I would give this place 5 stars were it not for the fact that they nicked my dogs nip on the belly shaving for the mini grooming. You could tell more irl that it was cut a bit and had blood smeared. My dog seemed super happy to be there and walked right in through the dog gate to the back. When I was talking to the woman at the register she said that she (my dog) acted like she knew the drill and walked right into her kennel/cage which is incredible because she hates water or baths and usually tries to make a run for it at least she did when we would take her to Petco. Super friendly and helpful staff and extremely reasonable prices ($110 for an XL? dog: mini groom/teeth brushed and clipped nails included)l. My dog is usually between 105-110 lbs). They did SUCH a good job clipping her nails. Even the vets we've seen in the past can't do a good job and sometimes miss nails altogether. They did a wonderful job. Would come back and skip the belly shave. Parking is a loading zone at the front of the shop. It's "downtown" Raleigh but like on the outskirts so it's not too busy and it isn't difficult to get a parking spot if you go in the morning. Drop off is between 8-10am. This is the second time that the owner has refused to talk to me personally in regards to the bad service that I get for her not being present to help her employees to check in dogs. I have nothing bad to say about the groomers because they just follow directions that are written down but this is the second time that my Yorky does not get a haircut that I asked for. The first time they did not cut barely anything which again the groomer had left by the time they called me to pick up my dogs and she wasn't there to correct the mistake so they trimmed a little bit off which was again nothing and today when I drop them off I literally repeated it maybe five times to the owners husband that I did not want the last haircut done on my dog because I did not like it and I told him that I wanted all my three dogs cut the same and again they did it wrong. How are you gonna have someone checking in dogs and also on the phone trying to multitask when there's a lot of chaos going in at drop off. I asked for her to speak to me because I did not want to go out of the store paying for service I did not get and the owner asked me to just bring the dog in the next day which that means that I have to waste some of my time to get a correction done when it should've been done correctly the first time. I don't have time to drive 30 min one way to drop off dog and then wait for hair cut. All they did was shower my dog put a bandanna on and trim his nails but if there was a haircut done it was definitely nothing and how do you expect me to pay $60-$65 for service that I did not get. I let it go the first time and I said to myself you know what mistakes happens but for it to be the second time that's absurd. Store owner if you're reading this please ask your husband that always is the person that handles the dogs at drop off to the groomers that I literally told him that I did not like the last haircut and I wanted all my dogs cut the same. My females got a perfect haircut minus my male as you can see on photo. Like you mentioned that you have recording of me stating the kind of haircut I want it why wasn't it done I literally asked for my dog to get cut the same. Why would I let another groomer in your facility try and fix mistake of dogs hair which the first time that' I didn't like it I was not pleased with the redo. Like I mentioned before I can't go and assume that every session I'm gonna have the same issue and I let it go and expect it more this time but unfortunately it failed again. They offered a scissor cut and that's not what I want it as you can see my other dogs do have a scissor cut and also have the razor trim if they would've offered to cut my dogs hair exactly like my others dog why would I say no! They told me that I was supposed to come tomorrow for you personally to cut my dogs hair and like I mentioned I do not have time to go and get something corrected that should've been done correct the first time. I am not trying to hurt your business I'm just talking facts of how I was not pleased with the service I received today. read more

They never let me feel bad about his tangles. Even when I had an issue the owner resolved and followed up, which these days it's hard to see anyone take accountability with integrity. Last weekend I called on Saturday about 12:00 and asked if there was any way possibly to get my Zeus in for a last minute grooming, and they accommodated us! I was so happy. This was the first time we've been to City Pet Grooming and let me tell you, I was absolutely pleased with the service that my Zeus received! The ladies in the shop were so kind and attentive the entire time. While there I noticed they had hemp treats. For some time now I have been wanting to attempt this method of therapy with my Zeus due to his herniating discs. He basically lives on pain medicines and had been debating on trying hemp or CBD treats instead of medications. I wanted to test the waters and get the sample Pack. I stopped the pain medications and started giving Zeus 1/2 treat (he's only 8 pounds) every other day and his pain is gone! Guys. This was such a god send. Even with pain medicine he would remain sensitive on his sides and back. Since starting these treats, he is pain free and he is so happy! I've noticed a big difference in his attitude, his alertness and his anxiety. A+++! I went in yesterday and purchased a full size bag! My 6 month old received his very first cut today. After brushing him out this morning he looked great and I almost canceled his grooming appt. I didn't. I brought him in and was hopeful that I was going to get what I wanted based on the conversation I had with the manager while making the appt. She expressed that there was 30 years of experience in the office and they know what they are doing. When I returned to pick my baby up he looked like a pitiful old lady with a hat on.. like one of the Golden Girls. I was horrified and hurt. I wanted to cry. He was supposed to look like a teddy bear. I left a picture for them to go by. I explained it over and over and still got awful results. All I was offered in return were "rehearsed" apologies and a request to pay the full bill. I walked out feeling let down. My sweet baby giant came back to me as beautiful and HAPPY as ever! My small chihuahua-yorkie-pom came in for a haircut and grooming session last week around 9:30 AM. The main entry interior of the place is quaint, well-furnished with a welcoming decor of pet products, clean wooden floors, and a comforting two-seater with pillows, which my dog immediately jumped on from excitement. Beyond the main entry is several tall bathtubs (non-intimidating) that look modern. Unlike other grooming places that are more dirty looking and cheaply furnished (which frankly gives me anxiety), this one was very well-kept, neat, clean, and modern - nice enough for humans to get "groomed at." I was told that my dog would be ready in a few hours, but she was ready sooner than that - which gave me peace of mind. There were also only a small handful of other pets there, which was a good sign and meant my dog wasn't being quarantined in a room full of barking, anxious dogs. The owner also spoke expertly on how "she handles" the dogs - most likely with an assistant or two, so she seemed very hands-on and invested in her craft, instead of just managing the front of the house. When I arrived to pick up my dog, I was beyond happy to see that my dog got the perfect haircut (for a "Pom" lookalike, it's hard to get the right length since I don't want her fur too short but also don't want her fur too long) with super soft, fluffy texture, and a sweet Labor Day (US flag) colored bow. She smelled heavenly - for going on a full 7 days. The perfume they use on the dogs smells like fragrant, luxurious floral perfume. My husband agreed that she has smelled amazing for days now. That's a record in my book. Her breath also smelled very clean and fresh. The owner kindly handed me the brand new toothbrush that was used on my dog during the grooming service. Every time I look at my dog and take her out on walks, I notice how fresh, beautiful, clean, and fragrant she is... and I have this groomer to thank for this positive, amazing experience that has lasted a full week now. I will definitely be coming back in 1-2 months. Thank you for such exceptional, professional, and thoughtful service. Not to mention, the price was very fair and comparable to other groomers ($55) in NC and DC. Amazing! read more

I called Cory Pet Grooming and Carrie was able to fit me in the next day, whereas all other groomers I'd called were booked weeks out. For $45 (better price than any other store front groomer I'd checked), Rylee received a wash, nail trim, de-shed, gland expression, a bandana and Carrie even threw in a complimentary cream conditioning. It's a little far from where I live, but because of the quality and quick service, central location, I'd recommend City Pet Grooming to anyone with a pooch. read more
