CityPlace is a vibrant space with the Eataly, restaurants and coffee shops to include Starbucks and retail stores such as Lululemon, H&M, Urban Outfitters, Alo and Sunglass Hut. CityPlace also has an open air area perfect for lounging and listening to live music and entertainment. There is also a water fountain where the kids can cool off on a warm summer day. We didn't get to venture too far and experience all that CityPlace has to offer. I hope to return to visit and indulge in the featured immersive arts and events available. read more

Every time I come to city place I see something new that wasn't here last time. There are lots of new high-end shops that have opened. Pop-up bagels and Moxie are now going strong here. There is new construction with residential high-rises coming up in this area as well. read more

CityPlace is a wonderful spot for shopping and family time! The location is perfect -- everything is within walking distance: Starbucks, cute clothing stores (including kids' shops), ice cream shops, and great restaurants for every taste. Our kids especially loved the splash area near the "Wishing Tree." It's the best place to cool off during the hot Florida days -- and in the evening, the tree lights up in beautiful colors. On weekends, there's live music and fun activities -- we were lucky to catch a great band playing while parents relaxed and kids had fun! During our visit, there was also a pumpkin patch -- beautifully decorated, even though we caught a bit of rain, the kids didn't mind at all. Parking is paid (about $11), but the exit is super convenient -- right into the plaza with the Wishing Tree and splash area. There's also a restroom near the parking elevators -- always very clean. We truly enjoyed our time here and will definitely come back! read more

It's hard to rate this place right now. I used to come here years ago and it was really nice. They are sort of under construction. Heck, Cheesecake Factory is even moving down the street. (They should have reopened yesterday actually) There are still some nice restaurants and stores. I love the open and airy environment. It is annoying right now because several large spaces are unoccupied, such as the old Macy's. The good part is the redesign looks very promising. I believe it will be really nice. And now, through the holiday season, Bal Harbour shops has a pop up area. The stores are small but they have one of their mainstay restaurants here as well. (I forgot the name) I would say Cityplace is worth going to, even now. Go check them out. :) read more

11/14/24- 12:30pm Citiplace! We were almost run over by 2 teenagers on bikes doing wheelies and terrorizing me my dog and many others.. some tourists who will not return! They did not feel safe! The kids were yelling and threatening.. this is literally the 3rd time I've been terrorized by bicyclists speeding up and down the sidewalks! Outside the new luxury rental on the corner of Hibiscus and Rosemary! Enough is enough! If you can't protect your local residents and tourists during the day on a weekday how can you attract more tourists to your restaurants and now pickleball players! I'm shocked they were able to stay around riding at high speeds ! I will warn everyone I know. I did report it to the guest information booth by Il Bellagio. 5 star ambience and 4 star service. A very well-designed "new downtown" for West Palm, The Square (formerly known as Cityplace, then Rosemary Square and now just The Square) mimics a first floor shopping, second and third floor living above the shop look and feel. In reality it's an open air shopping mall with outposts of most major national chains. The area has filled in over time with a Brightline high speed rail station, condos and office buildings. It now feels more populated and lively than the actual downtown of West Palm on the other side of the railroad tracks. The restaurants are also very convenient for events at the convention center and Kravis Performing Arts Center. They've taken care to include some knock-out public art. My favorite is an actual dead tree trunk that has been been refitted with plastic jade-like artificial leaves that light up at night. In the center, there's also an old church that still holds services and also doubles as a theater. The only real drawback was the nonexistent service for the overpriced parking (why would a shopping mall charge for parking anyway? :), and the poor service when asking for directions or help of any sort from the center staff. read more

My dad retired from the West Palm Beach police force and when he lived here we always found time to walk around what's now called The Square. I was on vacation recently with my wife, her sister and husband. I told them we need to spend some time and visit The Square. Lots of changes! They are building like crazy with the focus on more residential units. It was nice to see the fountain with children and families occupying the space. The restaurants and surrounding shops are nice, we were able to walk into a restaurant and get a table for four with no reservation. I'm not sure if there is live music but The Square seems like a live band would be welcomed by all. The shopping experience is interesting, I see a lot of vacancies and I'm not sure why. I'm figuring the foot traffic will warrant high end retail stores but sadly that is not the case for 2023. If you're flying out of West Palm Beach Airport, spend some time here before your flight. The airport is very close. read more

I would have given this place more stars in the past. They are now removing the AMC movie theatre to make way to an office bldg. So this is not really a place to have a life style this is a place to shop, dine and go home. They need more stores and more places to go into. Doesn't have a warm feeling any more unfortunately. Clearly they don't want younger people to go here (since the movie theatre was a go to). I do like the pedestrian only area however they took away the stage and now it is a fountain for kids. I also wish there were more dining places that appealed to more. How do you have a Japanese sushi place with no sushi ? Saito. El Camino is very loud. And so we usually end up at the small Italian place on the side street which serves excellent salad. I now only come over here when I am going to Kravis for a show. read more

The Square is a picturesque area that is lively with shops, restaurants, and activities. The center of the entire area boasts an enormous tree lined with LED lights that change colors. During the summer, they have active water spouts in the ground for kids to play in. They also bring out snow machines as well. In winter, they have a variety of food trucks make an appearance with warm holiday snacks. The restaurants around here are all incredible and not super fine dining, allowing it to be accessible to all. The shops are more on the higher end. Parking is so simple, and I personally recommend parking in the Hibiscus garage. It's affordable and connected right to the entire area. read more

I am so annoyed at how they do the parking. If you are in before 5pm, the first hour is free. After that, I believe it's like $5 for the first hour and then an additional $1 for each additional 20 minutes. Yesterday I was there for a Yelp Elite event and I was in before 5:00 and by the time I left at 8 pm I had to pay almost $14 to park. This is what gets me, had I got there after 5pm my flat fee to park would have been $7. One would think if you're in before 5 pm and you stay past that one hour that is free, then the flat fee of $7 would just kick in. They have to do something about this it's ridiculous this is what prevents me from coming to city place because the parking is outrageous. This is why I do not come to happy hour at City Place anymore. It is no longer happy after you pay the ridiculous amount of parking. read more

This is the absolute best weekend spot ever in Palm Beach. I know there's a ton more places that's for sure but I fell in love with Rosemary Square. Christmas decor all around, the huge tree in the middle that lights up at sunset and throughout the night, all of the different food spots, things to do, and events, even Soul Cycle is outdoor here.. absolutely love it. Of course, we went to the cheesecake factory to eat because how could I pass on my favorite? but there's so many different places here, different shops from H&M to Lululemon, the list goes on... I've been going here for years and love the layout and outdoor feel of the place. There's a huge convenient parking garage attached with security and guest services close by. Lately, I've noticed a lot of vacant storefronts, perhaps due to the pandemic, but there's still a decent amount of restaurants and bars to choose from. The Improv comedy place and and the Copper Blues being my favorite. The light up tree and water fountain in the center court area are very amusing and a sight to see in the evening. read more

Lovely place to go Shoping and have dinner . There are a lot of activities happening at the square the water sprinkles are so much fun for the children and at night there is a tree that changes color . They also have fake snow in the form of bubbles coming down on your head at a certain time . I had the pleasure of seeing this and watching the kids scream with joy . This was quite nice. We were celebrating my friend's birthday and he wanted to ride Brightline, so we did. When we arrived, we walked to this place for an iced tea at Starbucks and then wandered around the shops. It's probably a lot busier in the winter time (like the rest of south Florida) but on a Wednesday afternoon, it was fairly quiet. Which is preferable to me. I hate crowds. The stores are clean and the area is quite nice to look at. When I ride the train up again, I'll be sure to come back here. read more

CityPlace is a nice outdoor shopping center in West Palm Beach. The shop variety is decent. It gets super hot walking outside in the summer but there are a bunch of restaurants all around CityPlace. It's the prefect place to grab a bite to eat. There is always something going on here. There is live music in many of the restaurants. It's well lit up and nicely maintained throughout. They also have the AMC movie theater here with a garage towards the back side of it. And lastly there is a bowling option called Revolutions. Revolutions is open until 12AM most nights and until 2AM on Friday/Saturday. Side Note: There is a downtown trolley, which goes around the area of WPB. You can get it from City Place as well. When I moved to downtown WPB 4 years ago The Square was my favorite spot--great entertainment venues, restaurants and even a dynamic church in the heart of the Square, but now the entertainment venues are gone, the mom and pop shops under the Harriet Himmel theater have been evicted, restaurants kicked out as their buildings have been torn down for 2 office towers and even the thriving and vibrant church has been kicked out. Who ever is in charge of the Square has killed the positive vibe and I no longer go or take my out of town friends there when they visit. Shame on Related and Mr Ross for destroying what was the jewel of downtown. read more

We had been to West Palm Beach/PB NUMEROUS times since moving here last year, but had never been to this destination until last month. This is a nice spot with some shopping, but more of a focus on eating and drinking. We were here on the weekend around noon. Fortunately, it was not too crowded. This place reminded me a bit of The Grove in SoCal or Santana Row in NorCal. Architecture is kind of a Spanish style and is very pretty. Parking was a little pricey, but if you spend a certain amount of $ you can get it free. In my opinion, the amount you need to spend for parking validation is a little on the high side. This is a great spot to take out of town visitors to or to visit if you are vacationing in WPB. We were here a few weeks before Christmas and loved seeing the decorations up. Lots of beautiful Palm Trees all around! read more

UPDATE: I think City Place is now called Rosemary Square. Some closings including Macy's. So I love this place and am always here anytime I am in the area. It is usually swarming with people on any given night. It's a great place to hang out, shop. grab a bite and enjoy the evening. There are stores galore to choose from and plenty of places to eat as well as well places to just sit and relax. I am baffled by all the low ratings. I will admit a few places that are big names have gone out of business here which is a shame. I still love it. It does get crowded an d there are people galore. If you like to people watch, this is the place to do it. If you would rather have peace, quiet and as few people as possible this place is most likely not for you. So there are plenty of retail outlets, places to eat. The decor is really attractive. At least you will not be bored at City place, which I insist on still calling them. If you are visiting the area, it's a must see. I always have a blast when I'm here. read more

City Place is several blocks of an upscale mixture of shops, restaurants, apartments, condos, and office space. In the 1980's downtown West Palm Beach was in in the midst of a poverty, crime, and crack epidemic. Then senator Lawton Chiles called it a "war zone" during a tour. Looking at it today it is hard to believe that West Palm Beach had the highest crime rate for a city it's size in the nation in the 1980's. HBO even filmed a documentary about it called Crack USA: County Under Siege. In 1986 a $433 million dollar city revitalization project was proposed by private investors David C. Paladino and Henry J. Rolfs who bought up 72 acres on L Street between Georgia Avenue and Lake Avenue in the center of their project. Before Paladino and Rolfs could complete the project they lost their fortunes. One condition of releasing the land was that Paladino would have a statue of himself placed in the new project. He now stands every day with out stretched hands in the median of Okeechobee Boulevard. The city of Palm Beach purchased the land and in 1996 developed their own project called City Place. The architecture is Mediterranean and Venetian inspired. Anchoring the end of City Place is the Harriet Himmel Theater which was a Methodist church built in 1926 in the Spanish Colonial Revival style. A six million dollar restoration has transformed it into a cultural center. It is the only building left from before the renovation. Water fountains and landscaping were also added to the area. Construction was started in 1998 and City Place Place opened in 2000. Parking for City Place is available in a nearby garage. There is a free city trolley that runs between City Place and Clematis Street. Today you would never believe that there used to be boarded up buildings and streets littered with beer cans used to smoke crack cocaine. In it's place are trendy restaurants and shopping. Right now the area is undergoing another intense $40 million dollar construction project to make it more appealing in a changing retail environment. A Macy's has already gone out of business and in it's shell is an art project called Called Culture Lab that uses art to examine the decline of the brick and mortar stores. The plan is to replace the Macy's with a 21 story apartment building and an 18 story office building. The new project is meant to give the area more of a plaza feel with outdoor seating, improved landscaping and lighting, and better pedestrian flow. The project is expected to be completed this year in the spring. Only time will tell if more money sunk into the area can keep City Place for sliding back into urban decline. read more

Rosemary Square is so very not City Place Today was supposed to be a joyful day, the Broadway musical "In the Heights" released its film version and it was my first time back in side a cinema, much less a theater. I felt like I responsibly went early enough to be able to keep my distance, wipe down the seats, and settle-in before the show began, As any responsible "theater goer" with you. Myyy goodness, however! This Rosemary Square change is quite A different experience than City Place ever was. *ONLY the Down escalators worked *NONE of the elevators worked * we can no longer validate our parking inside the movie theater. Instead, we have to walk all the way over to the other side underneath the escalators, that did not work, in order to find the little parking attendant window in a dark, quasi-lit location. * ironically, the "five dollars for all day parking on Saturday and Sunday," it's not only tax, but a "convenience fee". And let me be clear, there is no other method to pay for parking, so I'm not entirely sure what was convenient that I was paying extra for. *The touch-free kiosks outside AMC Did not work and, as such, force people into such tight small spaces in order to all access their ticket purchases at the same desk as were check-in was. * where is my square just seems to have very many other priorities than City Place dead. The issue, is that none of those free appropriations of conveniences seem to be convenient for the *guests.* The image I have included with this post is of a restroom inside the AMC cinema. That's right, no way to wash hands during a pandemic as they have lessened the number of available restrooms. Wait for improvements. read more

It has a lot of great shopping and several restaurants. It is basically an open air mall. I really enjoyed the holiday tree they had and the humorous fake snow given I'm from an area that snows a lot!
