So you know where I'm coming from...I visited Faith Church for the first time today. I'm sad to say…read morethat I had to walk out, I didn't feel comfortable with what was being preached on the platform. During the sermon when Pastor Jones was preaching, he related Satan as the 'bad guy' in the Bible & how he's a lot like The Joker & Darth Vader along with other villains. Then he shows clips of the movie: "Batman Begins" during his preaching. He read 3 scriptures in the 20 min. we stayed listening but he didn't interpret the scripture or explain much from The Bible or preaching from the word of God. He continued to talk about (his own thoughts) & different characters in movies along with relating it to our daily lives. I wanted to give the Pastor the benefit of the doubt & that's why we stayed as long as we did. I didn't want to walk out but I was very hurt & felt ashamed. It was appalling to me that they would show a movie that had nothing to do with Jesus or our God...& on the platform of the church that's in God's house! I learned more about Superheroes & Villians than anything else. I want to learn about scripture, understanding the word, & growing spiritually in my relationship with God & I don't feel I received that from this church. Maybe today was different from the Pastor's normal teachings, maybe he was trying something new, I'm not sure exactly but I wish this church the best of God's blessings.

I might be a tad biased, but I am drawn to how real this place is. We make a concerted effort here…read moreto allow people to "belong, before they believe." We have people here that are at all spots in their faith journeys - who feel welcome to explore Jesus wherever they are at. I also love how engaged we are in the community - we recognize that to truly love our neighbor, we have to be out in the community serving, than in our buildings. Come check us out!

I came here for their Easter celebration (I was a vendor) and it was the best thing about my weekend. The people here are incredibly nice. The people running the event as well as the general members of the church are so caring and friendly that I felt completely at home among this group of strangers. Their service was the kind that gets you full of energy and ready to take on whatever you need to for the week. They are very musical and are up to date with all of the current technology needed for a good presentation. They had the service broadcasting live on flatscreens in other parts of the building. No matter where you were, you were part of the service. The Easter celebration had an elaborate glow in the dark Muppet show. It was set to a gospel song and was easily the best thing I have ever seen in a church, ever. They had a photo booth, popcorn and cotton candy vendors, face painters, and platters of different foods and drinks. This curch is such a cool place, I would highly recommend giving it a try if you're in the area.
