So glad we found this cute, busy spot. There was a short wait, and the entire time from when we got there to when we left, the pastry counter was buzzing with customers. We got a bread basket, and we both got the croque madames - delicious! My boyfriend enjoyed the onion soup, and we shared a tropézienne for dessert. Clafoutis is a Santa Fe icon at this point. While the menu is brief, the food can't be beaten and the bowls of coffee are incomparable. Of course you shouldn't leave without dropping by the bakery side and selecting a few pastries to take along for the rest of the day. We found the place where the locals eat while on vacation on Santa Fe and this is it. And let me tell you, they know where to eat! We had a 20 minute wait, so it wasn't bad. I need to update my reviews from 9 and 11 years ago. Like I predicted (see previous reviews) Clafoutis outlasted "the curse" and thrived until they moved to a better location on Cordova. I believe they also removed the curse for those that follow - the proof is the success of Dolina. For more on the curse, read below. If you have any info on the previous string of restaurants that suffered the curse of that shitty spot between Blake's and the dry cleaners I'd appreciate it. All I remember is Rooney's and LeMoynes Landing. Fun history. Clafoutis is now a Santa Fe institution restaurant. There are many and they are all great. Do I need credit for seeing the future? No. Would I accept it? Well yep. But seriously I love Clafoutis and have only had one experience that was subpar which was apparently 9 years ago. They didn't need perfect reviews on yelp to succeed and for that I salute them. Damn fine restaurant! read more

Recent convert to Clafouti's , I love their new location as parking is SO much easier. Best time to get here is 8am-10am on Saturday, it's quieter and you have a chance to peruse their VAST line up of pastries at your leisure. Despite many attempts, I seem to be unable to leave here without a box of baked deliciousness- in the past few weeks I've brought home : napoleons, beignets, cream puffs, croissants. I have also eaten here a number of times recently, they have a good avocado toast option. I also had decaf coffee here and it was AMAZING! it was not too bitter, but chocolatey and smooth. My husband's favorite thing here is their bowl of cafe au lait. They know what they're doing with coffee and baked goods in this spot- check them out ! read more

Clafoutis is a cute little Parisian bakery cafe and every thing we ate was delicious! The croque madame - the cheese the egg the ham. Delicious to the last morsel. The baked goods are not to be missed. We opted for some of the clafoutis, since that's the name of the place, and did not leave disappointed. My family had breakfast here and we were blown away. The food is the centerpiece, though the smells, decor, and staff were all amazing. The maison quiche was definitely a winner as each flavor was complimented by the others. The eggs and vegetables inside were supported by a light flaky crust and a mellow yet acidic side salad to balance out the flavors. Clafoutis is a great French bakery and cafe in Santa Fe. The baked goods are high quality French confections. The lunch was acceptable. Service was cordial and there was 20 minute wait for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. This cafe is sprawling, with multiple dining areas for people to drink their coffee and eat lunch. The clientele were well heeled, some were wealthy locals/Californians/Texans. We saw a Porsche in the parking lot, along with some BMWs and other luxury cars. We ordered pistachio madeleines and truffles to go. And Le Caggette and French onion soup for lunch. Le Cagettes, the Country was nice picnic basket of hearty solid pate, silky ham, firm cheeses with crunchy baguettes. It also had a nice salad and cornichons. It was filling. The ham and cheese was the best part. The pate needed more fat. However, the almond tart was perfect! It had crunchy caramelized almond slivers on top and sweet springy ground almonds inside the tart (either almond flour or ground almonds with sugar). So good! The French Onion soup was thin, didn't taste of reduced caramelized onions and tasted of a water stock or another stock than beef. It was missing a heartiness. Definitely skip this soup. The Pistachio madeleines were later toasted in our oven. They were buttery crispy spongy delights with crunchy pistachios. The truffles melted in our trunk while we went to a the Folk Museum. I later ate my truffle with a fork. It was still buttery chocolatey deliciousness. Definitely stick to the sweets. It seems to be their strong point. read more

Lowkey worst croque madame ive ever had. Dry, lukewarm, cheese was unmelted and with no browning. Asked for more bechamel because there was possibly none or too little on sandwich and got brought a cup of cold lumpy bechamel. Staff were nice, vibe was good. We planned a day trip just to check this place out. We got there in the morning on a random Wednesday, and they were still very busy! (I'm sure not as busy as on the weekend, though.) We only ordered from the bakery side, and that alone took a while- there is just so much to choose from, and everything looked so beautiful. We got quite a bit and sat at a table outside to sample everything. Even though the sweet items were the most visually appealing, we liked all the savory items the best for taste. What a terrific spot for lunch. An open, airy and very pleasant atmosphere. We sat by the bakery counter and salivated over the wonderful selection of fresh baked goods. I was craving something different and I found it here. I love french pastries and husband loves breakfast items. It was a win win. The decor is beautiful and fit for a magazine. It is generally child friendly if your child eats outside of an average kids menu. We ordered the Paris for our small children to share. The fries were good! Thick cut and crispy. Everything about the presentation was on brand, which was v cute. Somethings that rang true from other reviews: Service is lacking - after 10 minutes of waiting after being seated we had to ask the hostess for our server and they came over. The rest of the service was ok. Sandwiches are okay - stick to the bread, and pastries for the wow factor. Smoked salmon was good but not for anyone who has had very fresh smoked salmon. It is not the same but there was a hearty portion on my salad. I didn't leave hungry. Overall, I will come back next time I'm looking for breakfast in Santa Fe. read more

Go to the bakery, don't dine in. Honestly this place was pretty overrated. It looked good online but when we got there they were out of half the items on the menu, and what we did order was mediocre at best. French onion soup did not have enough onions and was pretty bland. The watermelon gazpacho was good, my wife ordered the bruschetta and the bread was soft and not toasted at all. The Cuban I ordered didn't have any pickles on it. Half the menu didn't really feel French to me. Everything we got from the bakery for dessert was delicious. Won't be going back unless we're getting something from the bakery. read more

What a cute French bistro ! The place was so beautiful as well busy as heck. Perfect brunch, date or family outing restaurant. The pastries were magnificent. Fresh, flavorful, crispy and tasty. I don't think I can add more adjectives to explain how delicious the pastries were. I ordered to go. We were passing though and desperately trying to get home.
