Okay y'all... how have I not heard more people talking about Circle Grill?! I was in the area for professional development today and wanted something local instead of a chain. Circle Grill was right down the street, super easy to get to, and let me just say -- this place deserves WAY more hype. If you didn't already know about it, you might drive right past it. But don't. Make the stop. I ordered a spinach, mushroom, and Swiss omelet and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was one of the BEST omelets I've ever had. The eggs were fluffy and perfectly cooked, the spinach was fresh, the mushrooms were sautéed just right, and the Swiss cheese was melted beautifully throughout. Every bite was flavorful, balanced, and comforting. It tasted homemade in the best way -- like elevated diner food done RIGHT. And then... the lemon meringue pie. Y'all. That pie was next level. The lemon filling had the perfect balance of tart and sweet, the meringue was light and beautifully toasted, and the crust was flaky and delicious. It's rare to find a place that nails both breakfast and dessert like that. Now let's talk about Lisa -- because she truly elevated the experience. She was warm, personable, gave thoughtful recommendations, and checked on us multiple times without hovering. You can tell when someone genuinely cares about guests having a good experience, and that was absolutely the vibe. The restaurant was clean, service was quick, and the whole atmosphere felt welcoming and relaxed. It's giving classic local diner with food that over-delivers. I'm intentionally putting this spot on Yelp because it deserves the spotlight. Garland/DFW locals -- don't sleep on this one. Support your local gems. Skip the chain. Go to Circle Grill. I had a turkey sandwich and a cinnamon roll, yall.... This is hospice food. Literally round slices from a deli package on white bread, veggies ots so you put it together yourself, not a bd for me but as I ate it was just thinking Ive made way better food myself at home, this was like.. not hospital food.. but similar. I'd honestly say hospice bc it's like I'm about to die anyway so why try? Just throw the turkey on the bread and eat it. No love or passion in this food. Really sad. We've been going to circle grill since 2002. After we moved away from Dallas, we still stopped every time we were in the area. Our go to order was chicken salad, tuna salad and pie. Even got the recipe from them years ago. While it was wonderful to see the precious kind waitstaff, the food was poor. Clearly neither salad was the made in the house version it was for years. It was premade with that weird bite of premade. The pie was premade and lower ranking than a Banquet frozen pie. Won't go there again. Sadly. Oh, and the down home decor has been gone for a while. While the owner may like the decor in the cashier area, it is not inviting. read more

To start off I've eaten here many times and everytime its a disappointment. The only reason to come here is for Cesar's great service. He always takes care of his customers and he knows what they want as soon as they come in. The food is definitely not homemade and it's too expensive. Never had a bad meal at Circle Grill. The wait staff is always friendly and attentive. I jokingly refer to them as Flo when talking to my wife about them. Lots of regulars come here and they even have their own name tags on the bars stools. Plenty of room. They have a banquet room available for rent. Great breakfast food at a great price read more

We used to drive across town to go to circle grill. But much to my dismay the food quality has drastically declined. I always loved the enchilada plate but it's now so disappointing. It doesn't have the same chili sauce on top as it has had for years and years. Ownership and/or chef changes just don't use the standby ingredients. Chili is so bland and isn't cooked long enough for the ingredients to marry. So disappointing!!! read more

This is only a breakfast review. I really love their home cooked style breakfast. The portions are good and it's very relaxed. I can tell people have been coming here for years based on the age of most of the patrons. I've lived in this area for 20 years and only last year did I come for breakfast with my boyfriend. My son and I visited Circle Grill today, for an early lunch. Karen, who was very patient and friendly and who's been at CG for 35 (thirty-five) years, was our Server. I ordered the enchilada plate and added a taco; my son ordered the meatloaf sammich w/fries :). Both of our meals arrived timely and all portions were served piping hot! The enchiladas come completely covered in chili and cheese and are served on a slate platter with metal hot plate insert. The flavors reminded me of first or second generation Tex-Mex, which is pretty much where Tex-Mex in the Dallas area started out... Which, when translated, means cheese and onion-filled enchiladas smothered in chili and cheese! A real decent Texas style chili (No Beans!) that had me guessing whether or not it was homemade. And, did I mention the enchiladas were doused in chili and cheese?!? They were! I indeed did enjoy my throwback meal, by which I paid a bit of homage to my own humble beginnings! My son's slab of meatloaf was literally an inch thick at least! It was glazed on both sides and tasty, said he! His nearly full plate of fries looked delicious and I would have tried them, but with my own large portions to contend with, I could not! Nevertheless, based on his comments, I will definitely try them next time!! To drink, my son had a Sprite® and I had a coffee (Texas is freezing cold right now, THAT'S why!). He reported good flavor with "no slime in the ice machine" and my coffee was fresh and very good! I'm giving CG five stars because of the overall food quality and taste, timeliness of being served, friendliness of staff, and cleanliness of the restaurant itself. Keeping in mind that the rating is mostly a comparison to similar dining establishments. Good to great food at good to great prices! I have driven past this restaurant for years, never thinking to stop. Got on Yelp and looked for breakfast near me, since I was in Pleasant Grove and not near my go to spots. Let me tell you, Yelp got this one RIGHT. Decor was regular diner, very nice hostess, and waitress was bubbly and smiling. But the food was phenomenal. I had the ham off the bone with two eggs over easy, hash browns, toast. That ham was delicious. But the waitress also brung me biscuits and gravy. So good. Very attentive staff. Good food. We had a four star brunch today that easily could of been five at this Dallas institution. The kid had eggs toast and bacon and she liked it all. I had the Chicken Fried Chicken which was good and fresh but a little salty for me. I love the fresh vegetables - you often find the canned version at most places so extra points for fresh carrots and fresh spinach for my sides. I don't know if the rolls were good or not - the cheap margarine they use taste very artificial and kind of ruined the rolls. I was excited to see a dessert case but then I saw all of the pies and cakes were from US foods. Also they have a butter toffee cake that they microwave that saves them 90 minutes of labor. If you are going to display the desserts in a prominent place, you might not want to advertise how unfresh they as I would of assumed they made them in house based on my veggies being so fresh had I not seen the labels and sign. It has been 20+ years since I have been in Circle Grill, but that is far too long! We stopped in to reacquaint ourselves with this iconic diner, and WOW were we glad! The Chicken Fried Steak lured both of us in, but who could've guessed that it comes as a breakfast - or a dinner?! I got the CFS with eggs, hash browns, and toast - while my coworker got the dinner version with cornbread, okra, mashed potatoes, and black eyed peas! Both were outstanding!! I've heard for years that this is a great place to get really good diner food. So we came in on a Saturday morning. This place was CROWDED. It was pretty obvious this is a way larger than most diners and all there seemed to know everyone. Even the waitress, who had worked there for a couple of decades,mentioned she hadn't seen us in before. I like that in a diner; a staff that recognizes their customers. It is a sign of a staff that cares about their customers coming back. We ordered up a large breakfast fare after getting quite a few suggestions and tips from our waitress. See gained a new customer and that must have been one of the reasons why she'd been there for years. The service was top notch even when she made a mistake and forgot to turn our ticket in. She made sure to come out and tell us as well as apologized. She caught it when she was following up to see why our food wasn't ready. Her honesty is lacking in many these days. The eggs were of good quality and the bacon was delicious! The pancakes were huge, wonderful texture and VERY tasty. The iced tea was well brewed and she kept me in ice, tea and lemons. The coffee cup was never below half full. As I was meeting the owner and his wife while checking out, a few patrons overheard we were first timers. For an old fashioned diner thats been in business 50 years it is exactly what you should expect. This is not meant for folks looking for some curated, fancy, organic, or environmentally friendly experience. Many have been working there for years. They offer a step up from Cracker Barrel and much better than ihop. I think the prices are reasonable and our service was stellar. We asked, they hustled. SUNDAYS AT NOON, a large church group occupies the back room. So if you are coming in to dine, be mindful the food will take longer. Overall, I highly recommend it. Its clean, the biscuits are delicious, the chicken fried steak was piping hot. Do not leave without trying their coconut cream pie. Only one that is housemade. read more

Entering Circle Grill is like stepping back to a time not so long ago when going out to eat was a treat rather than a necessity. Sure, it's diner food not haute cuisine, but they wait on you and you don't have to pick up your order at the counter. Decor is old school as is the service. Attentive waitresses, food that satisfies deep down, and a check that won't break the bank. While I've only had breakfast there, I can say that it is both solid and tasty. And they do hash browns the way they ought to be done. They even offer them deep fried but my cardiologist forbids me to order them. Week end mornings can fill the parking lot. But if you can find a parking spot, you'll get your meal in a jiffy. read more

Had bfast this morn @ Circle Grill and it was a yuck. Service for two consisting of two eggs, sausage patties, 1/2 cooked hash browns, toast , watered down tomato juice and coffee. The service complimented the COLD food and for this totally lack lust meal for TWO cost $33 and some change. We use to be regulars but after this morning it is agreed that we would never see inside Circle Grill again- what a shame because it use to be so good and a treat for a Sunday morning outing. I have recently been on a mom & pop diner kick so I decided to try out the Circle Grill. Can't believe I've never been here before. It wasn't too busy when we arrived so we had an easy time getting a booth. The wait staff was friendly and very helpful. The menu had plenty of choices from breakfast to lunch to dinner options. I am a huge breakfast person and I always get an omelet. I got the ham and cheese omelet with toast and hash browns. The servings were the perfect size and filled me right up. The food was served hot and was very flavorful. This will definitely be a spot I will return to from time to time for breakfast. I absolutely love this place I love the waitresses they are always so nice and helpful. The only thing that is lack luster is the HASHBROWNS. OMG it is unfair to this place for those things to be that BAD. Its like they are cooked in 10 day old Crisco shortening the after taste is really bad my father got sick on them and my mother and I refused to eat them.
