Upon walking in, there are a couple of shelves featuring various types of books. What I find interesting is that there are always books on these shelves that favor left-leaning topics. There are a few reasons this is disappointing. One, the majority of this community has the opposite value system. So to many, this would feel like intentional gas-lighting. Secondly, I don't understand why the library wants to engage in such divisive topics? If they feel the need to display these type of books, why not offer some balance and include all voices and perspectives instead of just one? Visiting this library always makes me feel disenfranchised and bummed out.

The views outside the windows are spectacular and there's a lot for the kids! My son loved the Yoto stations and my daughter loved the play house. They both enjoyed the puzzle table too. They aren't old enough for computers yet, but there were plenty in there that kids were utilizing well. The bathroom was easily accessible and clean too.

Great library!…read more There is a children's library downstairs, and the adult library is upstairs. They have a good selection of books, they also use interlibrary loan so they can get other books that they don't have in-house delivered. They have a good selection of films, they even have video games which I haven't seen a lot of libraries that have that. They have a library of things, which means they have some small devices and appliances that you can check out and use. The librarians are really helpful and friendly. For the kids library downstairs they have a lot of really great events and toys and computers that the kids can use. It's also located right next to a park, so you can make a day of it, you can come and check out the library, then do a picnic, then play on the playground. So why four stars instead of five? Well, the public parking lot for the library has a time limit! And so if you spend too long here you will get a ticket. Other than that this library is pretty sweet.

The library itself has large areas divided into children's, teens, and adults. They have free Wi-Fi available that is quite fast and reliable. A half-dozen children's computers are in the front of the library, the adult computers are several steps further. Plenty of seating areas for adults and those under 18. 3-D printing services are also available (as well as at Hayden). Friendly librarians, too!

Computers are available for use as well as study rooms and printer/copier services. The staff is very friendly and sociable. The library belongs to a larger network and can easily transfer books between branches or request books from outside libraries if needed. Bonus this location offers Fit and Fall classes twice a week. Seating is above-average for a building that size, but limited. I never have had trouble finding a seat before, however. The staff at the desk are friendly and very helpful. What else can I say? Visit this library. Only part that was strange was how close it is to train tracks. Trains sometimes go by, and shake the building. They blow their horns very loud too at times. But trains can be fun. It's just something that occurs at this library, due to its location near the tracks.

For a small-town library, the Lincoln County Public Library does a really good job. I can't rate…read moreit as highly as the Seattle Public Library, which I also reviewed, but that's only in terms of absolute quality, rather than in terms of how it meets or exceeds my expectations. In this type of a contest, the Lincoln County Library would win. The people who run the library have a vision for the library, and it isn't one which is mired in the past. Libby had interest access through the library long before many small towns did, and they continue to offer it to visitors as well as people who don't have their own internet access. With a library card, it is possible to reserve books online, and also order them through their participating libraries interlibrary loan service. Naturally it is also possible to rent media such as DVDs and VHS tapes, and there are a few new releases as well as a decent selection of B&W classics. There seems to be online/phone access to reference librarians as well, although I haven't tried this service. All in all, I think that this library has done an excellent job of serving the community.
