Fortunately we went to another shop before with the jewelry (necklace and ring) and they weighted it in front of us (so we knew it was exactly 31.6 grams). At Orsini, the woman that helped us took the gold in the back, stayed away for almost 10 minutes and came back mentioning that it was 24.5 grams......she immediately asked for our passport to give us the money and close the deal. We were really flabbergasted.... Unbelievable!! We confronted her that we knew that it was 31.6 grams, she again went to the back (stayed away again for 10 minutes) and came back mentioning that we were right and that it was 31.6 grams. She did not even apologize..... Eventually she offered us a ridiculous price based on the right weight. It turned out to be a price per gram much lower than a lot of other shops in the diamond district. We asked her about the huge difference but she just tried to end the conversation and didn't t want to respond to our questions. We just want to warn you for this shop!! We patiently waited in the sitting area for the next available salesperson. When it was our turn, the only male person offered us to sit at a desk and the conversation started. This person didn't ask what we wanted, we told him our budget because he didn't ask. When we said 2k for a ring, he made a really bad face like if we were cheap people. Next thing we know, he brings rings and stone that cost twice as much, even if we saw many rings in our budget being exposed. He didn't even ask what kind of stone we wanted, he assumed we wanted a diamond. We felt so disrespected we thanked him and we politely left the store. I am personally really sad because I know how much my mother likes the place, but I will not go back there. They just want to sell brands, they barely craft a couple of jewels. They don't listen to the client. A shame. Just for the record: I am a Private Banker and I will buy other jewels in the future, just never again at Slaets.
