This is the worst company you can ever subscribe too. The savings are 1000000% NOT WORTH IT. The internet speed is abysmal aka one of the slowest internet providers i have ever experienced. Even internet in remote areas of Jordania is faster then this provider. BUT WAIT, when i call them and ask to be directed to customer service to get my service cancelled, they tell me they cannot cancel before they transfer my call to the cancellation department. I wait 15mins on the phone and the technical service department answers?!?! and tries to convince me that i need a technical specialist to come to my apartment and to fix the SAME problem for the 3RD TIME!!. I tell him repeatedly 5 TIMES that i don't want to hear about it and want to cancel it. This is incredibly frustrating and I recommend anyone to never go with this company. Its not worth your time, your patience and ofc the savings on such a slow and miss leading provider of internet. PS: i paid for 50 mbs of download speed and have only had between 5 mbs to 25 mbs. I've been with CIK for 4 years, subscribing their grandfather 30mpbs FTTN plan. Overall, their internet speed is as advertised, and customer service is helpful. Recently, they offered me a new 50mbps FTTN plan, but the monthly price is cheaper than my previous one. No content streaming (forger nice youtube sessions, or streams), no playing (forget multiplayer games; with an average ping of 130, and a lot of spikes going very very high you won't be able to achieve much). Internet speed is not great. Got into a contract thinking it was a cheap monthly deal. A couple days after getting into this deal, we wanted out because of horrible internet, but couldn't get out since they already charged us for a year's worth. We were forced to upgrade the "cheap" deal to more expensive package due to horrible internet speed. You need to prepay a year in advance to get a discount. Once you do that, they will keep your credit card on file and charge after the year is over (without your consent - even if you cancel their service). Tried cancelling multiple times and kept getting pushed and pushed. They kept saying in order to cancel, I need to wait to port my home number. What if I don't care anymore, and just want to cancel? No, can't even do that! To return their equipment, you need to pay for the return. Other providers provide return label for free. Not CIK. Do yourself a favor, shop elsewhere with better internet speed for the same, if not better pricing. read more

When shopping for an internet provider, I have three pieces of advice: Do your homework. Spend a little extra to get customer service. Avoid CIK Telecom like the plague. Internet is great, but it's inevitable you will at some point run into technical issues or will require customer support. Good companies realize your time (and their own time) is valuable. Not CIK Telecom. I have had nothing but problems: poor internet connections; limited download speed (much lower than the 25 MBPS plan I subscribed too, I tested it); and technical support from hell. A decent internet plan might cost $10-30 more per month, from another company. But you'll save more than that when you consider the significant downtime and slow download speeds you will experience with CIK Telecom. Not even counting the time you will spend with the unhelpful and impatient technical support. BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! Phantom charges on your credit card? You bet. I found a better deal under connected for success program and I'm trying to cancel my subscription with them, I called three to four times and they keep transferring me to other departments and after 20, 25 minutes my phone gets disconnected. I have recently noticed that my internet speed for certain websites have been noticeably slower than other sites, regardless of the time of the day. When I checked my internet speed on Speedtest.net and various other speed test sites, I have been getting 75/10mbps, which is the correct internet speed for my plan. I decided to conduct various tests on the sites I was experiencing this slowdown. I have tried playing Ultra HD and 4K video on various streaming sites such as YouTube and Netflix, however, my internet connection speed would not be fast enough to play the video without stuttering or buffering. However, when I used a VPN (located in Toronto) on the same sites, I experienced seamless playback and there was no stuttering or buffering on the video. I have conducted this test several times, on different devices, and during different times of the day. The VPN connection was faster than a Non-VPN connection EVERYTIME. This suggest there is evidence of internet throttling or traffic shaping that CIK is using to intentionally slow down my internet for certain sites. After my discovery of this issue, I contacted a senior technical support staff. He walked me through various tests and concluded that there were no issues with my internet. When I asked about if CIK throttles internet, he stated that CIK does not throttle internet or shape traffic in anyway. I have been with CIK Telecom for several years and overall their customer service and internet reliability has been poor. I would not recommend CIK to anyone and I am seriously considering switching ISPs. read more

These clowns at CIK Tel want to become millionaires by stealing your money, I was laid off and chose to save $20 per month. Speed was supposed to be 50mbps, but I never went above 30; only once or twice, maybe. It usually hovered around 10-15mbps and occasionally went as low as 1mbps. For the past 4 months I had to pay virgin mobile an extra $50 in fines every month because I had no choice but to use my limited cellular data. Customer service, based in India means passing you from service to tech support, back to service, back to sales, again to some manager, back to tech support. Every time you have to call make sure you have at least half a day free. So last week I bit the bullet and ordered from Rogers. which are not angels either :) but much much better than these clowns. read more

Very bad technical customer service and internet service .

The dial-up internet is much faster than CIK 50Mb download- 10Mb upload home internet service. They charged me for installation, they made me stay with their garbage service two months or pay extra cancellation fee and they made me pay for returning the modem. They also gave me seven days to send it back while no post service is working properly in this pandemic situation which means they are looking forward to charge me for modem as well. It happened for more than a week and with no resolution in sight, I decided to cancel the service. There were 3 of us working from home and 2 students doing online classes - nobody was able to do any work for a few days. We even used up our cellphone hotspot data. Great price and works amazing . . . for 3 months and then shows its true colors. Currently have 50 Mbps connection, never gotten 50 Mbps but at least sometimes 40 Mbps . For 3 months I was getting ~35 Mbps consistently but now.. it fluctuates between 10 - 25 Mbps .. and sometimes around 5 Mbps. My suggestion, if you are looking for good internet provider, get CIK for the time being (3 months or so when it works fine because you are new customer) and keep looking for a better one. I called their support many times, they seem helpful, but don't really help much, they make you do stupid stuffs again and again to temporarily make it a little better, but no fix. They even will take you to electrical box just to waste your time and make it seem that they are helping. Overall, absolutely cheap crap service. I am looking for a better provider currently, so take my suggestion, otherwise you'll spend alot of evenings frustrated like I did. read more

First off.. I'll start with the 'installation fee' they send your equipment in the mail, it arrives you call the number and they give you directions on how to set it up and charge you for doing it yourself plus you pay the shipping fee LOL. Soo I was with these guys for about 2 years and never really had an issue until I ended my Services. The customer service rep I spoke with at the time of moving had told me I could get services where I was going so I paid my bill to secure it and booked the appointment. They called me a couple days before i was supposed to get hooked up telling me I wasnt able to get CikTel where I had moved. I'm in the process of sending back the equipment but have had some things to deal with so it's been put on the back burner but they are still charging me monthly rates for usage, etc for the last 3 months. Compared to R and B, CIK's internet packages are much more affordable. I've been using their internet and TV services for around 3 years. Overall, I am satisfied with the services. However, the only negative thing is that their TV remoter is not sensitive. Hope they can fix it soon, and help me get free upgrade. read more

I switched to CIK since their prices were slightly better and within 2 days of switching my internet was out. I called and they told me what they tell everyone 'unplug-replug your router'. I did and of course nothing happened, then they said to unplug-replug my modem, which usually its a router+modem combo package. They sent me on a wild goose chase saying to locate this little modem that they hid in my apartment. No where to be found. Ill skip the details but they didn't even install the modem in my unit, it was in a telus closet that has other internet boxes that only the owner/concierge of the building have access. My second issue was that I port  forwarded and problem and these guys' solution was to sell me a private IP, which is a common thing that every other companies include in their internet package. Then, when I asked about it, the person I was talking to transfered me to sales, which then transfered me to customer support. I was told it is 10$ per month for a problem that they have created. The person told me there was a ticket created and that I would get a call back for more information which then I specifically asked if I was going to have to pay for anything. They said no. Cool The next day, I am told that the private IP has been issued without me agreeing to anything, and that it will be 10$/month extra. I said no shot I am paying this which then I was transfered to a 'senior level manager'. To no surprise to you guys I assume, I was left on hold for over 20min to then be greated by a voicemail stating to leave a message. Again to no surprise , I never got a callback so I called back the next day. And the next day after that since, again, got an answering machine. Keeping in mind every time I got transfered or called, I was sitting on hold for 20min each time. Never have I gotten a callback or even an answer. At this point I started creating multiple tickets on their website trying to get someone to look at all the issues I've been having. I finally got a callback from you after sending a few tickets, the guy told me  he needs to confirm things on his side and he will call me back the next day. Funny enough, the 'solution' to my problem was a discount, instead of paying 10$ + tax extra I would be 5$ + tax. I told him nope and to cancel my service. You would think the story ends here, but nope there is more. Cancelling internet providers is always annoying since they send you to a customer retention guy who will try everything to keep you. So I got just that, except it took 3 transfers (20mins of wait everytime of course) and then they told me they are closing my account. This was on the 29th of a month and I had an inkling they weren't going to do anything until the next month so I would get charged for the next billing cycle. I called 2 days later on the 31st and the guy said that they didn't even start the cancellation. He said he was doing it right away which I waited on the call for him to send me the confirmation email that it has indeed been cancelled. Do no go with this company even if its cheaper. read more

This is a Chinese internet provider that my parents signed up for to receive Asian TV channels via the internet. They didn't tell me ahead of time, otherwise I would have cancelled it and have them sign up with another internet provider. They seem to have set up everything for my parents but when I checked things out, the crappy router they provided didn't have all the information for me to access it. So began my odyssey in reaching them for help Customer Service is almost non existent. I've tried to contact them several times via their "live" chat button which only popped up a box to leave a message info to reach you back at. After a few times and of this and emailing them directly over several days with no response or confirmation I tried to contact them via telephone, only to be put on hold for 30 mins until it put me through to a mail box to leave a voice message! When I miraculously get through to them on a slow weekday afternoon, the service agent didn't speak English very well so it was hard to communicate the issue I was having. Teksavvy and Acanac are much much better options for resolving technical issues and their internet service is exactly the same. Plus those two are actually cheaper if you compare the prices on a monthly basis. If you want Chinese TV content, one can simply just purchase the IPPTV device (Pacmall or internet) to watch Asian TV and use ANY internet service provider, so don't get sucked their sale pitch thinking this is the only option you have. read more

I got the unlimited bandwidth package, and they said I used "too much" of their bandwidth recently" So they put me in a list with 400 other CIK internet users, in the "low priority" zone. For something I paid for, I'm supposed to get 45mb/s download and 10mb/s upload, and now I only get 10 download, and 0.5 upload. This internet company are full of LIARS. Tricking customers with their false advertisements, and not telling the customers that they have a "code of conduct" about "bandwidth usage". They will cut most of your internet speed if they feel like that specific IP (internet protocol) user is taking up too much of their usage. I don't recommend this internet provider to anyone. No one should deserve to spend $50 on a company that can't make a promise. "Customer is king". Pfffttt. read more

There should be a 0-star option for ISPs like this. ABSOLUTE SHIT!! It's rarely stable, sometimes it completely disconnects. There are a TON of fluctuations, it delivers at the speed I paid for for a couple of minutes and it goes bad immediately. If you want to game, remember that the ping will often hit 100+. Customer service also doesn't help at all, I had to call them 3 days in a row and they didn't even do anything. It was actually just massive fluctuations in the connection. Don't get fooled by the low price, ciktel's internet is the worst you can get. I would rather use ANY OTHER ISP, even if it means I get only 35mbps. read more

Horrible internet company. I Pay for 150/10 mbps and get around 5.2. The only time I can play is around the beginning of the day and once it hits 6 PM, it's wraps. Turtle speed.
