Great to view. I was fortunate to have an opportunity to come in and take a look during an open house weekend held at Melbourne a few months ago. You would be forgiven for thinking you are in a dungeon for a bit as you adjust to viewing the exhibit of the gold rush underground. Weddings are conducted here, and there is a decent amount of Melbourne's history hanging out to be discovered and appreciated. You will feel a bit like royalty when you come to visit this piece of Melbourne's and Australia's history come the gold rush era.
View real gold bullions, and pieces of gold with audio and imagery to succumb to the senses and learn. The rest of the experience was a bit of a blur. The architecture and aesthetic appeal is beautiful. The exterior reminds you of an entrance of an old art gallery type scene; however this building needs to be open up sesame inside to be appreciated.
Surely the City of Melbourne might run another open house next year for show and tell. Not far away from Treasury Gardens and the Victorian Parliament House on Spring Street as you head towards East Melbourne and Fitzroy. read more
