All of the other reviewers were guests at the same wedding on 7/17/2016. Every single request paid for and requested by the bride and groom and brides family-those who paid for the wedding-was met. Guests did not seem to believe that requests or other things were addressed properly, however that complaint was not about the wedding planner or staff. The couple hired their own caterer-which had nothing to do with the wedding planner and is not associated. Folks have complained that Cinderella For A Day "walked out" and was "unprofessional", however, from the moment Cinderella arrived at the event they were met with an inebriated, belligerent and verbally abusive father of the bride. Throughout the day the situation worsened and culminated with the father of the bride and his son attacking several of the staff, including the owners husband, my husband and I myself was punched in the throat by the father of the bride. Karen and jay-the owners of the company called the police and evacuated all of Cinderella For A Day employees for their own safety. This event was a tragedy for the bride and groom, at the fault of the poor woman's father and brother. Hopefully the father and brother have enrolled in a 12 step program for sobriety and anger management. read more

Wedding - if you want to call it that - at location south of Albany, NY on 16 July. Horrible execution which means horrible preparation. Wait staff unprepared and did not know how or what to serve. Lost or ran out out of beverages - adult, children & water. Reception seating not available for all guests. Cocktail hour ran out of snacks & anything to drink. Maybe worse yet is the planning staff was not working towards correcting any issues & eventually left the premises. The character of an individual or organization really comes out during adversity. The character shows this is a business that should never ever serve another client. Could be worst example of any event I have been at in my life. Cinderella for a day? Try Nightmare for a day. I urge you not to use this company. They made false promises and did not deliver. They were unprofessional and had no interest in rectifying any issues. They were unprepared and did not have a backup plan and to make matters worse did not provide any urgency or care to rectify any issues.. Right from the beginning things went wrong. The wedding day also had limited food and they ran out of alcohol and drink, 2 hours into the wedding. They were short staffed. The staff that was there, did not have idea of the details of the wedding and to make it worst were unwilling to assist. The guest were told to open their own beer because their was no bottle opener. When the employees were asked questions about the service -they were rude, unaccommodating, and very irate. They even started a fight injuring the father of the bride and ultimately the entire staff of Cinderella for a day walked out of the wedding leaving the bride and groom devastated and everyone in disbelief. read more

I recently attended the Rao-Addeo wedding in Athens NY and was shocked at the ineptitude and shoddiness of the event. It seems that there was not a single detail that was not overlooked. The cocktail hour started off beautifully and everything catapulted downhill quickly. Two weeks before the wedding I placed my online order for the main course. I chose the steak. The waitress confirmed my order for dinner and two hours later we were still waiting. Famished, The food finally arrived and I was served a meager portion of pasta instead of the steak which I had ordered. I was literally faint from hunger after such a long day and just swell of this Tosta which was about two spoonfuls. Almost all the guests left before the cake was served because it was way after midnight. The day of the wedding was a huge disaster. I am a musician and the son of an Episcopal minister I began playing the organ in my father's church at age 13. For the next 50 years I have played countless weddings and this is among the very worst. The wedding was held at a wonderful venue overworking the Hudson river. The Wedding planner, Who is supposedly obligatory at this establishment - hence one would think was entirely familiar with the setting - seems not to have any idea how to present a wedding in this situation. It was an outdoor wedding right on the river and there was no PA system in place so the entire service was basically an inaudible event. One could not hear any of the wedding vows, hear a single word of the person officiating, or even hear some of the simple music. The music consisted of a single guitar which was placed so far away and seemed to be only a distant contribution and had nothing to do with the service. A storm threatened the entire day and no provision had been made for what could possibly have been an imminent downpour. It was a completely mediocre service because of the poor planning. There was no wine available because the estimate had obviously been greatly mistaken. Food was sparse and the whole event was completely inept and amateurish. We all felt terribly sorry for the bride and groom and the two families. Just the minimum of foresight could have prevented such an unfortunate experience. read more

I seldom post on line but after the wedding I experienced last week I have no choice but to post. I don't want to see another young couple's big day ruined. The wedding planner was Cinderella 4 a day and the catering company was Me and You catering. These two entities combined to put on the worst wedding I have ever attended. The wedding planner was so disorganized, her people didn't set up properly, serve properly or seem to have any idea what they were doing. They ran out of vodka before the cocktail hour was over. They ran out of water and seltzer also, about the same time. The food from the caterer was inedible from bowls of tasteless shrimp to unidentifiable meat dishes. The kicker is this guy supposedly competed on Iron chef. I guess that is another fixed game show. His food was terrible and his appetizers tasted like they came right out of the local supermarket's freezer section. There are so many more details that I won't bore you with. Young couples take heed, if you are planning your one special big day avoid Cinderella 4 a day wedding planner based out of Long Island and Me and You catering out of NYC. read more

We have attended many weddings and receptions, but the wedding held on July 16 in Athens and planned by "Cinderella for a Day" was the worse wedding we have ever attended. Cannot understand any of the good reviews because not only was the cocktail hour (which lasted for two hours) unprofessionally handled,the dinner reception was a complete disaster!! No seating provided for the outside cocktail hour; wait service poor; drinks and food as, I understand, not what was ordered. The dinner reception had no order; glasses on the table were never filled with water; before dinner was served - the wine, ginger ale, etc .was not provided - and not because it was not ordered and paid for - but because the wait staff never served it. The wait staff, as well as the wedding planner, were poorly groomed; not appealing to look at. The culmination was the fact that the wedding planner and/or wait staff attacked the father of the bride, resulting in having EMS and the police arrive, and the father of the bride had to be rushed to Albany hospital with a broken leg. I understand he had to have surgery. I would NEVER hire "Cinderella for a Day" and would never recommend anyone doing so. read more

I recently attended a wedding done by Cinderella for a day. It was by far the worst and a real disaster. The service was terrible, food sparse and they continued to run out of food and drinks from the cocktail hour. I highly recommend you don't use Karin. By far she is not a wedding planner. read more

On the evening of July 16th we attended a wedding supposedly planned by Cinderella 4 a day. We are still trying to figure out how a wedding planner with so called five star reviews and an iron chef from nyc could be in charge of an event that just got worse and worse as the evening went on. I have been in the food business for a long time and I can tell you this wedding planner and chef were way out of there league. Poor planning, not enough servers, ran out of certain drinks, no food. How do you send out a big bowl of soup and not give anyone on the table a bowl. To top everything off there were a lot of kids with food allergies attending this event. After asking a number of the servers about the ingredients and no one able to give me an answer. We had to tell these young kids that there was No food, not even a roll with butter. How could this happen??? Even though a ton of things went wrong at this event the worst part of it was the fact that the wedding planner and chef did not offer any solutions. This wedding planner and chef had no idea how to solve any of these problems. And how can a wedding planner leave half way through an event. I was at a wedding on 7/17 there were no chairs set up for cocktail hour, they had to brought in from wedding area after it was pointed out to staff. They ran out of silver ware during cocktail hour, my husband was having an indian type dish and the only think they could give him to eat it with was chop sticks. It was a very warm day, we had no water on the table. A relative of the family was running around putting bread sticks on everyones table. at 7 pm they had run out of bottles of water,gingerale, club soda ,tonic and vodka. A family friend had to go to store to replenish supplies.We had no idea what the menu was, and one of wait staff said she didn't know either as it was her first day. There was a disagreement with family about service and wait staff walked out during the wedding which was very unprofessional. read more

I was at a wedding on 7/16 the staff was rude,and non professional. They did not know the food they were serving. They ran out of white wine and vodka at both the cocktail hour and reception I also noticed the staff drinking as well. I felt so sorry for the bride . As the majority of the guests were from Manhattan and were not use to this poor service. This place should be ashamed of themselves. Please research your planner before you book. Don't make final payment till the event is complete. Certainly don't use this one! read more

I thought in Cinderella things went bad at midnight but at the wedding event I attended last weekend things went bad as soon as the guests arrived. I have been around the catering business for 40 years and I have never seen a wedding that had no organization, no management, employees not trained and a lack of preparation. I am writing this review in reference to a wedding I attended on July 16, 2016. The reason for delay in my review was that I wanted to attend the second destination wedding I had this summer to compare and confirm my opinions. The second destination wedding I attended was absolutely beautiful, elegant and everthing that the wedding planned by Cinderella For a Day, located in Kingston, New York, should have been. Unfortunately for the bride, choosing Karin from Cinderella For a Day was the worst decision she could have made. When you choose a wedding planner you would expect to have someone who is professional, poised, organized, has experience with all types of weddings and can think outside the box when needed. Also, if her employers were unhappy you would expect the planner to do anything she could to rectify the situation. To begin with, Karin was dressed completely inappropriately with cargo shorts and a black t shirt while running the wedding. Although the wedding started off ok, once the cocktail hour started it was all down hill. The bartenders ran out of liquor, white wine, and water about 1/2 hour into the party. The bartenders were apologizing to all the guests saying they couldn't believe this was happening. There were no seats at the cocktail hour, most of the passed appetizers were on skewers with no garbage pails to dispose of them. These are details that should have been attended to by the planner. The Father of the Bride had to point these out and ask for them while the wedding was in progress. As for the reception, the wait staff was rude and very sloppily dressed with most of the men's shirt tails hanging out. They also didn't seem to know that the dinner was supposed to be served family style, as half out the guests received individual bowls of everything and the rest of the guests barely received any food. Now onto the food. The food was prepared by Me and You Caterers from Manhattan. Unfortunately, I really can't say anything good about the food either. For example, the salad that was served was a Kale salad that had such an unappetizing odor without any dressing making it inedible. Then a small bowl of shrimp was set on the table, which would have been fine, except is was the same shrimp that was served at the cocktail hour only this time not on a skewer. Then a single bowl of some sort of soup was served to the table with no spoons to be found. I will spare you anymore food details, except to say I would never recommend this caterer. Though all of this, the Father of the Bride was trying to get everything corrected while trying to shield his daughter, the Bride, from all these mishaps. Finally he approached Karin, the planner. Instead of apologizing profusely and telling him she would correct everything, she became indignant and very nasty. She called over her husband who escalated the argument. It resulted in a scuffle which sent the Father of the Bride to the hospital. I have never experienced anything like this ever. Cinderella For a Day, her entire staff and Me and You Caterers should be ashamed of themselves. I would never recommend either of these companies to plan a wedding or any other type of party. It's extremely unfortunate, as it should have been a beautiful day for the Bride and Groom, however due to incompetence it turned into a disaster. read more

I attended a wedding that was by this company.. I have never ever in my life been to such a horrendous event .. I have been to many many weddings, parties etc. that were not the best and the food was okay but it was ediable. Not only were they unorganized but when the food came out it was unidentifiable at this point all the guests were starving because the cocktail hour was no better. The few appetizers they did have were not even good.. They did not have enough chairs for the guests either .. They also ran out of alcohol & other drinks like water, soda etc. therefor we had to send one of the guests to go purchase more.. When we sat for dinner there were so many glasses on the table obviously for water & wine.. The water glasses were empty & no wine either.. Now the food starts coming out & we get a very small platter of some kind of meat then maybe 15 minutes later a tiny little bowl of shrimp comes out which wasn't enough for 2 people let alone for the eight people at the table.. Then they served some disgusting soup & there wasn't a bowl to be found.. There wasn't even dressing on the salad.. Needless to say NOONE ate.. The staff besides being dressed so sloppy & not uniform at all didn't even know the names of the dishes they were serving...finally the busses arrived to bring us back to the hotel where we sat in the little coffee shop that the hotel let us use eating McDonalds which was purchased by a family member who was kind enough to purchase enough for everyone .. Can't imagine how much she must have spent but it was a lot.. Shame on this company for ruining a wedding that would have been spectacular considering the beautiful grounds it was taking place at. The property was breathtaking .. Bottom line is Cinderalla did an extremely poor job planning this wedding if there was even any planning at all!! This was one of the worst weddings I ever attended. A totally unprofessional staff that ruined what should have been an excellent wedding. The cocktail hour was a major disaster with very little food and that which was served looked like frozen snacks from Trader Joe's. On top of that they ran out of white wine and booze mid-way through the cocktail hour. The raw bar had maybe 20 clams or oysters and that was it!!! Nothing was presented in a professional manner and staff served whatever meager food there was out of tupperware with no concern for presentation whatsoever. When we started the reception dinner there was no water on the table and the wait staff had three speeds of service: slow, slower and slowest. They were the most slovenly looking staff I have ever seen. Many of them had their shirts hanging out of their pants and walked as if in a daze. They looked as if they had been on a drug binge the night before. No food was coming out of the kitchen and when the little food did arrive it was horrible. Several attempts were made to get the wedding planner to step up her game but she was clearly out of her element and had no idea how to handle such a big affair nor how to manage her staff and order all the necessary things needed to help make such an event run smoothly. Salad came out without dressing and then we were sitting for a half hour while no one cleared the salad plates and no other food was in sight to be eaten. When some food did arrive it was flavorless. But the biggest problem was Karin Khlywiak and Jehangir Mehta and their staff being totally inadequate to run a birthday party for a one year old, let alone a wedding on a country estate for 250 plus people. This company will ruin your wedding and destroy any dreams you may have for wanting to be Cinderella for a day. They should re-name the company - "Wicked Step Sister For a Day" read more

Please if you are considering using this service to plan your wedding don't.On July 16 this WEDDING PLANNER was given the responsibility to preform her duties as promised.She failed miserably disappointing and embarrassing the father of the bride and the majority of the 200 plus guests.Her title as advertised is weddin planner she forgot to mention DISASTER is the only planning she is capable of achieving.Not only did she and her unqualified staff act unprofessional they didn't have a clue how to accomplish their duties.The first indication of trouble was half way into the cocktail hour when the bar ran out of white win, club soda,gin and the bar tender couldn't find a beer opener.We managed to get through this mishap only to realize there was hardly any food to eat.Now we all are awaiting a great dinner as promised it's 6:30 and we are hungry.When service started it was like a Laural and Hardy movie except it wasn't funny but a disaster.Food what little there was of it was uneatable and presented by improperly dressed college student.Shortage of food liquor and the basics such as water and soda should be an embarrassment to this so called planner of weddings. The so called IRON CHEF must share in the responsibility associated with disappointing all who attended this wedding and the heartache and devastation placed on the father of the bride and his family.We are one family in time of joy and sorrow we will survive this unfortunate event.Those responsible for this huge disappointment should not offer their services until they take a refresher course in the proper planning and execution of a venue.No apologies were forthcoming from the planner or the caterer (meandyouny) Before considering using either one of this so called professionals do your do diligence the money misspent can be replaced but the disappointment and heartache will last a long time. read more
