips and more, I could go on forever. Give it a shot and see for yourself. Get back to me if I'm wrong :)

Another family favorite. I honestly think that Cibo is one of those restaurants that will be housed in the hall of fame. It's just a formidable classic, that doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon. There have been a bunch of modern Italian restaurants popping out here and there but I don't think they'll ever have Cibo's charm and reputation. From the veeeeery much universally adored spinach dip, Cibo has put a stamp in the Italian cuisine in the Philippines. When people think spinach dip, Cibo comes straight to mind. They have one of the best spinach dips; it's well-balance, well-seasoned, and great consistency all around. The Penna Al Telefono is another classic for me, and if I don't want to be adventurous, it's always my adored go-to. I'm not a fan of tomato sauce so this being my favorite already speaks volume. The acid from the tomato is reduced by the cream, but still giving it that zing. The sauce is just creamy and has such strong flavors that I love. What makes Cibo great is how it doesn't take its food for granted, always giving the best in each component.

The place is a great setting for a power lunch, "ladies who lunch", or a very nice dinner. I ordered a bellini and it was great. Not too sweet and just the right alcohol content. For the meal we ordered the lobster ravioli and a meat pizza. My only critique of the meal is that although the pizza was good, perhaps a Neapolitan style would make it more authentic and differentiate from other available pizzas. The service was exceptional. The prices were reasonable for what we ordered. I noticed in the menu other full meal classic Italian meals for moderate prices. One more critique, the tiramisu seemed like it was not thawed out enough indicating too frozen. The cappuccinos were deftly made with authentic italian brew. All ingredients were authentic including the gorgonzola cheese on the salads. Definitely will try this place again, and at night for another meal.

A trio performed nightly and were quite entertaining playing and singing a mixture of modern and classic songs. Special occassion serenades on request. Sitting upstairs or in the room to the left of the main entrance was quieter. I ordered the panna cotta with mango which was a large slice but was firmer and lacked a certain creaminess than I expected. At least the mango slices and sauce added some sweetness to offset. Not too impressed with dessert but since it's a short walking distance from our new base in BGC will likely try their Italian food in the future. Will update my review at that time.

I'll leave another review when order comes. Updated: it's no longer going by the same name, but I did order the one pasta dish they had with the truffles, and it was delicious as well as two chocolate croissants that were amazing. It was also one of the best lattes I've had in the city. It's not easy finding good food in Manila unless you're at a five-star hotel. So this place is not bad for breakfast croissants and may be a quick bite to get you out of the fast food haven that is vanilla.

Farfalla is the in-house restaurant of the Hotel Durban, a small but classy budget hostel in Makati's tourist zone. And while most of the time the terms "budget hostel" and "in-house restaurant" should be your cue to run far, FAR away from the joint, this is not the case with Farfalla. Farfalla prides itself with making their own pasta and baking their own bread, and it shows in their dishes. I've eaten here a couple of times (I love staycationing in Hotel Durban), and it has never disappointed. The pastas are on point, the bread is lovely, and everything is reasonably priced. But for me, the best feature of Farfalla is the outdoor seating. Overlooking Durban st, which connects the more chaotic P Burgos street and Makati Avenue, you will inadvertently be witness to the fascinating subculture only found in Makati's tourist belt, while being shielded from it. It's like being protected by a force field while you watch foreigners from every persuasion, "massage therapists", hawkers, and partygoers walk, scream, shout, argue, run, fight, and party in front of you. It's entertaining! Something should be said about eating here on a Sunday morning. There you are, eating your breakfast (which is excellent, by the way), while the entire street is quiet and peaceful. Every now and then, you find a couple of tourists/foreigners/locals dragging themselves back to their hotels/homes. Again, very entertaining.

Luckily it was just walking distance from where me and my family were staying in BGC. I remember during quarantine in 2021, my friend sent me the roasted chicken and since then I couldn't get over the juiciness and flavors of it. So I had to order it for myself this time. The veggies that come along with it and the sauce is so flavorful. Kind of wish the chicken was bigger because it's just that good! The pizza was okay not the best I've had but it was a nice snack to try. I didn't get to try the pasta because I was just really into my chicken. I'd only recommend this place if you want to try it. It's quite pricey for the portions but it is an authentic Italian restaurant out here in the Philippines. The interior is quite nice and they do have outdoor seating. However the time we came it was excruciatingly humid. So we dined inside. Service was good. The staffs were quite attentive and can speak English to help those who don't speak Tagalog. I see why my friends would rave about the chicken though. I do recommend that as something to try.
