Came here after the Pillbox hike before heading to the beach. Thankfully there was no wait and plenty of parking available. The restaurant itself felt pretty dated with poor ventilation and old carpeting. There were also flies everywhere constantly getting on the food, which was super annoying. The spam meal was decent, but honestly nothing you couldn't make at home in a few minutes. I also ordered the catch of the day, but it tasted more like the catch of the week. Fish was tough, lacked flavor, and the rice was caked up. The one standout was the guava pancake, which was extremely good and probably the best thing we ordered. I want to preface this review by saying we love Cinnamons. This is a great breakfast spot and perfect for families. My review is solely based on my negative experience this Mothers Day Morning, and is left to just set a reminder for the team for next Mothers Day. This year we had a newborn and decided it a good idea to order in and pick up food for Mother's Day. Scrolling through door dash at 6:00am, we had noticed most of the breakfast spots we also enjoy were not taking orders for Mothers Day (I.e. the spots disabled any ability to order food temporarily) It was a relief to see Cinnamon's Kailua still listed as a place we could order food. So I placed an order for pick up. Set a pick up time to 7:50-8:00am. When I arrived at the location for pick up at 7:53am I was informed by hostess and management that my order was cancelled and that "Door dash should have told me that Cinnamons was not accepting pick up orders for Mothers Day." But I was there (in person) and no notice was given to me up to the point of arrival . I asked instead that this notice was not provided to me in the app until right then when I was at the restaurant and requested if I could just do a to go order because this is not my mistake, but was refused the accommodation. I understand the struggle of the kitchen. I'm sure they were busy with the larger demand due to Mother's Day, but I was still very disappointed at the quick dismissal and felt as if I was the one in error. I checked my text messages on the drive home and saw a text notification message from Door Dash sent 7:56am informing me my order was cancelled. This notification was sent after I was already at the restaurant to pick up my food. I deduce that the primary fault in this exchange was that Cinnamons did not update Door Dash in advance of Mothers Day that they were not going to be taking orders. I also expect a few other orders probably went through this same discovery as well. Many dads like myself are now in the dog house after running to Foodland and rushing home to cooklumpy pancakes and burnt eggs for our wives and children! So Cinnamons, I'm not mad, but just please update Door Dash next year like the other restaurants did. This would protect a lot of us dads in planning accordingly and our wives from inevitable disappoint. Oh, and if you do this again next year, please make sure to text ASAP so we don't drive there and get informed of cancellation at pick up. Mahalo! read more

The food here is good. We live their pancakes. Their food portions are big. It's in a great location in Kailua so we meet here about once a month. As long as we are there before 8:45, seating is quick. Your entire party needs to be there before you can be seated. They have expanded seating in the courtyard so they can service more people. We randomly came across his place after we went to LaniKai Beach. It was delicious. We ordered the guava pancakes and one of the Benedicts and got lattes. This is such a cute, homey spot. We ordered red velvet pancakes, guava chiffon pancakes, thai tea french toast, kalbi moco, shaken beef loco moco and an omelette. The portions are large and definitely made to share. The prices are reasonable and there was so much food! Our server was nice and the restaurant was large and spacious without being too crowded. The food came out quickly and everything was good! The pancakes were on the denser and sweeter side and the thai tea french toast had boba inside but it was odd and a little too hard. I ordered their popular guava pancake and my wife ordered their newly tested Mac nut coconut pancakes. My son had their spam and rice with egg. I loved their guava pancake! The guava syrup has a nice glaze to it. It's rich, sweet but also had a nice thin coating around the pancake. This one is worth trying. We also enjoyed their Mac nut coconut pancakes. This was my first time at this location but I have had thr pancakes before when there was a Cinammon's at the Ilikai. It was worth it to drive here for the pancakes again. Definitely get them if you like guava. They also have a couple other ones I would have liked to try if we had a bigger party to share with because the portion is huge. Lots of seating inside and out cause it can get very crowded! The food was great! My daughter had the 3 egg omelett filled with portugese sausage, spinach and cheese! It was huge! She could get a short stack of specialty guava pancakes for $4.95 extra! What a deal! The pancakes were fluffy topped with guava sauce and whipped cream! It's been 10+ years since I've been to Cinnamons on Oahu and first place was on the line going up against Breakfast Club in San Jose. The intangibles held up and Cinnamons keeps its title! I got the exact same order I did 10 years ago and yes I still remembered it! Hawaiian omelette, red velvet pancakes, and smooth coffee! The wife got a signature Eggs Benedict but that's beside the point. What Cinnamons has in its favor is charm and the ocean. Having an omelette with fresh kalua pork and white fish is just something no one else can replicate! The red velvet pancakes have a cream cheese sauce and is outstanding. Pair that with their unique blend of Hawaiian coffee and you have the perfect breakfast! Our waitress Nicole and the whole staff are filled with Aloha and never rushed us though the line was getting longer and longer after 9am. Parking can be tricky as it is very in a shopping center and the EVERY SPOT is metered (but they take debit card too). It's hot and flies bothering me :( I rather eat inside, ac and away from flies, but I guess cuz we had jellybean with us in the stroller, they sat us outside. Bathroom is upstairs. The guava pancakes were AMAZING & hit the spot. Meanwhile the Kalua Benedict was a sad disappointment. The English muffin was so good - it was moist and had absorbed the juices from the kalua pig, yet still had a nice chew to it. I've had kalua pig eggs benedict before, but what set this one apart was the addition of the sweet potato - it added the perfect touch of sweetness to the dish. I ordered the half size and it was super filling. My friend ordered the guava chiffon pancakes and let me try - those were amazing. The eggs Benedict was good, the Lechon Kawali Moco was delicious with the right seasoning and texture, but what I would really like to highlight here were those Pistachio pancakes! I've tried multiple desserts on the island but this has probably got to be the best one yet. The pistachio wasn't overpowering, fluffy texture of the pancake was just right, and icing or whatever it was on there hit just right.
