Really good spot with very creative, all-vegan Asian fusion cuisine.
We stopped in for dinner on a Monday night when it was nice outside and sat on their patio. Unfortunately, they allow smoking, so that smell can disturb your meal. Otherwise, it's a beautiful area to dine and people watch. Inside is beautiful too. They have an English menu and all the staff we interacted with spoke English. They have lots of small plates and 5 big bowls to choose from, ranging from Japanese to Thai to Korean fusion -- nothing authentic but creative and tasty nonetheless. We ordered to share between the two of us:
-Rice Noodle Rolls (€5.90). These came with three small rolls mostly packed with rice noodles, with minimal avocado and a bit of tofu. The dipping sauce was tangy, sweet and spicy. Nicely done but a bit lacking (too dominated by the rice noodle and not enough other filling). 4/5
-Soy cubes (€5.90). This was somewhat akin to a Chinese or Thai lettuce wrap filling, but served with rice crapper instead. The main dish had minced soy protein, onion, celery, peanut and cilantro, with a couple pieces of red pepper. Flavoured beautifully -- really enjoyed this. 5/5
-Jackfruit skewers (€5.90). These were delicious. The jackfruit is served sort of like chicken legs with lemongrass as the "bones", spiced with lemongrass and served with a peanut sauce. The texture of the jackfruit was chewy, more like soy protein/chicken. These were awesome. 5/5
-Morii (Massaman curry; €12.50). Nicely spiced Thai Massaman curry served with a side of purple rich. The curry had broccoli, peas, chickpeas, mushrooms in it, with a side of shredded carrots. Very nicely flavoured and spiced. Great stuff. 5/5
-Yeoubi (Japanese glass noodles; €13.90). This dish almost seemed fishy, perhaps due to the seaweed. Regardless, this was another creative dish, with a soupy format: Japanese glass noodles that seemed more like Korean sweet potato starch noodles, served with various veggies and fried tofu that seemed deep fried banana-style. Very interesting dish, flavours and textures. Not sure we'd order this again but we did enjoy it.
Friendly, speedy service, delicious food, and reasonable value. However, when we got the bill, we were told that service wasn't included. I hate that European places are doing this. Regardless, when I went to pay by card, there's no prompt for tip, so I dunno what the deal is there.
All in all, recommended. read more
