As picky as he is, it must be decent, and any place that can take care of my hard working hubby during a busy work day is great in my books. Today he gave me a tour of the drinks he likes. What a fun variety. Always clean, fast and friendly. I like the architecture. They brought a nice trend in the corner markets that are more complimenting to the community than back in the day. They really go above and beyond making a visit convenient for those on the go.

It was a mix of chips, pretzels, and packaged desserts like cakes and danishes. Many of the items were at or past expiration date, which is to be expected using this app. The few snacks I had were good and did not taste bad, so I was pleased. I got 17 items for $6.14 and it was a fantastic deal! Glad I got to save some food from being thrown away.

I was in line behind a woman who handed the cashier a large bill, which he accepted without question. When it was my turn, I gave him a five dollar bill--much smaller in value--and he stopped to check it like it might be counterfeit. The difference in how we were treated was hard to ignore. I'm a person of color and was wearing a jacket, and I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being profiled or judged based on how I looked. I've never had anyone inspect a five dollar bill like that before, and the entire interaction made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I don't know if it was about my skin tone, my clothes, or something else--but it wasn't right, and it ruined what should've been a quick, simple visit. I hope Circle K takes this seriously and addresses how their employees are treating customers, because no one should be made to feel like they're being watched or suspected unfairly.

Today was the last straw. Why bother posting mask requirements if it doesn't matter? More than half of the ppl in this store don't wear one & it's hard to argue that they have to when the employees don't even bother. The plastic shield is great, but it's not a substitution for masks...especially when I'm getting change for cash from that person, or punching in my pin # on a machine that the 3 ppl in front of me also used, but took zero precautions in the form of safety protocols for the pandemic that are POSTED ON THE DOOR AS MANDATORY. Last week a customer asked an unmasked employee if they had masks for sale, bc he needed one for where he was going, and no one reminded him that he needed one for WHERE HE WAS, so I did. I've made excuses for this location for years. But I can't anymore. I'll pay a little extra & drive a little further to QT, where safety is priority, if it keeps my family safer, and I believe strongly that it does.
