Unlike the previous Yelper, who should have reviewed "Clark's Mobile Homes" at the same location, my review is actually about Clark's Mini Storage. Clark's Mini Storage is a family-run business; I've always talked to Julie, who has always been helpful and polite. The storage lockers are generous for the price: as of Dec 2020, I pay $150 inclusivefor a 10ft x 10ft outdoor locker with 24hr/ 7 days a week access. The lockers are well designed with a roll-up door, and you can provide your own locks. Being somewhat rural, they do provide pest control, and as long as I've had my locker, I've never had rodent damage. They have also been quick to have snow cleared, usually within 2 days, so everyone still has access during the winter. The only thing that some current customers may have found bothersome is that Clark's has been harder to reach during Covid with their reduced hours. It would be nice if they had some set hours they will be on-location, even if they changed it on their voicemail weekly. However when you do reach them, they are quick to deal with any issue you have to satisfaction. They even offer discounts on long-term storage over 12 months, which can save decent money if you know your storage will be long-haul. You can also ask for reoccurring monthly payments by credit card. If you're looking for outdoor storage, then Clark's is not only a great deal, but you're supporting local business vs the US Franchises. read more

June 16/2017 We signed an agreement to receive a Fairmont 16x60 modular home (http://fairmonthomes.com). To have it within 6 weeks we agreed to whatever colors or configuration was sent. Five weeks later Chris Clark informs us they need to make a special unit for our Wiarton location and it will take 10 weeks. Their documentation for the building permit was useless. A floor plan and pier diagram, neither stamped by an engineer. It was becoming a nightmare to get a building permit for this US built unit. We found another Canadian made unit in Barrie ready to be delivered with full engineered documentation. (18 pages, all engineer stamped) I informed Chris and asked for a refund around July 22. The incredibly unresponsive Chris became even more unresponsive to phone calls or Emails. This modular home is for my parents to live on the lot next to mine in Wiarton. My dad turns 90 in 4 weeks and they are not in great health. Chris seemed shady from the beginning and I should have gone with my gut. You could tell he was self-centred, arrogant and doing us a favour by letting us talk to him. We want a refund of the $5000 deposit. Seems pretty simple. I'm guessing keeping deposits and disappointing customers is actually a major source of income for them. read more

From our invoices being incorrect to harasssing phone calls every day (which they argue is their policy) bc we are a week late with our payment. We have been loyal customers for over two years and have never missed a months payment but are treated as if we trash. I can not wait to have the time to move my things to another storage place in Guelph. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The gentleman on the phone was very rude and discourteous. I called in regard to looking for a…read moreoutdoor spot for my tiny house. It would be safely stored along with the other RVs, trailers, etc. Due to the fact that it is built out of a shipping container, he was very rude in saying that it is not allowed because they offer storage units and their own containers for rent and would not allow someone to bring a container in renting an outdoor spot. I tried to explain it is a tiny house repeatedly and that I would not be using it for living just for having a place to store it while not in use. I would not recommend this lot and would suggest elsewhere. Hanlon Park Mini Storage had no issue accommodating my tiny house, container or not. I would suggest to check out other local options.

This is the 4th time I have used Swan. The first 3 times were terrific.. this last move was "a move…read morefrom hell".. COVID-19 and one worker was not wearing a mask! We were given a warning at the building we moved out of and again the building we moved into... the workers were pokey and slow.. if there was a worker on the crew that ONLY specialized in dismantling beds it would have gone a lot faster.. unbelievable how unhappy we were this time.. different crew different result.. paperwork guy only interested in a tip.. my husband did more work than the 3 assigned to our move.

BUYER BEWARE**** We…read morewere over charged by $300 and the job was not done. We made a deal for $1050 + 10% (if the job went over time) +HST. That should have been Approx $1300. That was a firm deal in writing. We were given a bill for nearly $1650 and they cited having to wait extra time (which we negotiated) and they didn't put the second bed together or have to move many items. I had to argue just to get the price back down to the agreed upon deal. THEY WILL NOT HONOR THEIR WORD. CHOOSE A DIFFERENT COMPANY.
