Just so people are tracking. City Mill now requires a receipt with every return. No more looking up your credit card to identify your prior purchases. This will definitely decrease my likelihood of shopping here since I am the type of person who overbuys when I have a big project, then returns the unused remainder. I'm not terribly good with small pieces of paper and I don't want to be left with piles of stuff I don't need.

At my part-time job, one of our electronic devices was giving us staff issues that was compromising customer service. We tried to troubleshoot with 2 different companies where we had to wait 1 week before we could have a technician come down and upgrade our outlet. But while I was troubleshooting, I did noticed there was some sort of connectivity issue so I decided to take a chance for a short term resolution. My immediate thought was to go to Walmart but then I wanted to support local, so I headed to City Mill (CM) on my way to my part-time job. Located between Hyundai Windward and Sherwin-Williams Paint Store, this was my very first time to step foot into this CM location as I usually go to the Nimitz location that is closest to my home. I have driven past here multiple times when I get off Kahekili Hwy when it's congested. I arrived on a Saturday morning to a semi-empty parking lot. I was impressed with the cleanliness of this store and started to look for my line chord. After going through multiple isles while reading their signs, I gave up and decided to ask an associate for assistance. I'm glad I did because he escorted me to the section and politely gave me my options (short or long chord). I didn't have leisure time to browse around as I was pressed for time, so I made my way to the cash register. It was quite long but was impressed on how quickly the line moved. It's interesting how the check out section has a great selection of Scooby snacks, and I was sure tempted to grab some chips (I was a weak spot for crunchy Cheetos) but had to refrain myself from doing so. LOL... In response to COVID, CM has online shopping where they offer in-store and curbside pick-up. They even have a couple of reserved, designated stalls. Overall, a very satisfied experience where I purchased what I was looking for. I appreciate the associate who assisted me. I wouldn't hesitate to come back to this CM and support local businesses. NOTE: The line chord resolved our issue short term until we upgrade to a better service a week later. 2022 #10

Checked out the City Mill located in Kaneohe. I was looking for a small step stool and to my surprise they have about 5 different types. Notice at that location everyone greets you . While I was walking around I got stopped by 2 sales associates if I needed help. Very friendly and helpful at this City mill location compared to the other locations. Support local be safe and still wear your mask

Support local! When I read reviews by Ed L. of Honolulu, I admire the way he encourages us to support local. Our small businesses have challenges during these economic times. That's why I like to shop at the Kaneohe location of City Mill. The staff are so helpful here. I had questions about home improvement and they came to my aid! When I asked about the return policy, they treated me with respect! I first shopped here when I moved to Kaneohe. My new little house needed a Christmas tree... City Mill was convenient, had free parking, and carried a great selection! When I sold my little house, City Mill had the cleaning supplies that I needed. When I bought my second house, City Mill had the tools for my contractor for renovation! Overall, City Mill is a great neighbor and community friend! We'll be back to support local!

Nice, small store for all your essentials. Located in between Sherwin-Williams and Hyundai. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Parking can sometimes be a challenge but when it's really busy there is someone directing traffic. Their garden section is decent and there is always a sale going on. There's a separate section on the side to park and load your bigger items.

Strong stuff... When…read moreyou get crafty many times I head to the hardware store as what I call beginner tools aren't just enough like I have my Dremel to drill, PVC pipes to make a photo backdrop, chains for a makeshift lock as being creative not only does saves you money but solves issues in the simplest ways that works. Today it was a simple just some acetone as I wanted to wipe off paint and the basic store bought stuff just won't do it and as small as this shop seems to be they do have it all and was very easy to find than the larger ones as it literally took me a minute to find it and a minute to reach to the register without a wait and was on my way faster than taking the needed pics to show off this great Kailua location. If needed staff is very easy to find here but as I knew exactly what I wanted it was okay and parking in the back is spacious with short walks to the automatic doors is just nice to have a quick spot to find exactly what you need without being lost as I finished my project so easily. Thank you!

Five Star Employees here with a great selection and reasonable prices. Military discount for all my fellow Veterans out there too!

Tale of the 10 minute lawnmower:…read more Purchased a Toro Recycler 22" 150cc Personal Pace auto-drive lawnmower with a 3 year "Guaranteed to Start" warranty - Briggs & Statton engine (Literally labeled "Guaranteed to Start" on TOP of the mower) for $499 + tax. Got it home and the lawnmower ran for 10 minutes. Dumped the clippings into a garbage can for my mulch pile and it wouldn't start. (Luckily, I still had my old mower and finished with that.) Took it back to Ace the NEXT DAY after purchase and requested a refund. They said they would have their mechanic look at it. I received a call from the mechanic who said he checked the oil, gas, and air filter and that he got it to run for 10 minutes and that the lawnmower worked perfectly and that I should come pick it up. I said that I know it will run for 10 minutes. However, their "Guaranteed to Start" lawnmower won't restart after 10 minutes and that I wanted a refund because I don't expect to pay $500 for something that doesn't start after 10 minutes. He said that it works as designed and that I should come pick it up. - So, it's designed to start, run for 10 minutes and then not be able to use it again? I'm not sure how other people mow their lawns, but I've never mowed my lawn for only 10 minutes a day, and when something says it's "Guaranteed to Start" I expect it to start again after dumping the grass clippings from the bag. I also don't have space at my house to keep 10 lawnmowers so I can mow the entire lawn at one time, (not to mention the required $5,000 investment to do so.) So as of now Ace has the 10 minutes lawnmower with the receipt, but won't issue a refund for the return. I contacted Toro who said I would need to ship it to their Service Center with the original receipt for inspection before they would discuss my cost of repair for "Warranty" work. You know... typical after you use their product for 10 minutes. Maybe the $6 worth of parts are covered but shipping, mechanics time, etc. is on the purchaser. I don't expect to pay $200 to repair something I JUST PURCHASED as BRAND NEW. If you've gotten this far: - This location is super convenient, and the staff (with RARE exception) has always been SUPER friendly and helpful - including the mower mechanic who called me. Even when they didn't stock what I was looking for. Lots of good things to say... EXCEPT when it comes to the "10 Minute Mower".

Shout out to Kayli for all her help last night…read more So the other day I was cooking dinner for my dad & when I went into his refrigerator, I noticed it didn't seem that cold? But when I checked the freezer, it appeared that it was working properly. I asked my dad if the fridge was okay? And he in turned told me that it was, so I really didn't think anything more of it. Several days later, after shopping for some food for my dad, when I was putting some produce items into his fridge, I again asked him if the refrigerator was okay, then he finally told me "maybe something was wrong". I rechecked the settings on the refrigerator, rechecked the vents from the freezer, seals on the door, and everything appeared to be okay. Being that my dad's refrigerator was 11 years old (I remembered buying it in 2014), I guess it was time for a replacement. Luckily for me, November has rolled around and since a lot of folks will be feasting towards the end of November, "Black Friday" sales have started & Home Depot has their big "Black Friday" sales event for the entire month of November. At first I went to Best Buy, because I purchased the refrigerator & stove from there back in 2014, but upon arriving there, I couldn't get any help so I left the store & headed across the street to Home Depot. Upon lookin' at the fridges, I found a fridge that would fit in my dad's kitchen space & looked for a clerk to help me. Luckily I came across Kayli, and she was so helpful in processing my transaction. Timing was just right for me, as the delivery of the refrigerator was FREE due to the Black Friday sales, and I only had to pay $50 bucks for the removal of the old refrigerator. The refrigerator I purchased was in stock, so Saturday they will deliver it to our house. How's that for great service???!!! Much MAHALO Home Depot, and Kayli! You really helped us out of jam, as I realky needed a running refrigerator, especially since Thanksgiving is just around the corner!
