These snakes all stand at guard, with their tails in the air, forming a traffic circle that almost looks like an astrological calendar with snakes. I believe this is the same serpent god as Quetzcoatl in Teotehuican. The heads of the snakes are like what you seen in local archaelogical sites like the Palace of the Thousand Columns in Chichen-Itza. They spray water out during the day, and are illuminated at night.

I definitely recommend just coming here on a ferry and not do the excursions, because the excursion seems like me. Main purpose is to bring tourists over to shop and I definitely wanted to explore the island and I had no desire to shop whatsoever and with just 2 hours you can't do much unless you just wanna. Relax on the beach and get in the water. But if you actually want to explore 2 hours is new not enough, so I do not recommend coming with a tour plus I mean I recommend getting up getting on that ferry. The first thing in the morning and coming back on the latest ferry of the day to get a nice escape away from the business of Cancun.

Decided to do something a little less touristy. El Meco proved to be a Beautiful site of Mayan…read moreruins. Employees very nice and happy to have visitors. Newer buildings, it looked like they just finished construction of the office and bathrooms. The ruins themselves are smaller but good explanation of what we were looking at, and a great learning experience. Easy and safe parking, and the price for the entrance was worth the trip.

The greenery is well-kept and watered. In fact, the sprinklers were running when I arrived. Parking is scarce and no restrooms exist, but it's a great start to any visit of Cancun and it's famous "Hotel Zone." Minus one-star for the complete lack of amenities, but - nevertheless - it's a great backdrop to tag any visit to Cancun.

He's a Mexican sculpture that San Antonians know well- he did the giant red International Torch of Friendship on S. Alamo by Rivercenter Mall. He also did the gate in the recently renovated roundabout by the San Antonio Public Library. His sculptures are monumental, with metal painted in bright colors and bent and curved in ways that make it seem almost organic. This flower brightens any traveler's day as they pass it on the busy road that takes you by it. At night, it's illuminated. This artist has done large scale sculptures all over the world representing Mexico's design and culture in the USA as well as Japan. San Antonio seems to be sister cities with a lot of the cities that Sebastian seems to be involved with.
