Awesome laundromat in Munich. You pay at the machine by choosing the number of the corresponding washer or dryer.

Very clean laundromat- it's Germany, after all. So, our hotel charges 15 euro for a pair of jeans and the prices just got crazier from there. We looked up this laundromat chain and were very pleasantly surprised. 4 euro for the wash and 2 euro for each 10 minutes of drying time. Detergent and softener are each 1 euro.

This "waschcenter" is about 2 blocks from our hotel Flemings near the Central Train Station. The facility is open from 7:00 am until midnight everyday, and they offer drop off service if you don't want to wait. In addition, they offer dry cleaning and shirt pressing in 24-hours. Supposedly they have a facility at the Central train center, too. Here's what you do: We picked a washing machine, loaded the clothes, remembered the machine number and go to the pay kiosk. The regular washing machines were €2,00 to wash (jumbo loading machine €4,00). The kiosk did provide change by pushing the red button on the top. Adjacent to the kiosk was laundry soap that dispense in a cup for €0,50. After paying, we went back to the machine to add soap, and selected the cleaning cycle. After the wash was complete, we used one of the blue containers provided to transfer the wet clothes to the drying room. Just like in the wash cycle, you select a dryer, pay the kiosk for the correct machine, return to the dryer and select the heat cycle. It's €1,00 for 10 minutes and it took 3 cycles to completely dry our clothes. No one likes to do laundry, but I did have a positive experience using this place. Now we have clean clothes for the second part of our trip!

The place was clean and the instruction were also in English. Had soap and softener dispenser but no bleach. The dryers don't really get as hot as you'd like so it takes more money than it should to dry your clothes.

Very clean self service laundry. Machines were well maintained and easy to use. We assisted other tourists that had found the location.

Clean space and very helpful signage for foreigners using the laundry mat. Safe street and convenient to a lot of hotels.

The cost was similar to all laundromats I've been to recently: 4 Euro to wash and 1 euro for 10 minutes of drying.

It was another overcast day, so we decided to do a load of laundry, consisting of a 4 pairs of jeans, a bunch of shirts, socks and underwear... Filling up a relatively large reusable bag I had brought from home. We located a city "waschcenter" on Yelp, which was about 2 blocks from our hotel. The facility is open from 7:00 am until midnight everyday, and they offer drop off service if you don't want to wait. In addition, they offer dry cleaning and shirt pressing in 24-hours. Supposedly they have a facility at the Central train center, too. We were there on a Thursday around 11:00 am and there was only 1 other couple there, who were Americans visiting from upstate New York, and they stop here during their annual visit to the city. They walked this rookie though the process and we chatted while waiting for our laundry. We picked a washing machine, loaded the clothes, remembered the machine number and went to the pay kiosk. The regular washing machines were €2,00 to wash (jumbo loading machine €4,00). The kiosk did provide change by pushing the red button on the top. Eco-Express Stopped…read moreby at Eco-Express on July 27, 2018, for my first German public laundry experience ("Waschsalon") as my hotel did not have laundry service. Using Yelp as my guide, I walked the 1.2 km from my hotel to Eco-Express. Upon arrival at Eco-Express, which is located in a good neighborhood, I found a very clean self-serve laundry facility, with 20 washing machines but only 8 dryers. There was no attendant. All of the signage was in German, but luckily with self-explanatory diagrams that even I, as a native English speaker with no German, could understand. (Yes, it would be nice if there were English signs up, as several people came to Eco-Express while I was there, all of whom were English speakers and all of whom were trying to figure out how the laundry worked). So how does the laundry work? You put your clothes & detergent into the clothes washer, note the machine number, go to the central payment machine, put in money (coins or €5 or €10 bills), push the button corresponding to your washing machine, then walk back to your washing machine, select the cycle, push start. My colour wash cycle, on what I assume was the medium temperature, took 45 minutes. If you need detergent or softener, you get it from the detergent vending machine located right beside the payment machine. Same process: you put your money into the central payment machine, push the button for either colour clothes detergent (colorwaschmittel), white clothes detergent (vollwaschmittel), or softener (weichspuler). The detergent vending machine then fills the little blue cup, you take the blue cup to your washing machine, pour the detergent into the washer machine's detergent compartment, and then return the blue cup back to the central detergent vending machine. The dryers work the exact same way. Load the dryer, go to the central payment machine, insert your €1, push the button that corresponds to your dryer, return to your dryer, push the button for the cycle you want (there are 3 heat settings), then push start. For €1 you get 15 minutes of dryer time. Note: the laundry does not sell anti-cling or dryer sheets. Cost for one load of laundry in the washing machine was €3.50, detergent was €.50 & dryer was €1. There is no "drop off" laundry service here. Note: washing machine is €3 per load before 10 AM. Hours of operation are 6 AM to 11 PM everyday. There are no washroom (toilet) facilities. Overall, easy once the process is understood.
