After a wind storm damaged our roof in 2024, Our roofer suggested hiring Ask an Adjuster. We signed…read morea contract after the young lady convinced us we had a great case which shouldn't be a problem to settle. The contract called for a 20% charge of the settlement. They sent me an estimate of what the case was worth. It was much more than I would have expected which should have been a red flag. Without going into the details, the company was unable to do anything for us and recommended we hire an attorney. We ended hiring a local attorney who was able to settle the case for what was actually a little more than the cost of the project. However, we still had to pay Ask an Adjuster 20% of the settlement as well as the attorney fees. The attorney was kind enough to lower their fee under the circumstances. But between the two the amount was woefully short of the cost of the roof. We had to eat that, which I am not happy about. I called to talk to the agent and asked about a reduction since the company did nothing for us. She said she thought that was doable and get back to me. I never heard another word. This settlement with the attorneys just came a few months ago and I am still aggravated by the whole thing. I can see why this is such a litigious society now. I am considering filing suit to get my money back.
