On a return trip from my Manhattan apartment I noticed my EZ pass said "Low balance" while exiting in Albany (It was set to auto refill $25.00) out of my ATM card. In the AM I went to the Port Henry Branch of Ticonderoga Federal Credit Union. Checked my account balance with the ATM and it stated "See Service Representative". Once I came through the door to make a $2,000.00 (Cash) deposit....once again a meeting about me was needed (Maybe I looked fidgety again). I was called into an office where i was asked if i had gotten the "Certified letter from the bank president" "No i had not gotten the letter my father signed for i just need to drop some money off & make a vehicle payment while i'm at it" I was handed a letter (Basically a copy of the letter I never got from the bank president) In short it stated that due to my review on YELP the Ticonderoga Federal Credit Union had chose to close my account and i can "Just take my business elsewhere" After being told "We'll print out a payment book for your auto loan" I stated "So from now on i have to bring a coupon and cash down to make a payment?" The teller replied "No your no longer allowed in any of Ticonderoga Federal Credit Unions Branches" After reading my truthful review on Yelp they retaliated by severely restricting my access to my ATM card for a number of weeks and then just when ahead and closed my account. I didn't mention anyone by name in my original review. So beware to those who choose this institution, If your mistreated and speak out about it, you can plan on all kinds of retaliation. They do have excellent interest rates BUT....... I've never had to change my name.

The interest rates here are better than at most large banks and a lot of the services that are costly at other banks are free here. They offer free checking and savings accounts and free checks. I just ordered checks for the first time and had the option of multiple colors, they even ship them to your address, all for free! It is conveniently located in town near other stores and near major highways. They also offer online banking which is great for switching money between accounts and paying credit cards. They also send out newsletters to keep you apprised of happenings and sometimes have raffles and giveaways. They have scholarships available to high school students and also make an effort to give back to the community.

In trying to understand this, I had the worst experience with a representative I've ever had in my life. Daniel from that office was beyond rude. He interrupted, raised his voice, and said that, and I quote, the customer is not right. In the conversation, he was belittling and scathing for no apparent reason. This conversation lasted briefly, and in it he told my family and I that we can expect the rest of our vehicles to be dropped shortly. He attempted to back track on this after and then became extremely defensive. Seeing a local business treat their community so poorly reflects horribly on your company overall.
