After nearly a year and a half of waiting for Utah Window Experts to resolve some of the…read moreoutstanding issues and damage caused by their installers to our window products, we are finally settling with these people after they threatened to sue to collect the small remaining balance we had witheld to try to get them to stand by their installation. What a joke. We finally contacted Milgard directly to correct a slider that had a 3/8" gap due to wrong window size that allowed winter air to blow directly into our living room, and were told by the Milgard reps that the installers for Utah Window Experts had also not leveled or shimmed the sliders correctly, accounting for some of the issues we were seeing. This was not a small job, it was nearly a $60K order for a new custom build, and Utah Window Experts even acknowledged most of the screw-ups they caused, including delaying our construction completion by months by failing to order all the windows specified to complete the job. Despite this, they never took any ownership of fixing the issues or damages caused by one of the three crews sent to install the windows. I previously gave them 2 stars based on the last crew sent out to complete the installation doing decent work, but now am dropping to a single star based on their extremely poor customer service and lack of follow through. Have had mostly good experiences with the subs for this project, however Utah Window Experts was not one of them. No one has perfect reviews, but would recommend using almost anyone else for a window installation. Milgard does make a good product, and our experience with the producthas generally been great, however could never recommend this distributor/installer. If you want Milgard, find someone else to install.

Essentially, they said they were coming to the neighborhood to offer a special deal for just a couple of houses, to update their windows as "model homes" where they give you a bangin' deal in exchange for some advertising (have a sign in the yard for 60 days, write a positive review, allow before/after photos, and share the amount of energy savings after a year of having the new windows). They would cover labor costs, installation, and discount the windows themselves 30%. The first guy took down my number because I said I wanted my husband home before they started taking measurements to give me a quote, and he called later saying the two slots had been filled. The next day or a couple of days later, another guy came to the door saying behold! We opened another spot! So we made an evening appt for another sales person to come and do the measurements. She came, explained their windows, the deal, the lifetime warranty, etc and I have to say, she was very kind and accommodating when it came to our 1.5 year old son and newborn who were vying for attention. But she opened with "I'll need a hard yes or a hard no by the end of this conversation, and my husband hates pressure tactics, so he was already skeptical. Long story short, their "super discounted price" was $45,000. Full price was nearly $92k. I don't think windows should be ~20% the value of our house, sorry. Anyway - we ended up giving a hard no, and I read online that this company gives the same spiel to everyone. There is no model home. I'm guessing their five star reviews are part of the "discounted" exchange. I'm glad my husband is not as easily duped as I! When the time comes for new windows, we will look elsewhere.

I was feeling sick and resting, and only answered because I thought it was an emergency. When I asked him to stop and pointed out the signs, he admitted he saw them but kept pushing his sales pitch about a "30% off promotion." When I declined again, he aggressively questioned why I wasn't interested, making me feel incredibly uncomfortable and cornered in my own home. We were handed over to Cassidy to do the financial and paper work portion and that was a mess from the beginning! Cassidy has a horrible attitude and speaks to you like you're an idiot and doesn't let you get a word in! It's honestly sad that they allow someone like him to work for them and represent their company! He didn't help us at all and when we had any questions it was such a bother to him. It took months for us to FINALLY get anything accomplished because Cassidy gave us the run around and the tried to change the price that he originally had quoted us (tried to charge us way more). When I brought it up he had no excuse and then said he would "honor" the original quote. When we finally got our garage door installed, it wasn't even completed. The light on the garage motor/lift wasn't working, so my husband had to fix it and the decorative pieces weren't installed. When I asked Cassidy about it he made a snarky and smart ass comment of "well did you put a light bulb in it!?" And then tried to charge us for the decorative pieces for the garage door. I had already spoken to a manager named Jory who was supposed to call us back before I had called Cassidy back again and we never got that call back. This past week Cassidy called me to get the rest of the payment and had an attitude as usual, wouldn't let me get a word in as usual, and when I brought up the light and the decorative pieces again he once again was rude and made the same comments. I told him I needed to speak with manager because I couldn't deal with him any longer. 4 months later our garage door is finally installed and completed, but with the worst service (minus the service we received from Jarod). Please don't come to this company, find someone else or hire Jarod on the side.
