Good solid boots, shoes and trainers as well as climbing gear & tents. Helpful staff dotted around if you need any help or advice.

Here you can buy everything from football strips and dartboards, to javelins, golf trollies and punchbags. The selection is massive, and the staff know what they are talking about. A few years back I'd have given them 5, but sadly now their collection of football strips isn't quite as charmingly obscure as it once was. Not long ago you'd find Red Star Belgrade and FC Basle here, but now its mainly British and Champions League European teams. I might start a campaign for them to bring back the Z list.

I have coped two different sneakers here before they came out. Recently was the Jordan 1 Taxis. I had them actually a few days over a month before they were released in the states. As someone that loves fashion...or shall I say sneakers, this makes me happy. There clothing selection is cool as well. They had something for everyone. Now when it comes to pricing it's about the same as the states. Of course their currency is different so make sure if using a card you know what option you want to charge the items. The customer service was great. Oh and the body guard at the front is about 8 feet tall. The man is a giant literally! I thought he was standing on a step stoll but nope. All in all when back in Scotland I will definitely take the time to check them out!

There was one occasion I didn't find a great selection in store, so I was asked to leave my feedback online, so that they could see if any other customers had similar views. I basically love the Nike Pro Leggings range, at the time I found loads online but not in-store! The best bit about this store? The free exercise classes that run from here. On a Thursday from 5.30-6.30, it's Nike Training Club with Cam. Admittedly, a lot of people wouldn't like this. They rope off the middle section of the store, Cam has a boom box and has you sweating instantly, doing an hour of intense core and HIT training, from burpees, to squats and everything in between. So yeah, people look and wonder what's going on. But equally, it's a completely free class! After this from 6.30-7.30 there is the Nike Run Club, Thursday nights are a mix of interval training or timed 5-7km runs. There is a fantastic group of pace runners (seen in the volt yellow tops), who will encourage you around the session. The groups are mixed into times, so faster runs, slower runs etc. Everyone is so friendly. Throughout my sets, the faster runs continually said keep going etc. Sunday mornings start at 10.30, with longer distance runs which tend to last around an hour. Again this is completely free, a changing room is opened up and locked for people to leave there stuff. Many of the Nike staff themselves take part in the run club, so it's great to see a brand actually employing sporty people!

It's a pretty basic shop specializing in squash and tennis equipment as well as apparel. Seeing all the tennis skirts gives me flashbacks of all my tennis lessons, and repeatedly doing the forehand swing over and over with a ball machine with my slave driving tennis instructor when I was a little girl. The sales guy is super friendly and very helpful, and the boyfriend got an awesome deal on a Head squash racket that was originally £135 for £45! Score! The apparel is pretty limited, but it's all the basics you would need to play the game. They offer restringing services as well, from what I could make of the contraption at the front of the shop :-) Bottom line: convenient location, friendly and helpful service, and great deals.

Dropped the racket in and discussed the tension as it was an older racket. Unfortunately my racket cracked during stringing which does happen on occasion. I spoke with the manager dreading being told not much I can do or it was an old racket. Instead he was really fair offering to replace it with one of their ex demo rackets ( many others wouldn't). Having read other forums others have been told it's the chance you take and been left out of pocket. Got a decent racket with only minor cosmetic marks in return. All in left the store feeling really happy with the service and satisfied that they made the best of the worst case scenario. Would recommend them to anyone.

Considerably cheaper than the likes of Tiso, this is a good place for outdoor gear with recognisable brands. There's always a good selection of stock and the staff are helpful enough and seem to know the score. Well worth a look.

I find most of their clothing to be out of my price comfort zone (I'm more the Regatta end of the market), so I seldom do any serious shopping here. However I am a huge fan of their thermawear fleecy baffies (that's slippers to non-natives) in the winter, which cover up your ankles quite a way thus preventing draughts up the trouser leg. They don't last more than a season or two as they're more akin to heavy-duty socks really; but they're lightweight, comfy and good value. Sadly on this particular visit they didn't have them in stock; apparently it's still considered to be summer in Scotland - who knew? I shall have to return later. 150th review!

Good price, good advice..." do not use to tie child up outside shops, do not use as a means of propelling oneself behind said child on a skateboard or roller blade's"....you know, the usual health and safety crap. Well, imminent social service visit inducing comments aside, this is a proper grown up outdoor store. But Nevissport, rather than being a trend follower or setter in this field, stick to providing practical and durable gear for the outdoorsman or lady. The first floor is dedicated to Berghaus and big, cosy Tresspass jackets which definitely do the job if you're out camping. What's more, in Nevisport they are affordable, and valuable when you consider how much these jackets and trousers can withstand in extreme conditions. Upstairs, they have a larger selection of jackets and shoes I suppose are considered fashionable, but rather than being purely for that purpose they are making the sport cool - this is mainly in the snowboarding section by the way. If you've ever snowboarded or surfed, you can be sure that these trousers are so good at trapping in the heat you would never wear them for any other reason other than to speed down a snowy terrain or lunge yourself into the ocean. There are some cool boards, wetsuits etc, and other accessories you will undoubtedly need such as gloves. There's also a section dedicated to hillwalking and mountain hiking, where you can purchase hooks and ropes and so on. It's a good outlet handy for the outdoors fanatic set in the centre of town, so they need not take an adventure before they set off merely to pick up the bare essentials! What's more, while the staff are helpful they don't watch you like a hawk while you have a gander. The only downside of visiting this store for me is that I get bitten by the adventuring bug and feel like a bore since I'm not climbing munroes on my weekends off! With ranges a half an hour drive all around Glasgow, I don't feel like I fully utilise this beautiful landscape nature's provided my city-dwelling ass with. However, when I finally do ask, they, like all outdoors shop assistants, know their stuff. They have the full range of outdoor gear, will take time to make sure that you get a good pair of boots- unsurprisingly, considering how critical these are for even the shortest hill walk. Staffed by enthusiasts, it avoids being a cold, specialist shop.
