I tell everyone I know about this place. Every time visited, food has been consistent and memorable. Service has left nothing but a difficult time for me be patient elsewhere. The host and bartenders are extremely professional and the servers always know just the right amount of attention needed to ensure all needs are met without being intrusive. My favs are amazing each visit: perfectly cooked wings, Brussels and shrimp! I think I order the same thing each time and remain amazed that they are perfect visit after visit. The chef team is obviously OCD regarding consistency. It's such a bummer to return to spots and the food that was once great turns unpredictable. Not here, Circa's 'C' stands for consistency!!! I work in the industry and I can truly say this restaurant group gets it right. I even tried to recruit one of the best attentive young managers I've encountered. Miles served us at the Gallery Place location previously and made such great food and drink suggestions. We had no idea he was a manager because he literally treated us as if we were his personal guests. My family was beyond excited to see him here at Navy Yard! I had such a fun time brining my family to Circa at navy yard. Making the appointment for four people was very easy and they had a lot of availability for a Saturday night. We ordered a few cocktails to start and they where all delicious and refreshing. For appetizer we ordered the spinach dip and I think that gets 5 stars on its own, so delicious and it was a good portion for 4 people to share. For dinner I ordered the scallops and they tasted great, the presentation was absolutely beautiful and the food came out quickly and hot. My family and I are visiting DC for Spring Break. I found Circa at Navy Yard on Yelp and decided to try them out based on their good reviews. I made a reservation on Opentable for 8:45 pm. We arrived early, at 8:30 pm. When we walked in we were immediately greeted and walked to our table. The vibe and atmosphere were inviting. Unfortunately, we waited for over 3O minutes and not one server acknowledged us. No water or drinks. A couple of servers just walked by and didn't even glance in our direction. The restaurant wasn't at capacity, there was really no reason for this lack of service. When we decided to leave, I told the hostess of our experience and discontent and she immediately offered to call the manager but we were already annoyed and felt it was pointless. Had an amazing meal from Circa at Navy Yard. This was via delivery while we were in D.C. for a quick getaway. Delivery was fast and friendly. The food was next level. We had salmon with the standard sides and a separate order of Brussels sprouts. Also a burger with fries (I think, honestly I forget what my son had because I was too in love with my own meal). The salmon was perfectly cooked and seasoned wonderfully and the side dishes complimented the salmon very well. That said, I wish I would have ordered 10 pounds of the Brussels sprouts to bring home with me, they were AMAZING! We'll be reminiscing about the Brussels sprouts for years to come. read more

The food was amazing! Seared scallops were perfect. And chicken wings were some of the best I've ever had. But what was even better was the incredible service I received. Best service I've ever had at any restaurant. Waiter saw me streaming a soccer game on my phone and immediately opened a door that showed a tv I didn't see and put the game on (without me asking). When placing the reservation they asked if special occasion it was for a birthday and not only did they give desserts with birthday candles but they also gave a birthday card signed by all the employees. Dropped in after the Red Sox /Nationals game and was so incredibly surprised!!! The staff were amazing, attentive, knowledgeable, welcoming and the food was perfect. Also, our drinks were delish. The manager Gabriella was our waitress and she was so engaging, honest and knowledgeable of the menu with great descriptions. Such a pleasant experience. So wanted this to be a 4 star review but it was not up to par of my expectations. The Brussels sprouts are very good. They are actually crispy and I could probably eaten just this if I would have known how the rest was going to turn out. One star for the sprouts. No stars for the poke nachos and bagogi wraps. The poke was good but did not have much taste and tasted like they added some salt to the sushi which should never need it. The wraps were bland and one was even missing meat. I was about to as where's the beef but it was not worth it as it just was not good. The other star was for the chocolate tart but it was missing some ice cream. It's super rich. I celebrated my 30th birthday at Circa Navy, and it was absolutely perfect! It's been my go-to for celebrations because I've had such great experiences. Our server Caroline (I believe that was her name) was phenomenal. She was kind, outgoing, professional, and personable. Her energy was so great and made the evening fun. We were a party of 12, and everything was extremely organized and smooth. The customer service, the food, the atmosphere were all great, even the bathrooms are beautiful. I was gifted a birthday card and Polaroid from the restaurant staff which was such a thoughtful gesture and totally unexpected. Ordered 2 big glasses of their happy hour wine, 4-5 plates of big portioned/shareable items to share with my colleague (flatbread, wings, tuna poke taco thing) AND my colleague ordered 2 beers and it was all under $70! I had a birthday dinner with some girlfriends at Circa Navy Yard last night & they made the dinner super super special! The staff was warm and welcoming, especially Alex who took care of us from the initial reservation to us leaving. The restaurant and staff were also taking proper and safe protocols as indoor dining reopens. We had a nice round private table all the way in the back which provided a safe social distance. Our server brought us champagne as soon as we sat down for our meal which was such a nice surprise! Food was delicious as always and service was great. I'm gluten free (celiac) and there are plenty of good options. Alex overheard me and my friends talking about espresso martinis and brought us over espresso martini shots before we even ordered them! I wasn't wowed by my trip here on Wednesday night. I went for dinner with my father & fiancé, and the first thing that struck me was how loud the music was. They were playing early- to mid-2000's music (think, Avril Lavigne and All American Rejects) loudly enough that I felt like I had to kind of shout to be heard. As much as I enjoy a good throwbacks playlist, that was super irritating. We were seated in a mostly empty dining room, and received good service from our waitress. We started with the bruschetta appetizer, which was the best part of the meal. Fresh tomatoes, yummy bread & olive oil, well seasoned mozzarella cheese. For our main meals, father & fiancé each had a burger--my father, the CIRCA burger, which was overcooked slightly but fine, and my fiancé, the Bison burger, which was good. I had the steak salad, which was good as well, and my steak was cooked properly. There wasn't really anything in particular that was wrong (aside from the very loud music), but there also wasn't anything particularly impressive about it either. And for a price tag of around $130, I kind of wanted more. read more

I've been to Circa's before but I absolutely do not recommend the Navy Yard location. I made a reservation here and specifically asked not to be sat at the bar, guess where I was sat....at the bar. While dining, our waiter took FOREVER to check on us. It took almost 40 minutes for him to come to our table after ordering.
