Excellent experience here! I stopped by for restaurant week and took advantage of their $60 Prix Fixe meal. For the table you get fresh handmade sourdough bread, sliced radishes and sea salt. The bread was super soft and perfect with the creamy butter. Then came the appetizer. I chose a hearty bowl of New England clam chowder. It was a generous serving and I honestly didn't think I would finish it, but it was soooo good that I managed to eat it all. It was the perfect ratio of clams, chunky potatoes and bacon. With a kick of Tabasco! I would totally order this again. For my entree of choice, I went with the crispy skin faroe island salmon. I love ordering salmon when dining out. This one was well executed! Not only was the skin perfectly crisp, but the salmon was buttery, light and melted in my mouth. I'm not too fond of eating salmon skin, but this one was worth every bite. It paired very well with the red chimichurri sauce. Highly recommend this one if you like salmon. For dessert, the key lime tart was the perfect way to end my evening. It was delicious and I especially enjoyed scooping up the torched meringue and toasted coconut flakes with each bite. Overall, the ambiance here is beautiful and the service was very pleasant. I can't wait to come back to try more on the menu!

So glad to finally check out Clark's during restaurant week and it didn't disappoint! It's an adorable atmosphere right off the bat! It was beautiful, unique and soft lighting made this place intriguing and comfortable. Service was top notch and informative and friendly. Food was yummy very rich and heavy. The clam chowder was delicious. I ordered the linguini with clams and that was also very tasty but I was so full from the clam chowder and fluffy bread that I only had a few bites. I took one bite of the key lime pie and the toasted coconut shavings on top were a perfect last bit of touch! I have plenty of leftovers to enjoy and I would definitely go back! I saw that they have a happy hour too to explore!

The possibilities are truly a 5, but the execution is a 3, and with the ingredients that they play with, there is no excuse not to be at least a 4. Drinks Pimms Cup: Go kidnap Mikey from Lion's Tale and have him teach you how to make this. Way too bitter for what it should be. (-) Mai Tai: Strong, but it ends there. Go steal The Laylow's recipe in Waikiki for this one. Their rye Manhattan and wines by the glass are good. (+) Food Bibb Salad: Fresh and mixed well with a nice dressing, making it a good start to your meal. It's what you expect. (+) Uni: It's Santa Barbara Uni, you can't mess this up. (+) Rock Crab: Only second to stone crab, but in California, it's likely as good as it gets. But next time, please throw in a crab cracker. (+) Clam Chowder: A chowder with enough clam to call it a clam chowder...wow (++) Octopus: A beautifully put-together plate; the Fresno chiles are delightful. Maybe sous vide and then grill? I only suggest this because it was slightly overcooked, but the plating made up for it. (+) NY Prime Steak: Omaha-sourced steak cooked closer to rare than the medium-rare ordered, but it still delivered and wasn't cold in the center. As long as it ain't blue, I guess I won't complain, but a little more cooking would have done it more justice. (+/-) Desserts Affogato: I'm yet to find a place that will eff this up. (+) Basque Cake: Missed a punch with the lack of richness, tastes more like Pavilions than from a boutique bakery. (-) Julian and the team did well with the service; attentiveness was there, but the food missed the mark a little. The ingredients and the menu are set up to succeed, but they need better delivery.

So I came back a second time because the first time I loved it however this time was disappointed. Steak tartare had so much dressing ( mustard) I've never seen so much layer of mustard in my life. Service was great though

We have passed by Clark's so many times when visiting our son at Westmont, and we finally decided to give it a try -- I'm so glad we did! From the moment you walk in until the moment you leave, the service is wonderful. Our server was incredibly kind, took the time to go over the menu, and answered all of our food allergy questions with care, which we truly appreciated. They start you off with complimentary sourdough, and it was so delicious that my son even asked to take some home :) The seafood was extremely fresh, and our favorite dish of the night was the scallops. Such a great experience overall, and I can't wait to go back and try more from the menu!

Clark's looks like a very casual dining restaurant based on their beach vibes aesthetic but it is very classy from the customer service to their meal preparation. Their employees are very professional and it's how most of the restaurants operate off of coast village. (Unlike the lions tale[super trashy personnel and worst food that's worst than Santa Barbara]). Clark's has their raw oyster bar, daily catches and burgers! They have a happy hour from 3-5 pm SEVEN DAYS A WEEK that includes trying their burger for half off for their promo price. Half off Martinis, $5 Trumer Pilsner, $10 Featured Wine, $5 Oyster Shooters and $2 off Oysters! My favorite for lunch is the Wood Grilled Shrimp Toast that has Pea Shoots, Shaved Celery, Harissa Aioli.

This 'in the cut' oyster bar was phenomenal! The service was welcoming and friendly. Every food option I had was perfect! Love that there were different choices for oysters. Plus, if you sit at the bar you have the opportunity to watch them fix your oysters. I will definitely, be returning.

I let the bartender order for me and his recommendations were spot on

I came to Santa Barbara for a solo birthday trip and of course I had to go to Clark's for my birthday lunch. Had some of the best cocktails, home made sourdough bread and freshly cracked oysters. Service was amazing! The bartender was super chill and down to earth which I appreciate so much. Ambiance is clean and spacious. I definitely recommend! I will be back.

Every dish was fantastic. Incredible company, delicious dishes, and excellent service and ambiance. The outside area was nice and a bit quieter than the inside seating area. The service was great with excellent recommendations, the oyster options were all delightful in their own ways, and I especially enjoyed the generous portion of fish for the crude plate.

I had a wonderful experience at Clark's today. The service was exceptional, the food was top-tier, and the venue is beautifully clean and welcoming. I sat outside in the sun and was checked on the perfect amount of times. The Rockefeller oysters came out nice and hot and the ceviche and Crudo came out cool and fresh. This was my first time here and I didn't know that you are offered fresh sourdough with whipped butter. It was divine. All of the wait staff are so friendly and I look forward to my next visit.

Such a cute seafood restaurant in Montecito. Their oysters are delicious. Great service with friendly staff. Great for lunch or dinner.

This place is amazing ! Husband and I are in town for the night kid free in forever ! We walked down the street put our names in at Honor Bar and decided to keep walking to see if we could get a quick drink somewhere. We were treated at Clark's Oyster Bar immediately by the lovely host and ask if we could sit at the bar luckily there were a few seats left open. Server came over immediately(kicking myself in the hut for not remembering her lovely name) but from the moment she came over to the moment we left she was very attentive and warm. At this point go early my food could be gross because I feel seen ... But luckily it wasn't ... the raw bar chef offered us oysters and of course we accepted .. they were to die for .. then he asked if we have ever tried Uni and I hadn't so he served us up a plate and O M G ! ! ! Melt in your mouth butter ! Honestly the entire time we were at Clark's my husband and I felt like we created lifetime friends ! We were truly blessed tonight with delicious food amazing service and clean restrooms ! I can not wait to be able to return to this amazing restaurant ! Thank you to the entire staff for making us feel like we were home with our best friends !!

Here from out of town. I was taken here for dinner. The food was excellent. We started with bread with incredible butter and very flaky salt. Yum. We had Cioppino, mussels in a white wine sauce, and branzino. Everything was delicious. We chose not to have dessert because the food portions were a good size. Just want to say...I have never been charged to debone/filet a fish. This should be done free of charge. Service was good because there are many runners to help.

Hot or Not? Spoiler! it's a NOT. What a coincidence, it's happy hour . . . YAY ! Upon arrival, we were the only party on our end of the patio. (aside from a group of women on their way out.) We ordered our drinks promptly, but over the next 30m 3 small parties arrived, placed their drink orders, then their food orders, and were served well before us. disappointing. Despite being reassured multiple times over 30-40m period that our drinks were "on the way" they hadn't arrived long after having ordered--far before all the surrounding parties had arrived. We were checked in on plenty and added Ratatouille to our order. My Spicy margs finally arrived and (1) glass had visible lipstick stain on it. Luckily Bf double ordered for HH deal so I had the clean one while we waited to be checked in on to no avail. Beau had to wave down a server but 20m after a manager/owner ((it's unclear) she was casually dressed not in uniform like the servers.) but This woman came by and checked in we told her about the stain, she took the dirty glass, asked our drink and we get brought the wrong drink. Spicy Marg : 2/5 sips light refreshing and with a hint of spice not too overpowering. ($12) Bloody Mary: Beau thought it was ok would not order again.($10) Overall the experience felt dismissive and disorganized. We love to go for an experience, the ambience/atmosphere was great but the service we received ruined the experience, as the Idiom goes, IT LEFT A BAD TASTE IN MY MOUTH. Ratatouille never arrived, we gave plenty of time and grace, decided to Cancel our order and request the check. Note: When we arrived the hostess said "it's just us two" so I gave the benefit of the doubt, on another occasion I would have left to avoid a situation like what we experienced, I understand. Server walking back and forth till we pulled him to our table to take our order, mind you the place was empty (now I know why!). Plopped himself next to us, no introduction, no questions, just stone faced. We ordered, he didn't write a thing down, very confident. Placed a simple order. Food came, wrong order. He takes it from in front of me and leaves without a word. I wait and wait, eventually ask if my food is still coming, did he place the wrong order? "Yeah, your food is coming, yes wrong order". There was no "sorry if this isn't your order, there was a mixup" or something, ANYTHING. Food eventually comes, suddenly we have a different server, again no explanation. Food is mid at best. Dessert as an apology or something is out of the question, they've never heard of such a thing. Safe to say I regret wasting my money here, and it makes total sense why it's empty all the time. Don't bother, take your money somewhere else, there are so many great restaurants in Lower Village Montecito, this one is definitely a Must Miss!

It is worth mentioning that it takes a little time and is a little challenging getting to the restaurant from the valet area, for those who might be a little physically challenged or slower moving. I do believe that they have an elevator to take you down to the restaurant level though! Reservation-wise they have two options, the four course Prix Fixe menu (which I chose) and a three hour Chef's Tasting Menu. For my menu, I was able to select from about 3-4 options in every course, and there were some available add ons as well. I loved the La Mora Messicana NA Cocktail, it paired nicely with all of my dishes and still felt fun and margarita-esque. Of all the dishes I ate during the evening, the standout for me was the Yolk Gnocchetti Sardi Risotti with Stephanie's Uni Santa Barbara Abalone, Yuzu, and Caviar. It somehow combined all of my favorite things and made what felt like a comfort dish, but elevated. The Chef's Bites at the beginning and end were also delicious, I loved the little blueberry tart. When our Lyft arrived, employees rushed over to open the doors, and when we asked where the restaurant was, the front desk employee actually stepped away from the desk to personally point us in the right direction. The walk to the restaurant is a bit long since it overlooks the beach, but it was a beautiful night and ended up feeling relaxing and special. (Particularly on the way back when we were full from the tasting menu) I just wouldn't wear uncomfy heels. One interesting touch: we overheard the hostess offering another couple the option to put their phones away for the evening so they could fully experience dinner distraction-free. I ended up keeping mine away too and honestly enjoyed being more present during the meal. As a side note, another couple took photos of every meal and there didn't appear to be a stigma regardless. We did the tasting menu, and our waiter was fantastic with recommendations. All the staff was great, honestly. What stood out most to me compared to other Michelin-starred restaurants I've visited was the focus on seasonal ingredients and vegetables. That night featured Harry's berries and asparagus throughout several dishes. My favorite was probably the burrata with Harry's berries and rhubarb. There are quite a few optional upgrades throughout the tasting menu, including caviar and upgraded steak options, but we only added the chocolate bar selection at the end, which was excellent. I also appreciated the atmosphere. You could hear the waves crashing through the open doors, but it still stayed warm and comfortable inside. The noise level was lively without being overwhelming, and the recently added piano really elevated the experience. Some dishes seemed to sing to the symphony. Overall, I wouldn't say it was the best meal I've ever had, but I absolutely would return. Several dishes highlighted the ingredients so beautifully that I'd love to come back during another season to try a different menu. Solid experience and felt more or less felt worth the price.

From the stunning grounds to the impeccable service and beautifully executed food, the entire experience feels luxurious without being pretentious. If you're celebrating a special occasion, it's hard to imagine a better setting. I chose Stonehouse for my birthday this year, and they made the evening feel incredibly memorable. Our server, I believe her was Amy, was absolutely fantastic. she was warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made me feel celebrated throughout the meal. It's the kind of hospitality that elevates an already wonderful dinner into something unforgettable. I ordered the lychee mocktail which was refreshing with a perfect balance of sweetness, and my server smoked it table side for me. It was such a thoughtful gesture for my birthday. We started with the assortment of fresh breads served alongside really high quality olive oil, which were delicious on their own. Shortly after, we were treated to an amuse bouche which was a delicate whipped lobster nestled inside a slice of cucumber. It was light, elegant, and a wonderful way to begin the meal. The Grilled Yellow Peach and Burrata Salad was another standout. The sweetness of the peaches paired beautifully with the creamy burrata, creating a refreshing and well balanced appetizer that felt perfect for the season. For our entree, we shared the Beef Wellington for Two, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The pastry was beautifully golden and flaky, while the beef was cooked perfectly and remained incredibly tender. The sauce also made it very pleasant. Every component of the dish felt thoughtfully prepared. It also came with the Signature Mashed Potatoes. It was unbelievably rich and indulgent. At first it seemed a little watery, but after letting it sit for a few minutes, it thickens slightly and became perfectly smooth and velvety. By the end of dinner, I was completely satisfied, but they had one final surprise for me. The team presented me with a beautiful birthday dessert, a thoughtful gesture that perfectly capped off an already exceptional celebration. Beyond the food, the property itself is breathtaking. The beautifully landscaped grounds and elegant dining spaces create an atmosphere that's both romantic and timeless. Every detail feels intentional, making the experience feel truly special from the moment you arrive. Stonehouse consistently delivers one of the finest dining experiences in the Santa Barbara area. Between the impeccable service, outstanding cuisine, gorgeous setting, and thoughtful hospitality, it's a place I find myself returning to time and time again.

We went back a few weeks ago, for Matt's 43rd birthday, and found a completely different restaurant. I guess at some point, San Ysidro Ranch went all-inclusive, and Stonehouse started serving a mostly captive clientele: hotel guests who've already paid for dinner. This is fine if you're staying at the Ranch, but if you remember The Stonehouse as a fancy special occasion restaurant with a high level of service, your impression is out of date. The astronomical prices may suggest otherwise, but keep in mind that most diners aren't really paying those anyway. We went on a drizzly Tuesday night and sat inside, missing out on the scenic patio. The dining room was nice, though, very stately, and as parents ourselves, we were not put out by the number of children in the room, the families sitting down for a casual weeknight dinner. We were surprised, though, when we tried to order drinks and our waiter asked to see our IDs. My husband presented his license, which showed very clearly that it was his 43rd birthday. The waiter had no comment on this, and instead turned his attention to me, Matt's 40-year-old wife. I didn't have ID on me, and he refused to take my drink order. We weren't about to have an expensive birthday dinner without alcohol, so we got up to drive home and pick up my license. But first, I decided to try my luck with a manager. Because look, I understand that I should've had my wallet, but also, I hadn't been carded at a restaurant in years. I told this to the manager, and suggested they tell customers in advance to make sure to bring ID. Instead of explaining that he needed to be careful because The Stonehouse served families with teenagers, he said it was the law, and that every restaurant should be carding aggressively. This was so disingenuous I more or less asked if he'd ever been to a restaurant. I also offered to show him a scan of my passport and the picture Matt and I took at The Stonehouse the night we got engaged in 2012, well after I turned seven. He relented, and we were reseated without having to produce my license. I didn't hold any of this against our waiter, but we were assigned a new one anyway, and received middling service for the duration of our meal. For one thing, we asked for help picking a bottle from the massive wine book, and it took the somm an actual half hour to pay us a visit. We were done with our appetizers and had checked in with our waiter twice by the time he made his way over. The other annoyance was that no one acknowledged Matt's birthday, despite the time we spent litigating birthdays, during which I mentioned quite pointedly that we were there for his 43rd. I even told a server who checked in on me before dessert while Matt was in the bathroom, and he said he'd make sure there was a candle in our tart. Not the end of the world, but this did not happen. The drinks, when we got them, were great, starting with cocktails, which almost tided us over until we received our wine. These were $33 a pop and kind of ridiculous, smoked tableside with a showy gadget. The Negroni Tropicale was made with grilled pineapple-infused No. 3 dry gin, Campari, Carpano Antica, and orange zest, then smoked with pecan wood. The French Quarter mixed Bardstown Ferrand Cognac-cask bourbon, Zaya 16-year rum, Benedictine, oloroso sherry, dry vermouth, and orange bitters, and was smoked with bourbon oak wood. For wine, we got a bottle of 2020 Vietti Monvigliero Barolo. This was excellent, and also a bit of a win. The bottle was barely marked up from retail, and we'll never know if The Stonehouse has exceptionally favorable wine prices or we were served the wrong vintage on accident. Food was solid, starting with Maine lobster salad in tiny phyllo cups, a nice welcome bite. Bread basket came with pumpkin seed lavash pumpkin seed, sourdough, and rice flour rolls, with olive oil for dipping. We enjoyed a half-dozen oysters with pickled Asian pear mignonette, and Japanese yellowtail crudo with pixie tangerine, purple radish, seagrass, and shiro dashi vinaigrette. Acorn squash agnolotti were lovely, with black truffle, toasted pecans, morel mushrooms, and a goat cheese fondue. The duck a l'orange came with a show, the sauce flambéed tableside on portable burner. A lot of magic tricks on this menu, perhaps for the kids. The duck breast was good, though, over barley pilaf with Tokyo turnips, herbes de Provence, Cara Cara orange, and Grand Marnier. The herb-crusted rack of lamb was decent too, served with lamb sausage, Tuscan kale, crispy polenta, and violet mustard. For dessert, we shared the orchard Meyer lemon tart with blueberry compote and wildflower honey and lavender Chantilly. The food was a strong A-, but not worth the money or the sub-par experience. Unless you're staying on property, avoid The Stonehouse.
