4.5 stars for food and service. The decor and ambiance is cool and comfortable tho on the Saturday nite we dined it was a tad lively and busy, that slowed the timing of the dishes to table. We enjoyed everything and our waiter explained every dish to a T. We will definitely be back.

Cino is a wonderful high end Italian restaurant in the heart of Ward. It'll cost you at least $100 a person. We enjoyed it for a special occasion celebrating my husband's birthday. Service is excellent, and food is authentic and tasty. I especially loved the ragu and mushroom pastas, Cesar salad (sooo fresh and crunchy) and the octopus appetizer. The rib eye for the price was a disappointment. They try to sell you that it's smoked on guava wood, but truthfully is nothing special... I wouldn't come here for the steak... just get the pastas. We'll come back for special occasions:) Restaurant is quite loud, but it's modern inside. They need to fix their women's bathroom... it STINKS LIKE SEWER! Yuck!

Service: good even for Mother's Day dinner. We were seated quickly 10 min before our reservation time. Restaurant is a little noisy but not crazy loud. Server Sarah came over almost immediately, asked if we wanted any water or if we were ready to order other drinks. Asked for water then perused the cocktail menu. They don't list beers, whiskeys, or bourbons they have, you need to ask, but have a wine list in addition to the cocktail list. Once she gets our order (for anything) she immediately turns so there's no chance to ask questions, she's extremely efficient, not overly friendly. It was Mother's Day so not sure if it's always like that. Drinks were good. Guys ordered beers (Sapporo) gals ordered cocktails, Cino old fashioned for me (Four Roses Bourbon, Angostura Bitters, Jasmine, Orange bitters) and it was very good. Daughter ordered Blood Moon (Tequila, Cointreau, smoked chili liqueur, lilikoi, blood orange, agave, lime, Bittermans Hellfire Shrub), it had a little kick from the chili liqueur, not overly sweet, with a pretty color. Ordered beef tartare, made with fillet mignon (not raw, more like very rare) and coarsely chopped instead of scraped, w/egg yolk emulsion, capers, served with tapioca puff (like giant shrimp chips without shrimp). It was good, but the filet could have been chopped more finely. We also ordered crispy garlic potatoes, it had Parmigiana, and was yummy. Mains: guys got the Scallops with shrimp and fennel risotto. Scallops were good, but the risotto was still crunchy and not cooked enough to be truly creamy. Daughter got the Agnolotti del plin, with artichokes, mascarpone, lemon, ricotta salata. Good but not outstanding. I got the House aged roast duck, leg was confit, breast was roasted, w/orange sauce. Breast was very good, leg was not as tender as it could have been for a confit. Flavor was great. Entrees do not come with starch (unless it's a pasta dish). SIL ordered a twice baked potato, it was huge and good. Dessert was tiramisu (really good) & mini donuts w/some kind of sauce & sprinkles. Not sure because there was no menu, just a verbal description by Sarah. Overall experience was good, food was good, may return and try other dishes but not sure.

Pleasantly surprised to have another solid restaurant in town. The service was top notch and attention paid from the minute we sat down until we left. In fact, the service was better than a lot of fine dining restaurants in town. Now, the food and recommendations: Beet salad 5/5 if you like beet salad this one was one of the best i ever had with macadamia nuts and salt it had a sweet and rich savory taste that was a great starter Crispy Rice 5/5 another great starter. As expected, the rice was crispy and chewy at the same time with the fish giving it a deep but not overpowering flavor profile. Shrimp: 4.5/5 Generous pieces of shrimp and a nice red sauce. Very flavorful and wanted to scoop up more sauce with every bite New York Strip: 4/5 This was the only semi disappointment of the night. Ordered medium rare and because of the cut the end pieces were overcooked and dry. Not that it was bad but this was probably my fault for ordering a steak when there were so many other good options to order. The smashed potato's 5/5 were good but deadly. If you don't want a rich and heavy mashed potato dish don't get this but if you do you cant deny that it is yummy. Overall a really great dining experience and probably one of my favorite new places to go to.

Food was so good!!!!! We shared a caprese with bread, which pretty much filled us up. We also shared the garlic Parmesan potatoes and the creamed spinach. The spinach was Devine; warm and silky with a good amount of garlic. I wish the potatoes had more flavor, but they weren't bad. I had the mushroom papardelle which was also really good. I think it would have been better with angel hair pasta, but the thicker noodles worked (just not my fav). My friend had the filet which she said was very tasty, but because we were already so full, she saved it for lunch the next day. Staff was friendly and helpful. Since we sat at the small tables in the bar area, we couldn't really get a good gauge on the vibe of the rest of the place, but hope to come back to experience it all.

This hip little gem is tucked into a cozy residential neighborhood. Our server was kind and attentive, but as the evening went on, the noise level in the restaurant increased, making it difficult to hear--unfortunate, especially since there was no written dessert menu. With only a verbal rundown of dessert options, we ultimately skipped dessert altogether. The drinks were a hit across the table, though I honestly couldn't tell you exactly what everyone ordered--just that they were enjoyed. That said, I would have appreciated a wider selection of mocktail options. As for the food, I'd highly recommend the appetizers and sides. The mains, however, didn't really stand out as something I'd order again. My husband's steak, for example, was ordered medium but arrived much closer to rare. PS: Bring a coat. They blast the AC like the seafood needs to be refrigerated along with the entire dining room.

My second time here and it did not disappoint!! Amazing food, great service and an awesome atmosphere! Tried some different dishes and can confidently say I love everything! Emphasis on the potatoes which we got again because they were soooo good last time!!! They also do a late night cocktail special on Wednesdays till 2am!! Definitely check it out

10/10 highly recommend! Loved that magical purple drink, I think I ordered a little too much lol. The octopus dish was probably my favorite! I need to go back to try other dishes on the menu. Our server, a tall, Caucasian guy, handled our party of 15ish very well. Kudos to him for being extra patient and accommodating. I love how the place is decorated, it honestly reminds me of Vegas for some reason.

We came to celebrate a friend's birthday with an early dinner and somehow ended up staying five hours--which should say everything about how incredible our experience was. From the moment you walk into Cino, the ambiance immediately sets the tone. It's dark, moody, and elevated, but still warm and inviting--perfect for settling in and enjoying a long dinner with friends. We arrived a little early for our reservation and the team was incredibly accommodating, seating us right away. The service throughout the night was above and beyond. Our server walked us through the menu, shared personal favorites, and explained each dish in detail, which made the experience feel thoughtful and curated rather than rushed. The food absolutely delivered. Everything felt intentional, beautifully prepared, and packed with flavor. The spicy hamachi crispy rice was phenomenal--perfectly crisp with just the right amount of heat and freshness. The Caesar salad was anything but basic; it had incredible crunch and bold flavor that elevated a classic dish. And whatever you do, do not skip the garlic crispy potatoes. They were addictive and easily one of the standout dishes of the night. The bar program also deserves a shoutout. The bartenders were extremely knowledgeable and happy to craft custom cocktails based on our preferences. Even though our group was pretty picky, they took it as a fun challenge and delivered drinks that were thoughtful, balanced, and seriously impressive. Is it a little pricey for some? Maybe. But for the quality of the food, the ambiance, and the level of service, it was 100% worth it. This is the kind of place that makes a night feel special--whether you're celebrating a birthday, planning a date night, or just treating yourself to a great dinner. Pro tip: definitely make a reservation. Parking is easy if you use the structures at Ward Village or nearby Whole Foods. We're already talking about when we can come back. Can't wait for our next dinner here.

Birthday celebration at Cino last night although my birthday is actually today. From start to finish a fabulous dinner. The restaurant seemed to be short staffed but we weren't in any hurry. Five hungry people enjoying good food, good cocktails and some fantastic albeit small selection of desserts. All tables were filled when we arrived except the table reserved in the corner for our family. We all ordered different appetizers and entrees and enjoyed sharing bites across the table...family style. Limited wine list but that's another story. We parked across the street at the Theater complex and walked over. Nice evening.

In a nutshell, I think this restaurant is a good place for drinks and appetizers but not so much for dinner. We came here for the first time for my birthday dinner. I had wondered about this restaurant since I've eaten across the street multiple times and kept seeing it. It located in Ward area across from Nori bar and Happy lemon. There is parking both at the theater and whole foods but there is also a few public parking stalls in the structure right behind the business. The start was good. We were seated quickly and the staff was friendly. The drinks we ordered were good. The appetizers were delicious. The crispy rice was my favorite. We also enjoyed the uni and octopus. But when it came to main dishes it was a different story. We got the uni pasta, branzino, ribeye and duck. All the protein dishes were over seasoned. The duck was so salty we had to send it back. The pasta was dry and bland. The garlic potatoes and cauliflower were good though. Things got better again with dessert. The tiramisu was delicious. All in all I would go back for drinks, apps and dessert but not for a full meal.

Walked in they seated us flawlessly with no reservation. Amazing service and staff well done... I felt very good about the whole experience! Amazing food and legendary feel. Clean bathrooms and love the feel and vibe! We had the pork chop and crab pasta it was outstanding! Had a lot of mixed drinks and cocktails. Beer selection should be more... but overall a great experience!

Came to celebrate our birthdays together one evening. It was easy to get a last minute reservation and it was a weekend night, so we were surprised. Parking is available below one of the condos at Wards, and it's free then you just walk through a door around the corner to the entrance. Once inside, it was a bit noisy, the lighting was nice for an evening date. An intimate setting. Service was great. Our waiter explained the menu to us and recommended whatever was popular so that helped especially since this was our first time here. When we got our food, everything came out tasting soooo delicious! We enjoyed the food and even had leftovers to take home. Because we were celebrating our birthdays, our waiter treated us to a complimentary sorbet which was yummy. Will definitely come here again!

Do they ever have Chilean Sea Bass? We specifically went for this dish and were told they've never had CSB.

We don’t currently offer CSB but we do have it from time to time.

    Dog friendly outdoor seating?

Yes dogs are welcome on our lanai

I can't find any open days to book a reservation all the way into next year. Is the restaurant actually booked into 2025 or is the site wrong? I'm coming there in July and…

Thanks for bringing that to our attention. Please let me know the information for the reservation and I’ll make it for you.

    How much is corkage fee?

    Corkage is $35

    Is it BYOB?

We have a full bar with an extensive wine list as well.

    Do they have any beer?

We have Peroni and rotating Honolulu Beerworks offerings on tap.

    Where is the entrance?

On Halekauwila St, you pass Whole Foods, Holy Grail and Rinka, cross a little side street, then it’s right after a Pilates studio (or some kind of fitness place). I was focused on food and not wanting to think about exercising! 😝

Where is the entrance? Where do you park?

You can park in the Whole Foods parking structure or the Ward Theater parking. Entrance is on Halekauwila, in the A’alii condo.

They occasionally offer salmon as well! Obviously the dining ambiance is prolly the downside as it's a simple outdoor patio in front of the venue, but hey it does the job! We got their combo of Wasabi Ahi and Spicy Salmon, both of which we really love. I might like the sauce from the other well known place tad better, but would say this one was certainly delectable!

It had great flavor without overpowering the freshness of the fish. - The wasabi ahi was also good, but be prepared for a strong wasabi kick that definitely clears your sinuses. - I also tried the Hawaiian ahi, which was a little too mild for my taste. - The miso tako ended up being my least favorite because it leaned much sweeter than I expected. Next time I'd probably go with the shoyu instead since I was looking for a bit more flavor. One thing they absolutely get right is the fish itself. It's incredibly fresh, buttery, and almost melt in your mouth tender. Compared to other well-known poke spots, I actually preferred the quality and flavor of the fish here. The only reason I'm taking off one star is the rice. They use regular jasmine rice, and I really think sushi rice would make a huge difference. Since poke is essentially fish and rice, the rice should complement the fish instead of feeling like an afterthought. Service was quick and straightforward. You tell them what you want, they build your bowl, you pay, and you're on your way. The shop itself is very small with no indoor seating, just a couple of outdoor tables, so I'd consider this more of a grab-and-go spot than a place to dine in. Overall, I'd definitely come back for the freshness of the fish alone. With sushi rice, this place would be even better.

This is the trifecta people want when they go to a restaurant and Herringbone has exceeded my expectations. I had the potato crusted tuna and I devoured every last crumb on my plate. The fish was cooked to perfection so much so that it melted in my mouth. It was amazing. I do not say the lightly because just two nights ago I had an "organic macadamia nut crusted fresh catch" at a ward restaurant and the fish was dry which left me disappointed. I highly recommend you try this restaurant. Trust me and if you don't, it's your loss.

There was one other table when we arrived, so busy-ness was not an excuse. We stood at the front while the servers talked and ignored us. After being seated, it took about 10 min for the server to greet us, another 20 min to get drinks, and then about 20 more min for the food. No sense of urgency, minimal concern for taking our order or greeting us, and he had to be reminded about a few items we ordered or asked for. It's a beautiful spot, but the service is why I likely won't be back.
