Once we flagged down a server, service was attentive; I imagine they have lots of tourists come in to see the place without planning to stay and eat. Food was pretty good as well, lots to choose from on the menu.

We stayed a few nights in Taormina, and visiting Castlemona was recommended. Our driver said, "make sure you go to Bar Turrisi, it's world famous." So of course, we made our way to the little town of Castelmola, which is about 20min drive from Taormina center. To our surprise when we walked in, the entire bar is covered in phallic artwork, sculpture, furniture... you name it, it's on "theme." It's an old place with a fun idea, and people do seem to enjoy it. Now for the actual food and drink... it was ok. I had a mediocre aperol spritz, so/so calamari, and a couple average arancini. The servers were nice, the prices are reasonable, but I definitely wouldn't recommend this as a destination bar you had to see in Sicily.
