I have been a patient of Citrus Valley Internal Medicine for a little over a year. Dr Bovetas was my doctor and I think he is very good and cares about his patients. HOWEVER, some of the front office staff is absolutely horrible. I have had the same experience with the receptionist being incompetent and rude. My second visit I was 15 minutes late and they refused to see me. I thought OK, I'll give them this one. So, I booked my appointment to be their first patient of the day. They left me waiting for over an hour!!! When I asked them why the wait, the staff informed me that the doctor doesn't get in until about an hour and a half after the first appointment time! Shocked, I needed a local doctor and said, ok, this is two. I booked all my appointments around 10 am and everything ran smooth, with the exception of the rude front receptionist. This last time, I needed to see a doctor. When I called, they gave me an appointment for a week away. The day before my appointment I went to urgent care because I was getting worse. Urgent care was not able to treat me, but did process my insurance card just fine. The following day I got in my car to go to my appointment and my car would not start. I drive a 2021 vehicle and take care of it. This was a shock. I had to scramble and get a ride. I arrived 15 minutes late. I told the receptionist that I'm aware I'm late, but my car would not start, I am sick, have been waiting for 7 days for this appointment and please, please, please see me. She said I was late, and that she had checked my insurance it showed not valid. She said she called me yesterday and texted me. I gave her my new card, then she had a problem with my medicare number and unlike all the other doctors I go to, this office could not pull it up. The receptionist said "we don't do that here". Our conversation continued. The receptionist kept interrupting me, trying to talk over me. Finally told her I don't want to argue, I'll just pay cash. She went off to find someone else. Another woman came out and told me that they'd be happy to make another appointment for me but I could not see the doctor because I was late. This woman was just as non-friendly as the receptionist, with an attitude that was worse. I left. -- I checked my phone and the receptionist did call the day before but I did not have record of a text. -- I called back, saying I wanted to see the doctor ASAP, I'd pay cash, and the person offered me an appointment a week from now. I told him about the problems with the front office. He confirmed the policy for late was 15 minutes. Then he refused to make an appointment for me, without my medicare number, even though I offered to pay cash until this could all be settled, I would have my medicare number by the time of the appointment. He said no. I was transferred to Dr. Bovetas' assistant so I asked if there was a way I could get a confidential message to the doctor, I explained that I wanted to talk to the doc, but felt this was very personal and did not want to share this. His assistant said there was no way to do that. So, Dr Bovetas, guess you'll have to read it here. This office has an incompetent staff right up to the Administrator, Kathy. They do not respond to their patient portal, the chat does not work on their webpage, and they charge you to renew referrals you have already seen a doctor for because corporate greed is one hell of a drug. Do not come to this office. They are corporate, uncaring, inconsiderate, greedy, and rude. You will absolutely be waiting an hour past your appointment time to be seen and when someone finally comes in, you'll get 15 minutes at most before they toss you out and cue up the next credit card for copay collection. Avoid this place like the plague. I'd like to give it zero stars but that isn't an option. read more

Medical assistants do not answer the phone. Expect several weeks of attempting to contact them before you can get through to them. Have a serious issue that requires a referral? Good luck, you will play phone tag for at least a month. read more

My opinion is derived solely on my experiences with the medical staff and the business operation. I see William Pollock who is very good, however I often feel rushed during my visits. I think he is overbooked as I always see him moving from room to room. His assistant Reyna is very kind efficient. She too seems busy. She generally returns calls By end of the day, if not by the next day. I really like this team. I've seen PAs Jennifer Pham and Dan S. in Bills absence. I don't like either one of these PAs. Neither were friendly and approachable. My mom sees Dr Missenger. This doctor is competent and I trust her with my mother's care. She has a no nonsense approach, at the same time respectful and caring. Now for the business side of it all, they are definitely a negative 3. Referral submission is a joke. Follow up for issues relative to referrals is piss-poor. I was given a referral for a cardiologist in the medical group last week. I have left three messages in attempt to schedule an appointment. 10 days later, still no return call. I have to fight and continuously follow up for FMLA paperwork. The girl in the front has misplaced it, and according to medical assistant she never turned it in the second request. I've been waiting for 6 weeks now. The business side of Citrus Valley is terrible. I hate fighting for the care I'm entitled to. If i was so connected to Bill and Reyna I would go elsewhere, because I certainly can! PA Hailey Rutledge is such an amazing provider! I saw her for the first time a few days ago and I was so happy with my care. She truly took the time to get a thorough history from me, about my complaints and about my health overall and she did a very thorough physical exam on me too. I came in with so many complaints, as I was dealing with a lot and also had not had time to see a doctor for months, and she truly was so patient with me and gave me her time. It is tough finding practitioners these days who actually give you a through visit, and who actually think critically and consider different differentials, since usually they are trying to just get to the next patient. So I was definitely very much in awe of PA Rutledge's patient care skills. We definitely need more providers like her in the medical field. My experience at the clinic was overall great as the staff were all very nice and I was seen in a timely manner upon arrival for my appointment! read more

Probably the worst front reception staff I've ever come across! I was on hold and they hung up, I call back and they answer the phones so rudely. I needed my father to be seen asap because he had 2 allergic reaction episodes involving upper respiratory and face swelling in a 3 day span and the ER advised us to be seen that day by primary so we can receive a referral for an allergist as soon as possible. The receptionist was unpleasant and the least bit helpful. I couldn't get an appointment for 2 weeks and that was us getting "lucky". She said "see if the hospital will send you guys home with enough meds till we can see you" ...um didn't know you can give medical advice?? Overall awful 5 min phone call and just based on how hard it is to make an appointment and the staff they have in the front who is just unprofessional we will be switching primary's . read more

If I could give a negative rating I would. My husband just visited Dr. Valadez who berated and yelled at him for not getting vaxed. Even the nurses heard him. Who the hell does he think he is?!?!? I moved to the area around October of last year and it was time for me to find a new PCP. My fiance went to the office in Corona and loved the PA he saw so I thought I would come here too. When I called to schedule the girl told me all she had open was their office in Eastvale. I work with providers all the time so I know patients who work in the medical field can tend to be the worst kind of patients but I went in with an open mind. This review is STRICTLY for the provider that works at the satellite office in Eastvale. There's only one provider who works there so I don't feel the need to state their name. Just avoid the place at all costs if you can. I arrived for my appointment 30 minutes early to fill out all of my new patient paper work, I was called back by the medical assistant before I finished my paper work, but I thought no big deal she will take it from me once we are in the room and the doctor will review it before my exam. While I was waiting in the exam room I overheard another patient clear as day complaining to the medical assistant that the doctor she was seeing was very rude and impolite. Great I thought to myself as I waited, but i tried to stay positive. After waiting for about 35 minutes my new PCP walked in! YAY! NOT. The doctor did not introduce themselves, stood about 15 feet away from me like I had a disease and said have I seen you before? I said no, they said okay you're 22 I said no..I'm 28. Not a great impression right off the bat, but again I tried to be positive. The doctor never looked over the new patient paper work that I filled out (you know to maybe see my medical history, or family history or my allergies, ya know small stuff like that) I explain to them why I am there, to establish care and right off the bat they ask if I have PCOS. I don't have and have never had any symptoms from that disease in my life (which they would know if they looked at my medical history questionnaire I filled out) I asked the doctor for a referral to a dermatologist in the area and they responded with you don't need a referral you have a PPO I said I know that I meant like word of mouth if you could please recommend one...they were so snippy.. This doctor is so cold and has absolutely no type of bed side manner at all! The whole time I was in the exam room I felt like I was an inconvenience to this physician. I even tried to make small talk and ask them where they went to school. They responded with one word answers..never once asked me what I do for a living, if I have children, If I exercise. These are all things a doctor should ask a new patient. If not for their health, but to act like they actually give a crap about the patient they are seeing! and trust me this doctor does not. All this doctor did was prescribe me a bunch of medication that I do not need and never picked up from the pharmacy. Thanks to this horrible experience I am going to be making the drive to Los Alamitos that I was trying to avoid to see my amazing original PCP that I have had for years. It's a drive but worth it to feel like the doctor you are seeing actually CARES about you. So if you read this entire review I hope what you got out of it was to avoid the office in Eastvale, I cannot speak for any other provider or location just this one. We pay a lot for our health insurance in this great country of ours and every single person is entitled to feel like the doctor they are seeing CARES about them and their health. I don't know why anyone would get in to the practice if they didn't feel anything but that. Oh and last comment, when this doctor was doing the thing where they listen to you breathe I was breathing in and out and they had the nerve to tell me "You don't have to move your whole body just breathe in and out" I'm sorry but I move my whole body when I take deep breaths..this doctor is cold and too direct and has no idea how to speak to patients. I could feel the vibe in the office too, everyone working there was unhappy and I don't blame them. STAY AWAY FROM THE EASTVALE OFFICE. read more

I have been here three separate times. I saw Irene Cabral Nurse Practioner. My over all experience as a patient I was not treated with respect and I was discriminated against. I filed a complaint because I was not given the appropriate care regarding my condition. I complained to the office manager Sylvia. I had to call and leave multiple voice mails and still no response. Until I finally got through the phone system I addressed my concerns and she didn't even bother apologizing. I left this place to go somewhere else because nobody deserves to be treated this way. Without a doubt, I have had the absolute best "medical" experience here. The staff is extremely nice, very competent, efficient, and everyone smiles! My calls are always returned the same day and I genuinely feel as though I am more than a number. I see Hayley and I can't say enough about how wonderful she is. She is incredibly kind and she stays with me as long as I need. I am so grateful to her and the rest of the staff. The facility is extremely clean and organized. I've never been treated so well. This place is absolutely horrendous!! I've been trying to get a referral to a specialist for my daughter now for over a month, which btw we were told by the "Doctor" she needed to see right away, and every one they send us to either doesn't take her because she's too young or has a 2+ month waiting period. Why would you refer us to a Dr who you know won't take patients her age or doesn't have availability! I've also tried multiple time to talk to the office manager at the Dr office to get some help but all I get is the run around. I'm fed up with this place! I have been going to Citrus Valley for about 3 1/2 years. I always feel like I am getting the BEST healthcare. I absolutely love the staff at the front desk. My doctor is Tom Ku, but when I'm sick and need in, like this past Wednesday, I saw Hayley Rutledge. Wow! Super happy with my care she is very nice, professional and knows what she's doing. By later that same day I was feeling better because she gave me a shot of steroids to kick in until I could get my antibiotics at the pharmacy. Healthcare providers and staff should make you feel welcomed and should be friendly especially due to the circumstances in which one is most likely seeing them but this place is all about the money and could care less about their patients. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Cabral for about 20yrs and I absolutely love her. She is absolutely amazing. The HUGE issue is the lack of organizational skills the girls at the front desk have. My appointment was at 10:20AM and was not called back until 11:00AM and then wasn't seen for another 20mins. Tell me, WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING AN APPOINTMENT??? Thought I had finally found a new doctor. Tom Ku was highly recommended to me by the doctor treating my arthritic hip. My visit with him last October was great; he listened and refilled prescriptions and set up some annual tests. When I woke at 3 a.m. Friday morning with the room spinning and then again before 8 a.m. I was "concerned". I had an appt. with my arthritis doctor and when I told him, he said it was urgent for me to have it checked by my primary care physician. While I couldn't see Dr. Ku, the receptionist set me up for a 11:15 appt. due to a cancellation. Too dizzy to drive that far, my sister picked me up. I praised these guys all the way there from my previous experience and the way the receptionist worked me in for what I thought a minor emergency. We waited quite a while in the room but I was fine with that as they did "work me in". When this lady entered, she didn't introduce herself and had a "stressed" look on her face. She started with her computer and the first words out of her mouth were "I only treat for what I find. Understood?" (Odd?) As I have been hospitalized twice with pneumonia, she finally left her computer to listen to my chest. Then looked in my ears and nose and proclaimed "you have allergies....go buy some sudafed". I told her I was taking 12 hr. sudafed 2 times a day and using Nasacort but this vertigo was a brand new condition. She said to just keep doing what I was doing and basically dismissed me. My sister asked if my vertigo wasn't dangerous being that I live alone. The doctor looked at her very condescendingly and said "she'll be fine". After spending the weekend very dizzy, I find myself on this Monday morning still looking for relief from this vertigo. What a waste of time and money my Friday appt. was. If you are debating whether you should give this doctor's office a shot or not, DON'T. I just moved to Corona and spent a lot of time looking for a good doctor's office. Despite the reviews, I decided to give it a shot. What a BIG mistake! When I first called to make an appointment, I told them that I could only come in at 4:00pm since I'm a teacher and work in Santa Ana. Long story short, the lady I spoke to was very rude and said they couldn't accommodate me at all. I then spoke to the office manager, Cathy, which was extremely nice. She apologized and scheduled me an appointment for 4pm immediately. A week before my appointment I had to reschedule due to a work meeting. I rescheduled for 4pm today, 9/11. I get to the office at 3:40pm and was told that I missed my appointment at 3:15pm and my doctor doesn't work at the office anymore. The lady at the front desk was very rude about the entire situation. I spoke to a supervisor that was friendly, but really didn't understand the fact that I made an emphasis on 4pm when I called because I couldn't come in any earlier. All I was told was "There is no documentation that your appointment was at 4." Well, that doesn't mean that your office didn't screw it up. I'm just curious why I was notified that my doctor doesn't even work in the office anymore and why don't they give you a reminder call to prevent situations like today? I would have been less angry finding out the day before over the phone rather than in person 30 min after my appointment. In the end, I will not be wasting my time with this awful place anymore and you should save yourself the hassle. read more

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! I had a 1030am appointment and it took 50 minutes just to get in to a room and then another 45 minutes to have the doctor come in to the room!! I had to go back two weeks later for lab results and 10 minutes after checking in, my paper work wasnt up in the door for me to be in line to be called back. So I went and asked the front desk girl why she hadnt put it up yet since it was now past my appointment time. She said "oh I was just about to call you up" APPARENTLY there is a new policy that they require you to put your credit card on file with them and give them permission to charge it automatically if your insurance doesnt pay. No one bothered to tell me this when I made the appointment so I didnt have any thing with me, the girl said my options were dont get seen or pay cash for the entire visit! WHAT KIND OF CRAP IS THAT?! they have my insurance on file and know I dont have a copay or deductible! I was able to get my card and gave it to them so I could see the freaking doctor. I check my account the next day and they charged $100 to it! There is ABSOLUTELY no reason for there to be a charge on my card! I have no deductible to meet, or copay for the visit and their policy says 20-30days after visit and AFTER you get the explanation of benefits letter, if there a patient responsibility then you will be charged. And I wasnt informed of this prior to my apt at any point, nor even when checking in because the front desk girl was more preoccupied with her balloons and cake (Totally not appropriate) After calling about a dozen times I finally got a call back from the manager and she said they just learned there is an authoization hold being done on all paitent's credit cards in the amount of $100. WARNING TO ALL PATIENTS: YOU WILL HAVE $100 OF YOUR MONEY HELD FOR A WEEK FOR NO REASON!!!! Basically it came down to they don't know their new system and are inflicting these things on patients before they even know about it! The manager asked if I signed the authorization form (required to be seen by the doctor) and I said yes but no where on it does it say I authorize $100 to be held, no where on any document of theirs does it say anything about an authorization hold! DO NOT GO TO THIS MEDICAL GROUP!!! unless you like ridiculous wait times, horrible front desk staff, and dumb policies they make up as they go along.... Too bad 1 star is the lowest you can give! read more

Even though I've moved to AZ I am still maintaining my relationship with Citrus Valley. In large part this is because of my nurse practitioner Sarah. I'm not rushed in and out and handed a prescription like at so many other offices. Instead, Sarah listens and explains. I had to call Suite 209 only 5 times to get an appointment and Kayla didn't even bother to return my call ( after leaving messages for her) or call my insurance and check the benefits. First question I asked was if they take my insurance and she said 'yes' so she can tell me on call # 5 that I need authorization! So unprofessional!! Absolutely disappointed. read more

Let me start with the one (1) star is for a lady that thinks she is a nurse pract. Her name is Irene and it fits her nasty abrasive attitude. I have used this medical center a few times and I believe they are connected to an urgent care that is great in the same area. My PA retired and I have not looked for another center as assumed the entire staff would be like him, full of knowledge and kind. This woman, is horrific. No compassion, no care, cocky old bitty! Her first words to me, with my swollen eyes and frazzled hair was "you look good, why are you here?" REALLY?? Then looks in my aching ear and said did you hit yourself with a cutip? There is a little red outside but no inner ear infection. REALLY? The pain is in my ear and down my throat. She looks at my throat and said Nothing is wrong! REALLY? I have been running a fever also. She said it maybe a virus...hmmm ok. I said with my past when I am this sick I usually get antibiotics, she made a crack " Is that what ***** used to do for you?" A snide errogant rude remark about my past PA who blows this whack job out of the water. She takes a throat culter, I said well I get a seperate bill for this? She said I DONT KNOW. Well what do you know IRENE?? Not much! I started to mention my chest and she said your here for your throat and ear come back another time for that. When you have insurance we will start all over with you. MMMM yeah so you can crank the price up and make a load of dough? I doubt I will ever use this place again. I would rather go to an urgent care and pay the full $100 then deal with that B*** ever again. Dr.'s you need to take a look at this situation you have running around like poison in your office.
