Our daughter was at CitiTots starting from 4 months; Ms Glenda and her team of teachers - special shout out to Ms. Lorna and Ms. Jessica - took care of Emmie like one of their own kids! They provided such genuine care and really helped Emmie reach her milestones. You could tell they just adored her and Emmie always looked so happy when I came to daycare pick up. CitiTots is a place that feels like a lovely intimate community in a city that is busy/transient and corporate at times. It felt like Emmie was being looked after by friends/extended family. It's a small place but the staff are so genuine and caring - we will miss everyone here very much! read more

Our daughter was at CitiTots for 6+ months until we moved her to a program for older kids. The staff cared for her so warmly: she would come home with cute new hairdos and I would find her sitting on their laps in the photos they sent -- clearly and environment full of love! Other things I appreciated a lot about Cititots include their proactivity in getting the kids outside every day (other daycares we've been at seem to look for excuses not to go out; CitiTots was the opposite), and the way they organize regular events for parents to attend, engage with other families, and get to know the staff. Cititots was a lovely experience for us. our daughter started at 5 months. She is 11 months and no longer attending because we are moving out of Brooklyn. The staff at cititots provided all the love and care you could hope for during these formative months. They without question helped her meet numerous milestones and enhanced her overall development We will miss them! The center is small, the infants and toddlers are in one room together separated by a knee wall. They do separate age appropriate activities. I found the adjoining groups to be a nice touch. As Gemma was closer to toddlerhood she was able to learn from the other group and continue to flourish. My daughter started at CitiTots Marcry Ave at 5 months and just left at almost 2.5 yrs. Although quirky, she thrived there. The program is play based and includes reading, painting, building, singing, dancing and daily walks outside (weather permitting). She made wonderful friends and had the warmest of teachers. Our baby was here for a few months before she turned 1, Cititots was great. They send pictures during the day, take the kids out to the playground in good weather, and they're responsive to questions. I called a few daycares when I was looking for infant care, and they were the most responsive to calls and emails. If we weren't moving we would definitely still be attending. read more

Our daughter started at cititots at 6 months old and was there until she turned 2 years old, until we recently moved out of Brooklyn. It was a great experience overall particularly for our daughter, she loved all the teachers and was always very excited to go to school every day. They often send pictures and daily logs in their app, celebrated birthdays and holidays and sent arts & crafts home :) They take the infants and toddlers to a very close park almost daily when weather allows and even do water play during hot summer months. We had similar experiences in the infant room and toddler room (they are in the same room just separated by a gate). We did notice that over the 1.5 years there was quite a bit of staff turnover, but in speaking with other centers and parents this seemed like it was occurring in several daycares in the area particularly in the years we were there during and post-covid. There were some communication issues with administration early on, but we found that with time and us requesting better communication, things did slightly improve over time. CitiTots is amazing. We were only able to stay at the center for a short time due to moving out of the state, but during that time we were so incredibly impressed by the care our son received. The head teacher was always attentive, available by text and sharing multiple photos every single day. The children had plenty of outside playtime, and the activities clearly had a ton of thought put into them, while still being super fun. Additionally, their COVID methods were top notch. They stuck to rigid testing measures and were active in making sure we were following the protocols. From day one, the CitiTots team was flexible, caring, and a joy to get to know. My son attended CitiTots for about 6-7 months. The daycare infant program is ok, the toddler program is better because they take them outside, but in all honesty I would look elsewhere. The staff are nice and in particular we really liked Ms. Crystal and Ms. Emily, I want to acknowledge they are good caring people, so this review does not reflect on them as individuals. There was some administrative issue and just general understaffing issues that you could sense though. There was a really frequent staff turnover rate, and we didn't get formal introductions or even emails on the new staff. So handing your baby to an unfamiliar face (outside of the few consistent workers) is jarring both for parent and infant. On days I dropped in early to pick up my son for appointments, I saw some questionable things like a child slumped over sideways sleeping in a feeding chair. Obviously against daycare regulations but child hadn't been tended to yet. My son came home with injuries that could have been prevented with better supervision, with no incident reports. I had to text the director to ask what happened to my child when he came home with a bruise on his face. Nobody even mentioned it at pick up or during the day. No incident reports. This happened with almost all the bites and scratches. Scratches okay-- but for bigger things you need to tell the parents what happened. Don't make me chase you down asking what happened to my child in your care. I once got a phone call in the middle of the day saying my infant fell backwards standing on a chair and busted his lip open HOURS EARLIER in the morning. He was a 15 month old baby, you don't blame the baby for that, and I should have received a phone call immediately in case I wanted to take him to the doctor. The cut and swelling was noticeable. Sometimes I felt my child was blamed for injuries despite the fact it was an obvious negligence issue. If a 15 month old is standing in a chair why isn't he strapped in or taken out? It's not a baby's fault, they're just a baby. I was always told he was a good kid and very even keeled so he was not an abnormal child either. They have some development assessments but the administration side wasn't keeping up with them and we did not regularly receive them. They also didn't fill out daily activity logs on many days-- and this is the main way you learn about your child's day. I complained multiple times about this because it was frustrating to feel like you aren't getting any update. I found the two main staff members to be really nice people but if they're not receiving enough help or they're overloaded with children, obviously things slip through the cracks, children can't all be supervised, and some bad things can happen. My son fell forward in a feeding chair (a separate incident) and instead of taking any responsibility I was told he must have "outgrown" the chair by the director. That's your responsibility to take care of his safety, not to keep blaming injuries on my INFANT because you weren't strapping him in or supervising him. I did not receive incident reports until the last month of care. The pros is that if they're still there-- Ms. Emily and Ms. Crystal are really caring. They have great energy and every morning looked fresh and put together and they're confident with your kids. I wish I had them as nannies! The rest was just chaotic and it was disheartening to see the director on more than one occasion blame my literal infant for getting unsupervised injury instead of being accountable as care takers. Also if you're unhappy with things going on, you're screwed out of your deposit if you take your kid out, because they have a THREE MONTH notice policy for deposits. So that's just sharing my experience. I've talked to other parents I've run into who had similar complaints about their baby being blamed. Maybe they've improved since then, we've moved onto a new school and wouldn't look back. CitiTots started caring for our now 2 year old daughter when she was only 4 months old. Finding trustworthy childcare can be a big challenge but CitiTots was one of the best decisions we made. It didn't take long to see noticeable differences in our daughter's development, even at such an early age. The only reason we left is because we moved. read more

The CitiTots people, from teachers to administrators, were extremely good to our family over the last two years. We had two children enrolled there in the infant-toddler ages. They enjoyed themselves - and had the artwork and happy photos to prove it :) We could tell from the pictures that our kids' personalities were being catered (i.e. one in a chef hat as he loved kitchen play and another taken of him humorously and predictably being grossed out by finger paint). Our kids came home with some improved circle/reading-time patience. Most importantly, it was obvious they really loved their teachers who really seemed to care for them. Through Covid, they were extremely careful and rigorous in their mitigation measures, respectful of families' situations, and available for communications about changes to pickup plans or attendance. We just said our sad goodbyes to CitiTots after being with them for over 2 years since our daughter was 5 months old (with a 4-month hiatus when they were closed for the pandemic), and I cannot recommend them highly enough. We returned with our then-1.5 year old in July 2020 with much apprehension given all the fears and unknowns of the pandemic at the time, but their covid safety protocols and their exceptional care quickly eased our anxieties. Their covid safety policies are among the strictest I've heard when comparing notes with other parents with kids at other daycares (any hint of illness, even a trickle of a runny nose, means your child cannot come in until they receive a negative covid-19 test), which at times were a pain (we had A LOT of runny nose days, what young kid doesn't?), but in the grand scheme of things, we appreciated how diligent they were about making sure the kids and staff stayed healthy. And they never had a covid incident. Also, we've always found Glenda, the owner, to be very warm, approachable, and responsive to our questions and conscientious in her management of the center. The most wonderful aspect of our experience at CitiTots was the exceedingly loving care our daughter received, first as an infant and then as a toddler. The lead infant teacher at the time, Ms. Chrystal (who has recently moved on after working there for several years), would do anything to make sure our daughter napped--from cradling her to strapping her into a carrier, while surely juggling other infants--since my daughter was a notorious cat-napper as an infant. Beyond the basics of making sure the babies were fed and watched after, I was blown away with all activities they did with the infants, even as young as 5 months old--arts & crafts, sensory play, music!--which showed how dedicated the staff were to making sure the babies were stimulated, engaged, and learning. Our most meaningful experience has been with the toddler care, especially with the lead toddler teacher, Ms. Victoria, who our daughter absolutely adored, I suspect because of the sheer joy Victoria exudes as a teacher, as well as her emotional intelligence and diligent attention to our daughter's growth development. Our daughter thrived under her care, becoming a curious, adventurous, and independent little girl, so we were particularly sad to say goodbye to Victoria. Similar to our time in infant care, I was blown away by the creativity and thoughtfulness of the toddler curriculum, which included themed weeks or months, such as "travel week" or "camping week," where the toddlers experienced simulations of traveling in an airplane or going camping and bird-watching, for example. We also have lots of creative arts & craft projects made by our daughter, which helped her develop really strong fine motor skills pretty early on. The only thing that would have made our experience even more ideal was if the children spent a little more time outdoors, but I understand that they scaled back their outdoor time at the playground down the block out of an abundance of caution during the pandemic. I think they made up for it by engaging the toddlers in indoor obstacle course play and other movement activities. Regarding general safety protocols, we had a couple minor injuries happen at CitiTots, but all within the normal range of what you would expect for a toddler. In fact, we've experienced many more bumps and scrapes while she's under our watch than while at daycare! Each incident was always well attended to, with prompt communication telling us about the issue and an incident report at the end of the day. Clearly, we loved our experience at CitiTots and wish we could have transitioned to their universal 3k program, but the timing didn't work out for us. We plan on placing baby #2 under their care next year. read more

The staff are kind and attentive, and are really invested in the child's development and well being. The kids go outside on regular basis and have lots of great toys to help them learn and play. Ms. Crystal is phenomenal and took great care in making sure that my son was able to acclimate to the new daycare environment, which was challenging in the context of covid. Communication is great; we receive many updates throughout the day and can always text when needed. It was always easy to communicate with them via e-mail or text. Even during quarantine, they remained devoted, facilitating sign language lessons and music circles. We chose CitiTots after a long search because we had some specific scheduling needs. Glenda, the director, was accommodating, friendly, open-minded, attentive, and responsive from the very start. I was impressed at how quickly she responded to our questions before we enrolled. She had just started this new location, and so we lucked out joining early when there were just a few kids. Our child (9 months old when started) has been extremely happy there. The caregivers are friendly, well-trained, creative, and thoughtful. We got lots of pictures and updates as to how the day went. They were good with our EBF baby in regards to feeding and schedule, and also completely open to cloth diapers (rare in the daycare world). They always do lots of fun activities including art. While they don't make food for the kids, it hasn't been an issue for us. Glenda and the other caregivers were attentive to developmental milestones, and when our daughter was a little slow to walk, they were very encouraging and helpful. I feel like we have learned from them as parents. The only reason we're moving on is because our child is "graduating" to their other location. read more
