I think this is a great hotel in a great location in Chicago. If you are young and attending a conference or visiting for a few days then you will love it. Very tech forward, millennial dream: minimum talking when checking in and you can check in by yourself. Everything in the room is controlled through an iPad and room Itself is pretty small. It's good for one person or for couple of you can navigate small spaces. Their shower stall is definitely for 1 person and combined with a toilet but separated with a glass door. I would recommend to buy their breakfast. They have a coffee bar and solid breakfast options like sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, lox, cream cheese, cheeses and meats, Greek yogurt and fresh fruits.

Situated in the heart of Chicago, it is a no-frills hotel that is both modern and cozy. The lobby is located on the 4th floor so upon entering this hotel, there are two elevators that take you to the 4th floor. The lobby is staffed by one employee, with a bunch of tablets for self check-in. The staff on-duty was professional and helped with the check-in, so I did not need to use the tablets. The check-in process did not take too long, only a few minutes. Since I arrived a bit early at around 8am, I was fully expecting that a room was not going to be available until check-in time, however I was lucky enough that there was one room available for early check-in. The elevators to the room are separate from the elevators from ground floor to the lobby. Walking down the corridors to get to my room, I was immediately feeling that this hotel was recently renovated as many things look new! The room itself was quite small but had everything I needed. There is a single iPad that was able to control the room lighting, curtains, and TV. These same functions are available on the mobile app if you choose to download the app. As a couple with one shared luggage, the room was just enough space, however this might not be the case if you have more luggage. While the room looked modern and new, the bedding had a sweaty smell to them that my wife pointed out. We contacted the staff at the lobby and were able to get the issue resolved. I cannot fully blame the hotel as the cleaning of bedding usually is outsourced to a cleaner. As for food and drinks at the hotel, they offer a breakfast buffet as extra add-on charge. The spread contained some hot items such as potatoes, sausage and bacon, and some cold items like yogurt, salmon, pastries, and fruit. There is cranberry juice, orange juice, and milk. They have one free coffee bar drink per guest included with the buffet. I got their mocha and it was a nicely balanced cup of coffee. As for dinner, I had a Chicken Quinoa Salad ordered from their bar. It came out relatively quick, with the ingredients cold and fresh. The salad had grilled chicken that was not too dry, but also not too moist. The seasoning was enough, and the dressing was just the right amount. Perhaps if the dressing was served on the side, guests could adjust it to their taste. For $16, it is a reasonable cost to get some greens into my body.

citizenM is our new favorite hotel. Check-in is all self-serve, even making your own key card, which I loved because it means minimal small talk. Even so, the staff we did interact with were super warm and friendly. The lobby is on the 4th floor and has a ton of shared space. There's work desks/tables, cozy lounge areas that look like super cool living rooms, a bar, and a huge terrace with plenty of seating that looks out at Michigan Avenue. It has an upscale hostel vibe. Everyone was chill, hanging out, working, reading. It felt easy to settle in. Once you're up on the 4th floor, you switch elevators to get to your room. Not a big deal, just something to know. We absolutely loved our room. It's definitely on the smaller side, but it was perfect for two people. If you have kids or more than 2, that might be an issue. The bed is smooshed up against the window so you can fall asleep looking at the city lights, which made my heart happy (especially because we caught the first snow of the season). Everything in the room can be controlled from the app or the iPad on the desk, including the curtains and blackout curtains. There's also mood lighting that you can change the color of, which was a fun add on. The shower was great. It's rain-style but also has a handheld attachment with different settings. They even have AM and PM body washes depending on when you shower, which is such a small touch but really cute. Only tiny complaint is that we had multiple towel sizes but no washcloths, which was kinda weird. The location is perfect if you want to do anything in the Loop, and they offer breakfast and late checkout for an extra fee. We'll definitely be back.

I think I liked this uber-modern, unique hotel in the loop. Even after a week or two, I'm still a little conflicted, so let me try to break it down. +Great location, walkable to the riverfront. -Doing that new thing where they pass everything on to you so they don't have to employ as many people. I was coming off of big travel delays (ie, tired and weary) and they had me scanning my own driver's license and making my own key. Stop trying so hard to be futuristic and leave these steps to hotel employees. +Cool vibes and great, GREAT spaces to work from. Comfortable seating, good WiFi, outdoor rooftop space. -Staff wasn't very friendly in my experience. Just kind of distant and aloof. +The bed was comfortable and the room darkening shade put me into a near coma. -The AC condensation dripped, and although they warned of it with a letter in the room, best they could do was offer a towel. -Controlling everything (temp, some lights, TV) with an iPad is a bit obnoxious when it kept freezing up and not working well. -I found the hallway disorienting with darkness, with only some light red lighting in it. +While the room was small, it was just what I needed as a solo biz traveler and makes sense in a busy area of Chicago. +Breakfast was INCREDIBLE. Best hotel breakfast I've had during a busy year of travel. Good coffee, greek yogurt with loads of fresh berries available, chia seeds, jam, delicious breads, sausage, bacon, the works. As a business traveler who needed to hop on calls and not explore as much, this was ideal. So to me, the good far outweighs the not-so-good, and I'd consider staying here again for sure. Again my only critiques are service related, and the fact that some elements seem to be trying too hard. But that's their brand and their choice, and nothing is that big of a deal at the end of the day.

Great location in the heart of downtown. Identical in concept and layout to all the other locations. I certainly would not pay for the breakfast. You're in Chicago!!!! So many food options that you can explore that are in walking distance.

It's what I imagine sleeping in a Tesla would be. Operated on a tablet to open or close the shade, control lights, etc. My room must have had a leak. The floors were covered in towels. It lacks typical hotel things like ice, room cleaning. It has some minimal food beyond breakfast. Location was great. Would probably choose another hotel next time.

A cute, comfy, modern hotel that is conveniently located in downtown (Michigan Avenue is right there and State Street is not too far away), with great take-what-you-need amenities available in the lobby. I made the reservation for them through their site and despite checking in close to midnight, there was thankfully one staff member on-site in the lobby (once I figured out how to get in). **Check-in Process** Once you get into the lobby, take the lift (elevator) up to the 4th floor - this is where the lobby is. Because there was a staff on-site, despite the late hour, instead of using the computers, they helped check me in and generate the key card for my room so I could go sleep. If you don't want any human interaction, they definitely have a convenient check-in process that doesn't involve any humans - courtesy of scanners & laptops that you can self-check-in. Pro-tip: If you're arriving late (and looking to check-in, i.e., don't have your key card), if it's after 9 or 10 p.m., head towards the handicapped door (to the right of the revolving doors) and ring the call sign to be let in; the revolving doors are locked after 9 or 10 p.m. **The Room** The room, as you can see from the photos feels a little small, but there is a king-sized one and tremendously comfortable if you like firmer mattresses. I do think it's perfect for one person or even a couple. There is a tinnnny fridge in the sink/counter area, but it's not the best - my food ended up spoiling unfortunately and I had to throw it away. There is no microwave in the room, but you can head down to the lobby/common area where there are microwaves. The lights (including mood lighting), temperature, TV, black-out blinds, curtains, and everything else can be controlled via an iPad provided in the room. In addition to the iPad (that controls everything) there are switches for the lights, curtains, & blinds. My view wasn't the best - I ended up seeing into the room of the apartment complex in the same block. There are two trash cans - one that has a bi-split trash by the sink and another in the bathroom Cons: 1. There was no flat sheet on the bed; just the fitted one and a blanket. You can ask housekeeping for a flat sheet. 2. If you want housekeeping every day, you have to request it; the default is to skip housekeeping until you are checking out. 3. The room I was in had plugs only by the desk, not the window side. The hotel is conveniently close to all the L lines and bus stops, the good ol' Bean, the museum campus, shopping, and so much more! I'd recommend this as a neat get-away/staycation/conveniently located hotel, but preferably for solo travellers.

I'm real particular about hotels I definitely prefer modern and chic hotels over the old money expensive with even older decor hotels. I took a trip to Chicago for my birthday and finally decide on CitizenM. The location was pretty good. I hated the self-checkin process. Like why? It was so many employees standing around. Thankfully, Marquis came and rescued me! He was super helpful before I went upstairs and found my room right off the elevator. No ma'am pressed ham. I am a light sleeper, I'm not about to do it. So I went back downstairs and another young man was looking for ages trying to find me another room. I was over it but after 15 minutes we landed on a room with an OK view. The room is cute and hella small. I knew that before booking but I was traveling solo so I didn't mind as much but definitely could use more space. Things I liked: *location *modern control system for window, tv, lighting *there was a housekeeping cart on the floor all day everyday so I did what any civilized person would do. I took a whole buncha shxt everyday lol Biggest complaints I wish they'd do better: *there was no trash can in the room outside a very small one in the bathroom. *there was no flat sheet on the bed. Fitted and blanket, that's it. I ended up getting a fitted sheet off the housekeeping cart because yuck. *bed decor is cute but probably not sanitized *iron room is efficient but highly inconvenient I don't recall getting any drink tickets for the bar like I read in one review. Idk how likely I'd return to this concept, I paid $750 for 3 night stay in June which seemed on the higher side from some of the earlier rates I saw on social media as I was evaluating the reservation.

I do not even know where to start. If my job were not paying for this stay, I would never stay here. Housekeeping seems to be severely lacking. There was a wrapper from a previous guest INSIDE the light above the bed, and the clothing shelf was dusty. I had to wipe it down myself before I would put my clothes on there. The rooms are ridiculously small. It feels like they were designed from a child's drawing. The bed is wedged against the window, so if you're sharing the room, one person has to crawl over the other to get out of bed. That's a terrible design unless you're 12. At check-in, we were told the AC vents might drip due to the heat, but it was more like Chinese water torture all night. It not a "drip" so much as a full on waterfall. The TV is controlled by an iPad, which constantly loses connection. Change the channel a few times and it freezes. Casting from your phone works but only for a few minutes before reverting to the main hotel screen. Most lighting is controlled by either the iPad or switches located by the bed which includes lights for the bathroom. Why is the only bathroom light switch next to the bed? Odd. At the hotel bar, the bartender overheard my coworkers talking about the room fridges not being cold. He admitted they know that and suggested we buy a bag of ice to keep items cold. And just when I thought I had seen it all, part of the bed frame fell off in the middle of the night with a loud bang. It nearly gave me a heart attack. It was being held onto the bed frame with magnets. What the...? Bottom line: this hotel is trying way too hard to be trendy and ends up being a frustrating mess. I would not recommend it.

Really interesting hotel! Convenient check in process that doesn't involve any humans. Great price for what you get. The rooms are small but I can't imagine you need much more. I wish there was a fridge situation or microwave but we made it work. The lights and everything can be controlled via an iPad provided in the room. You can change the mood lighting too which was fun. The only issue I found was getting toilet paper delivered. We were here for four days and ran out and when we used the iPad to ask for more they gave us a guilt trip video stating we're killing the world asking for more. Didn't love that but as an environmentalist I get it

I plan to come back to Chicago and I plan on staying here again. It was centralized to all things you need to get to within walking distance. Everyone I came into contact with was so pleasant and eager to help. The decor was fun and eclectic! Reasonably priced. Rooms were clean any everything you need. Behind the bar they had multiple seating areas, 2 of which had their own tvs. Then there was small nooks if you needed a quiet place to work. They also had multiple conference rooms as well as a balcony set up which is probably nice during the summer. As I said, we'll be back!

Don't let the three-star rating fool you. I generally love the CitizenM Hotel. I will not rehash the more in-depth analysis of their schtick I wrote when reviewing the one in Seattle. So, I'll summarize by saying I appreciate the hyper-modern technology and the very effective blackout curtains. While space is typically more limited, being a solo traveler, I don't need much. Even though I did not request it specifically, I got placed in an accessible room. This meant I had much more space, a larger bathroom, and a little foldaway bench in the shower. While it didn't have the under-bed storage, the size of the room made up for it. For a minor note: I found only one side of the bed had plugs. I feel that most people charge their phones by the side of their bed, and while it was okay for one person, were I there with another, they'd have to charge it at the desk across from the bed. As a substantial complaint, the mattress was notably hard and firm. Usually, hotels have a medium mattress, but this one didn't feel like it. It did not make for very comfortable sleep, which is the primary purpose of a hotel room. I want something where I am not tempted to go and sleep in the grass outside. Finally, some closing notes for those traveling for leisure: 1. Price - I found the nightly rate for the hotel was more than reasonable at under $200 a night for a July booking about a week or two out. 2. Safety - The hotel seems to be in a safe area with high foot traffic (lots of "eyes on the street,") and you need a keycard to access the floors with rooms 3. Location - The hotel is close to transit, the Bean, the museum campus, and other potential tourist attractions. 4. Noise - City noise from the 15th floor was minimal. Though I periodically heard a loud vehicle or a siren, this wasn't over the top or distracting. 5. View - It is possible to pay for a room with a prettier view. If you decline as I did, your view will only be on the building across from the hotel.

I spent 3 nights here in December 2024. The most important thing if you're going to stay here, upgrade to the corner room! 2 walls of windows was especially gorgeous at night when laying in bed. You can see all the way down the magnificent mile. Some things about the room: Bed- the king size bed makes the experience feel luxurious and the bed was truly very comfortable. The pillows were fluffy and did not flatten. Room size- the rooms are advertised as small, honestly it didn't feel that small. If you're out doing things in the daytime, it's definitely enough space. The room has a desk with small armchair, and a bench for seating. Everything is controlled from an iPad- the TV (channels or chromecast), room cleaning schedule, room temp, lighting (although there are switches in the room) and blackout and day curtains. The blackout curtains are excellent. Lighting- we loved the different combinations of lighting we could customize. There is separately controlled overhead lighting, reading lamps on each side of the bed, under bed and window frame lighting, vanity and mirror lighting, and bathroom mood lighting, which was fun to shower in a different color every night. Storage- there is a closet, large under bed drawer, and a safe. We fit 2 large suitcases out of the way in the closet and fully unpacked our clothes in the drawer and shelf Some things about the hotel: Ambiance- there are amazing "living room" spaces with so many things to look at! You could spend a long time walking around this mini museum. Bar and restaurant- we were satisfied with the drinks and food we got late night. The chicken nachos were huge and really good! We did not purchase the optional breakfast. Check in- check in can be done on your phone in the app, on a kiosk, or with an employee. We did it on a kiosk and it was super easy, making the room key ourselves was as easy as tapping it to the counter. We also stored our luggage at the hotel on check in and check out days. Location- right on Michigan Ave, it's a 10 minute walk to the bean and millennium park, and 5 minute walk to the magnificent mile. There are lots of restaurants (including breakfast spots), and Chicago tourist stores within 1 block of the hotel. Overall, I loved this unique (and not expensive!!) find and definitely will be returning on my next trip to Chicago. I've already recommended it to friends. Staying here was really fun!

We were fortunate to get an upgraded room with two queen beds and an amazing view out the window of the city. The window was large and clean. The beds were comfy with ample pillows. Four pillows were provided. The hotel set up is a bit awkward. Room is best for one person as lacks storage for large luggage. Plus there is not a defined bathroom. The shower is within the bedroom. Fortunately the shower was frosted but you walk right into the bedroom so you must be comfortable with those you stay with. Plus the room does really have a deck and chair to work. The desk is a fold down from the wall. The chair for the deck is located on the wall and not really suitable for long term working on sitting as does not have a back to it. The best thing above this hotel are the staff. The front desk staff are super friendly and accommodating and aim to please. The bartender was super friendly and attentive as well. Lastly parking is not available right at the hotel. You have to walk two blocks. Plus parking cost 59 dollars and that's the discounted rate. Also not really a suitable place to drop luggage off. If you pull up to the front door, you are blocking traffic. Base on price of 400 dollars the night we stayed, I would say it's not worth the stay. Maybe it's worth 200 or less for Chicago.

Okay, it was an experience going up to the lobby area to check in at this hotel, a blonde moment as I am known for if you follow my reviews. The lobby is located on the 4th floor, so be sure to choose "L" for the lobby because there is no 4th floor button listed in the elevator. Me and two other hotel guests had an adventure going up to the lobby area after trying to figure out where the 4th floor button was. My experience with the receptionist working behind the desk was nothing less than professional. Since my room was already booked through Hilton Honors, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a briefing on what is offered, and the receptionist giving me my room key. For your information, check-in starts at 4:00 PM and check-out ends at 12:00 PM! If you have the Hilton honors application, there is the opportunity to check in with the application, choosing your room, and receiving a digital key, which will allow you to go to your room contactless without seeing a receptionist upon your arrival. I have not used this method, but if you are interested in no contact whatsoever then you can use it with the Hilton Honors application. After locating and entering my room, I thought to myself this is fancy once I took notice of the design and interior color which appeared so elegant! There was a variation of vibrant colors in the room from its curtains to the headboard of the king-size bed, the carpet, and a gold chair that looked like something out of your grandmother's house. Out of all, I just could not take my eyes off the curtains which reminded me of cherry blossoms because of the colors. Inside the bathroom there were liquid products by Gilchrist & Soames Zero% attached to the wall. Throughout my travels, I have noticed that hotels have completely dealt away with the mini shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner products that made great travel hygiene additions. Along with those notable things inside of the room, it met my cleanliness standards. I had no issues whatsoever getting comfortable in the king-sized bed during my stay as my head was engulfed in between the comfortable pillows. While utilizing the shower, I really enjoyed the water pressure; its soothing pressure made me feel very cleansed during each usage. It was wonderful toggling with the spray patterns, with the addictive feel of the pressure hitting my face and body. Other things the room came with that I noticed were a comforter, an iron, ironing board, blow dryer, safe, comforter, a coffee maker (Hamilton Beach), a mini refrigerator, microwave, and USB and AC plugins attached to either the headboard of the bed, lamps, or the television cabinet, which added a nice touch to the room. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to and not once did I have any connectivity issues with it during my stay. Hampton Inn Majestic, as expected, had an exceptionally beautiful inner interior! As a fitness enthusiast, it was great having a fitness center onsite because it allowed me to keep up with my fitness routines during my stay. I must say that I was pleased to see several dumbbell weights, medicine balls, kettlebells, a decent selection of workout machines, and two peloton fitness bikes which charmed me out of my panties once I spotted them. And oh, honey did I enjoy it on my birthday with the lovely Hannah Frankson as my peloton instructor, who put my legs through torture during her low impact workout. Having the complimentary breakfast was a relief because I did not have to worry about finding a restaurant for breakfast in the morning. And I was highly satisfied with the quality of what was presented. It is served daily from 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM. For you all visiting the city of Chicago, there are plentiful sights, activities, and restaurants within a radius of Hampton Inn Majestic. As a resident, a few that I adore are Willis Tower, Millennium Park, and the Art Institute of Chicago! Next door is the CIBC Theatre, which I noticed upon my initial arrival at the hotel. And if you are looking to explore the city or outer part of the city, the Chicago Union Station, and CTA Train Station are very accessible to-and-from. I would surely book Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Theatre District again due to my experience with it because the hotel met my comfort needs, and I loved that its location is within an accessible distance of things of interest in downtown Chicago. ~ Live every moment ~ Thomas G

They have clean bathrooms upstairs and water fill stations which are always appreciated when on work trips. The staff at the desk are also pretty nice, and the rooms are pretty standard/clean like at most Hampton hotels. I don't know what my friend paid/night but she said that she was pretty happy with the value, so seems like a solid spot if you want to stay in downtown Chicago! It's not the cheapest based on Google's rates but lower than some of the other fancier hotels for sure.

Shout-out to Nia at the front desk, who was the first person I encountered when I walked in. Her energy was exactly what you want as a guest--warm, welcoming, and professional. I've spent most of my career in hospitality, so I naturally pay attention to the level of service being provided, and she absolutely set the tone for a great stay. Kudos to her and to the team that hired her. My room was beautiful. Nia also let me know I had been upgraded due to my Marriott loyalty, which was very much appreciated. I stayed in a king room, and the moment I walked in, I honestly considered extending my stay another night. The space had a sleek, modern look, everything was clean, and the lighting gave it a stylish city vibe. I ordered room service shortly after arriving and got a burger with fries (which I believe were Parmesan fries ). Everything was very good, and the room service attendant Lorena was just as kind and pleasant. Even though I was only there for one night, the experience was great from start to finish. The bed was comfortable, the linens were fresh, and the location is incredibly convenient--close to everything, which I always appreciate when traveling. I will definitely look to stay here again the next time I'm in Chicago and hope to have the same wonderful experience.

Truly a 5 star experience at The Langham!…read more I was lucky enough to be gifted a stay and had an incredible time. The hotel is so beautiful, I can see why it's ranked #3 in the nation. If you're able to splurge for club access at $200/person, you'll get to experience stunning city views, breakfast, afternoon tea, snacks, unlimited cocktails, and evening bites. We were also sent a bottle of wine and snacks to our room. I loved that they have a free spa area where you can use the sauna, heated stone loungers, and cold showers. The pool was stunning and we enjoyed swimming, just wish the hot tub was hotter as it was lukewarm. The room was great as well with a Nespresso machine and relaxing tub. Every time we stepped out of the room we would come back to a nice surprise, the room would be cleaned or they would leave the water and ice. Very attentive customer service here. Overall it was nice to live in luxury for the night, highly recommend if you're looking to splurge and relax! Hope I'll be able to stay again someday.

Both have incredible views but I would definitely recommend having at least one meal on the Miru patio if you are there during nice weather. -I was most surprised by their massive gym and has stunning views. It's also open 24 hours. They offered Pilates classes as well for an extra fee. -the hotel is brand new and all the finishes are so high end. The rooms are clean and quiet. The hallways are huge and felt like a maze to navigate but it also added to feeling of privacy. -there were so many high end details that made it extra special (the cozy Frette bath robes, welcome drinks, treat box in the room upon arrival, and the accent lighting in the room). -the location. It's just across the river from the heart of Michigan ave on the north end of a residential development. You don't feel like you are in the middle of the chaos of the city but the park, lake front and river are footsteps away. Negatives: -view was underwhelming ( fourth floor river view . Might choose the park view next time. I'd also recommend not facing the river as there was lots of honking/noise. -the room layout was awkward. They have this huge desk between the bed and tv. The full length mirror is a down a long hallway from bathroom/ where you would be getting dressed. -the room service comes on these huge heavy trays. The staff seemed like they were straining under the weight of it/ it was awkward. -I'd probably skip the spa/massage -$90/ day parking. Was able to do a spothero for about $40 next door.

So, walking from the Blackbawks shop when it's 20° isn't an easy task. Also, I wasn't able to try the Tre Dita since I didn't book a reservation in advance. Hopefully, I can schedule a reservation in the future. Plus, since it was mid-December, the St Regis had their third annual 12 Days of Sabrage, which guests of honor perform the evening ritual of champagne sabrage, which celebrates the transition from day to night. They offered complimentary toast of champagne and a Vosges Haut-Chocolate truffle. The hotel encouraged everyone to bring a new or lightly used winter clothing for children in need.
