I am based in UK Reading, i work with Wipro Technologies Ltd, i have been leaving in Reading for…read morethe past 1 year, and its a lovely place, with lovely people, i don't have a car of my own, so i use cab services most of the time.
I am heading the entire Europe and UK region and hence i travel a lot, usually end up using cab services 3 or even 4 times a day. Today started off as a normal day, asked my hotel to book a cab for me as usual, the cab had to wait for 20 mins. i came out and straightaway apologised for the delay, i offered to pay the cab driver for his delay, but the driver was extremely rude, he told me that he has been waiting for 35 mins, and that he has lost out on potential customers because of this wait, i felt he was over-reacting, but i understood and told him that i m ready to pay more.
Once i told him that, i thought he would stop, but in vain. i usually carry my laptop bag with me in the backseat, he told me "I cannot allow you to carry your laptop bag, as you will damage the car", i was carry a sealed up of yogurt, i was carrying it mainly because i was already sorry to be late and i didn't want him to wait longer so, he told me, "also you are not allowed to have yogurt or any eatables inside the car" i said i wasn't going to eat it, to which he said, "i will not allow you".
NOBODY HAS EVER SPOKEN TO ME LIKE THAT. i spend 3 - 4 hrs of my everyday life in cabs and i have seen that cab drivers are usually very friendly, this is my first bad experience, i have had people wait for me for 1 hour and not utter a word. Also i am a heavy tipper, and sensitive that he would have lost potential customer and hence i always offer to pay over and above the waiting charge. but this person was really rude, i told him, that he is rude and asked him for his name, fearing that he will be held up because of my feedback - he refused to tell me his name, he went on to say "i don't feel like giving you my name"
it was a horrendous 10 mins drive, the worst cab ride i had in UK, an experience i wanted to share with everyone so much that it prompted me to open an YELP account. i request anyone from Top Cars viewing this to please instill some decency in to your cab drivers.
