Call center for Straight Talk in a foreign country. No help, no order number, no invoice, nothing. Went to Security Bank and was told no problem but I needed to wait 30 days to report. I purchased same thing at Walmart since it was Xmas gift. After 30 days I went in to bank and filled out affidavit. A week later Security Bank sent letter saying I was denied and was just out the money. What about the month of service for the phone that was never received nor activated ? Sorry, you are just out. What kind of bank does that to a 70 year old long time customer? You have zero protection if you use Security Bank debit card. My new bank said that should never have happened.

What kind of bank assumes you are a risk for helping a friend's social enterprise to help rural women access immensely needed mobility options to get their produce to market or their children to a health clinic? Women in rural Africa do not have easy access to transport. My friend has started a small enterprise in Zimbabwe, where she once worked for UNICEF (she worked for years with UNICEF in Africa, Thailand and China), to offer women access to a tricycle cart. The Japanese government has given her funding to start up, as have many philanthropists. But when I give her a small donation from my Chase bank, and follow through with due diligence requests to turn the donation into equity, Commerce bank gets fearful and shuts down both my accounts, including the one that my parents had opened some 60 years ago. What bank that promotes ITSELF as socially responsible would do this? What bank arbitrarily shuts down your accounts? I have never had an overdraft or any negative activity. I pay my city fees for gas and trash pick-up only from this account. Why would they shut me down? Are you next? So I called the number provided in the response but it was a switchboard number and I was on hold for 10 minutes to speak with a "representative". In short, not a bank truly concerned to discuss the situation.
