My pores are clogged and few days ago i woke up to find not one but few painful pimples! I did a quick Yelp search and to be honest was a bit skeptical on the results, but decided to trust my gut and the recommendation of a fellow Yelper. I asked a friend to call to make an appointment for me. My Spanish is very poor. Sadly. Mirta is operating out of her apartment, she has a treatment room with all the equipment. Super clean. She knew that I don't speak Spanish so she invited her granddaughter to come and translate, which made the whole experience for me so much easier! She took care of my skin, cleaned it up, nourished with facial masks. It feels good! I know that living in USA I am spoiled to spas and hotel treatments. Having to go to someone's apartment might seem odd, but she does provide a good service and has over 30 years of experience, and studied at the Medicine school in BA. I spent there a bit over an hour and it cost me 400 ARS (27 USD). If I knew earlier I would have tried to come sooner and more frequently. Unfortunately I am leaving in 8 days.

I LOVE Giks! I was traveling solo and my Spanish is embarrassingly bad but the ladies at Giks made…read morethis a great experience. I set up the appointment through Yelp, received a prompt response and the salon itself is beautiful with a relaxing environment (any salon that offers champs or wine is okay with me.) The quality of service was amazing and the price was surprisingly reasonable (BA can be expensive) - honestly one of the best gel manicures and nail salon experiences I've ever had. I only wish I could've gone again before my trip ended but I will definitely be back!
