Their employee caused irreparable damage to my quarts countertops during my first 90 warranty visit…read morewhen I complained about random lines on my white quarts. Their QC tech thought it would be a good idea to scrub it with barkeepers friend which completely destroyed the finish. the countertops need to be replaced since they can't be repaired and Coventry isn't taking responsibility and is refusing to replace the countertops. completely dismissing my concerns.

We built a house through Coventry Homes which was finished in January of 2016. While pouring…read more concrete for the driveway and walkway several problems were noted. The company who poured the concrete didn't properly barricade the parameter which resulted in a trades worker walking through the concrete and pulling a toolbox through it. This issue was brought up to Coventry who only corrected one portion of the problem (the foot print still remains). This item was again brought up during our 3 month inspection and again during the 1 year inspection. We were repeatedly told that this was a warranty item but a supervisor would have to come to view the damage. Before our 1 year walk-through we noticed that rebar was starting to come through the concrete and again reported this problem to Coventry during our final 1 year walk-through. We were again told that a supervisor would have to come and view this. It has now been over 2 years since we have moved in and we are still trying to have both items addressed. During the last supervisor visit we were informed that they would only repair the foot print and that we were being unreasonable expecting them to repair the location where the rebar was showing through. We provided documentation to Coventry showing the requirements for rebar placement in concrete from the both the Alberta Building Code and Canadian Standard Association which requires the rebar to be 60mm below the concrete surface. Upon providing this information to Coventry we were informed that they are refusing to follow the required standards and will now no longer be repairing the panel with the foot print either. When we spoke with John Barone, their Warranty manager, and asked if they were going to repair our drive way to ensure it meets the required code, he laughed and told us 'no'. It is extremely apparent after discussions with numerous Coventry personnel that they are unaware of the legal codes required for building a house and their blatant refusal to have our driveway repaired to ensure it complies with provincial and federal standards is disgusting. They are clearly not following the guidelines of the Canadian Home Builders Association, of which they claim to be a member.

Building my first home with this company has been a nightmare…read more They quoted us 6 months to build the house. I expected a delay but what was unexpected was when it took double the quoted time to build the house. This is not a large house, it is a 1400 sq/ft starter home! During the build they switched sales reps. The new one was a sarcastic, rude, unhelpful, jerk, who drove friends of ours away from buying homes with Homexx. I almost wish he was our sales rep, so that we had never built with them. The blamed everyone but themselves for the delay. Trades, Weather, and they apparently went through several site supers who managed the development "poorly" and they told us the new site super that was taking over was supposed to "clean up the disaster". He did not last very long and we only met him on our possession walk through. We finalized our build decisions and choices on November 2013, once we finally did take possession on October 29, 2014 the real problems started. We started dealing with their Service Coordinator. She was next to impossible to reach and when we finally did get a hold of her, she told us things were "scheduled to be finished in the next couple weeks" two weeks later when nothing had been done we would call back and she would blame the site super and say she was not the one that scheduled the trades but she would refuse to give us his contact information. She would tell us she would speak to him and get back to us but then we would not hear from her for weeks. When we got in touch with her the cycle would start all over again. "its scheduled to be completed in the next couple of weeks" nothing would get done, call in two weeks, and she would blame the site super. ARE YOU KIDDING!??? This company's customer service is atrocious. They couldn't be bothered to answer any questions you might have and it feels like a fight to get any level of commitment from them just to do what I paid them to do. It's a good thing I'm handy because I have resorted to fixing all the issues myself just so they get done at all, let alone in a timely manner. For example, it is now August 2015 and the front of our house has finally been painted. I can't even imagine what it would cost someone who isn't capable of doing repairs and renovations themselves. The only person who has ever been able to provide us with any answers was their sales manager. And getting in touch with her took a review on their facebook page and a complaint with the better business bureau. Take my advice. DO NOT BUILD WITH HOMEXX HOMES.

We had very specific needs and needed to find someone who took our needs to heart . Thankfully we happened upon Riverside and met Corrinna with Reid built homes . She met with my husband and I and went over the process step by step. She was patient and understanding of each and every little question, concern and change order. She gave us solid advice when something was a good idea and steered us away from things we might regret, After all this was our first time and this wasn't her first rodeo! She introduced us to an amazing group of people I now call my neighbours and forever friends. Reid has built us a solid home for us to grow in. We were able to watch it from the ground up and address everything as it went up. Of course there were minor tweets when the warranty inspection came up but Reid's gang came in and went above and beyond. They repaired patches in the wall where the moves had a opps. A shelf in our fridge came broken and Corrinna had a new one to replace it within a week! Home sweet home in riverside, thanks Corrinna and Reid built !

The sales process was not a great experience…read more Their design center was not overly helpful and upgrades were over priced in my opinion, but they did have very nice affordable stuff. The build process was frustrating. They don't let you in your home at ALL during the build don't bother asking, not even 2 weeks early to measure for blinds. Final inspection and service work have been great. Quality of the finished home is excellent which is the most important part.
