Napa Chicken Panini
Jan L.

We were Hungry. We found this place tucked away in a small, newer retail outdoor area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We walked in to see plenty of indoor seats, very open and the cook working the counter was SO nice![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Menu has a large variety. I ordered the Basil Panini and my mom ordered the Napa chicken panini that had mushrooms. Hers looked very good and mine was AMAZING! We will return for sure! If you drive through or near Moorpark - I recommend finding this little gem. It's located in the retail area West of Target and in the center where Amazon market is located.

Basil chicken panini- Ciabatta bread, grilled chicken breast, pesto mayo, tomato, mozzarella cheese, romaine.

2nd time visiting with my boyfriend. Service was nice and fast. Food was hot and delicious. :)

6:40 Friday evening.

This review is only based upon their service, or lack there of. For the last 20 plus years going back when they were part of the franchise "Camille's", I have ordered Tuscan tomato soup for my better half. I would go out and get my meal and swing back to CJs, for the soup. Tonight at 6:40 pm on a Friday evening, they were not serving customers. Sadly this has happened no less than a dozen times to me, that CJs is randomly closed for the evening. Usually I can see the owner in the back, cleaning and ignoring or just oblivious to me or anyone else trying to get a meal. Initially the soup was $7.00, now it's $9.00. If you do the math based upon going there once a month, sometimes I went more than once a month , it's a few grand. Depressing. I'm not proud to admit that I've patronized CJs even though the multiple times they were closed outside of their posted hours. Tonight I did try calling from outside the restaurant, and still ignored. Thank you for the soup in the past, I'm done trying to guess if you will be open in the future.

"Crispy" chicken

Tastes okay but full of lettuce. Chicken texture feels processed. $17 for this is crazy even in this economy

Spicy Chicken Strip Wrap

I came here with a couple friends for some brunch our usual spot was closed on Monday's so I found this little place and I am so sad I didn't know about this place sooner This cafe has very low traffic for how great the food was we ordered a Napa Chicken Panini, Turkey Pretzel Roll, and a spicy chicken strip wrap. Everyone was satisfied no bad opinions it was all delicious. Our food came out so fast and the service was great they brought it to our table made sure we had everything we needed just overall great experience. I'm definitely coming back here

Wow! Went with a few friends, hungry after class and this made our day. Not sure who was working, but this gentleman was so quick and kind during his service. He served us all at the same time, in a timely manner, and checked on us too! The food was incredibly flavorful and crisp, we all shared around the table. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not to mention, the place is very clean and decorated to create a calm comfortable space.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also the menu is quite endless, so we will be back trying new things!

Matcha blended and hazelnut blended
Ai H.

Parking: no need for street parking, they are located in a plaza with lots of parking space Customer service: everyone was nice and helpful in helping my party and I order. They are short staffed (as stated on their register) but did their best to help us and other customers Paninis: the Napa chicken panini was my favorite. It had the right amount of sauce and crunch to it. I wanted to try their soup of the day (chicken panbpano) which was tasty. I was able to make it a combo by ordering "your two picks." As for the ham and Swiss panini, the pesto made it more delicious. My friend and I were very pleased with our panini and would recommend this place to anyone craving a sandwich or wants to try something new. Drinks: what's cool about this place is their coffee is from coffee bean. It's a two in one place and the drinks taste just like you would expect it. I ordered a large for the hazelnut and matcha blended with caffeine. Overall very happy with my experience

Today I had the half and half, sandwich and potato soup. This was the first time I wasn't wowed by the soups I guess in more used to loaded potato soups. It has a good flavor, but I missed lots of bacon, cheese, and sour cream topping. The staff is friendly. Lots of parking, but the lot is kind of oddly planned out.

First, the staff are all so kind and welcoming. You feel like you are having dinner in someone's living room. It is so beautiful and cozy and warm. Perfect for a date night! We came on a Wednesday night and had a reservation and got in right away. We shared everything family-style. Note, the portions are small but the food is delicious and for the price it is right on. Next time, may order two of one dish. We got the cucumber herb salad, the potatoes gravas, the elote corn, the flank steak, and the summer margarita pizza. All were fantastic. Next time, we'll get more than one pizza and may skip the flank steak. For dessert we had the cookie with gelato (gelato is SO GOOD) and the pop tart. You must get the pop tart!!!!! It is sooooo good and so unique. Overall, we can't wait to return and take pictures next time!

My husband has to pull his hot coffee to the latte to make it warm. 6. I chose this place because of online views. How can this place earn 5 full stars ?????? 7. Much to my surprise, it was about as lively as I had remembered it. The Alley was established during Covid times and offered a retreat to escape from the humdrum of the homestead. These days, its friendly vibe welcomes neighbors and visitors with a backyard setting strewn with twinkle lights and family-style tables. It's a causal scene and easy to soak in the live music, sunlight/moonlight, and neighborly banter. The layout resembles an alley with shops on either side, big open doors invite you to grab something to eat, sample a drink, or shop for handmade gifts. On one side, you've got craft brews and coffee roasters. On the other side, it's local wines and piping hot pizzas. Dogs are welcome all around. At the center of it all, there's live music on the weekends. Modeled after a Beer & Wine Garden concept, The Alley features Enegren Brewery (beer), Lucas Sellers (wine), California Coffee Republic (java), Fire & Vice (pizza), and The Craft House (non-alcoholic tchotchkes). As a self-proclaimed wino, I opted for a sampling of the Lucas Sellers Wines. Ashley, who was behind the bar and top of the pours, gave me good suggestions and offered anecdotes about each wine on tap. At the end of the night, my light pinot paired perfectly with the Mushroom Arugula pizza from Fire & Vice. And I felt right at home, surrounded by friends.

On top of that, the service was super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. The inside of the shop was also a treat to see--clean, inviting, and just a really nice place to hang out and enjoy your drink. I came here to try out California Bun, an eatery that has harnessed an interesting (long overdue) concept, to package portable food. Here they prepare snack sized bites (or a little more) of favorite food fancies, enveloped in a daily fresh baked round brioche bun. The store is high ceiling, spacious and large, with ample space to dine in or carry out. It is a mom and pop joint, that is slowly but surely, beginning to make a mark. On the main wall, elegantly displayed, are all the many enticing varieties, for the day. My visit was designed to take something to go. The conundrum here is, what to order, because there were so many inviting choices that were talking to you. I finally decided to select three of these evenly browned and differently topped buns. The El Sabroso (Egg, cheddar & jack cheese, bacon & Jalapeno salsa, garnished with Cheese, bacon & jalapeño). The Roadside Burger (Seasoned ground beef, grilled onions, white American cheese, & secret house burger sauce, garnished with Cheese & bacon). The Mac Daddy (Creamy mac and cheese with a cheddar, jack, and parmesan cheese blend, garnished with Panko bread crumbs). So whats the verdict? The Mac Daddy was my least favorite. In comparing the other two, the Roadside Burger seemed to have the higher of (inside filling/inside bread) ratio, as compared to the El Sabroso. However, the latter is the most attractive bun on the outside and overall, contains a good mix of flavors and slight kick. Any food with a visible Jalapeño is a magnet, for me. Still, this concoction needs more of the egg mixture, to achieve the right balance. In general, all 3 buns were soft, had a nice texture, bread taste and chew. Service here is warm, inviting, friendly and informative.

Carrara's presents it beautifully on a stone tray, with a proper espresso cup and a transparent glass so you can actually see the layers of gelato and espresso. We honestly were not sure if we wanted to make the drive to Moorpark again, but given Phil's extended efforts, we felt it was only right to give Freda's another try. Our last visit was during Mother's Day weekend, so we thought to come for brunch on Father's Day. It was busy when we arrived, but the host team managed the flow of customers very well. While being seated, the timing of the next reservation was mentioned, allotting an hour and a half for our time there. This was more than enough, and we were graciously thanked for our understanding. Shortly after, Danielle came to greet us, apologized for the previous dining experience and showed sincere appreciation for having us again. We had two servers for our section, Nathan being our primary one, but as before, we felt the entire team worked exceptionally well in taking care of customers. We started with the Focaccia Rustico which was the best part of our last meal. This arrived heavily toasted. We prefer the softer version from our dinner, but it was still very good. The husband was eager to try the French Dip, and it did not disappoint. The sandwich had the perfect ratio of meat to bread. The au jus was flavorful, along with the horseradish spread. The fries were, hot, crisp and nicely seasoned. I ordered the Dutch Baby. It arrived freshly made in the cast iron pan, with sides of butter, syrup and berry compote. This was my first time having the German pancake and it was delicious! It will now be on my radar when having brunch elsewhere, but Freda's is the standard that others will follow. Next, one of the chefs claimed I told them to go back to their country. Again, I've never met or spoken to this chef. And that doesn't make sense, because my family members are immigrants.
