My friend finds the fact that they specialise in properly measuring children's feet reassuring and the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. The little man getting new shoes is a typical four year old, he wasn't that impressed at having to pick up new school shoes. However, the member of staff that served us seemed well trained with children and dealt with any issues calmly, with a sense of humour, and got the job done. They stock some great brands (Start-rite, Hush Puppies, Lelli Kelly, Geox, Skechers, Ricosta, Rainbow, Kidorable) and offer high-end children's shoes for school or best occasions. I was a bit stunned by the price but this is Knowle and these shoes seem the best that money can buy.

They stock the shoes which name escapes me, but they have a little toy inside the bottom of the shoe which makes them a big hit with kids! They not only do school shoes for kids but boots, trainers and party shoes. All are wonderful quality and last longer than buying shoes which are cheaper elsewhere - my mum would be proud if I told her I had managed to hold onto her focus on how important getting top quality, well fitting shoes are for childrens growing feet!

They have a good range of shoes at reasonably decent prices, although I will say that whenever I have purchased their school shoes they do tend to look tatty really quickly compared to some cheaper brands and that is even after buying their specialist shoe care. Also although they say they fit most types of feet if your child is a H fitting you will find it next to impossible to find a decent pair of trainers, everytime we go into this store we come away empty handed as they have virtually no range of H fitting shoes for children. The staff always apologise but it is frustrating having to go a size up to get the extra width especially in a store that prides itself on providing good shoe fitting.

The store is small but bright and colourful, i have not been in for a couple of years but they used to have a fish tank in there, which my children loved staring at while we waited our turn. The prices are on par with clarkes, so they are not cheap, but you get what you pay for and thats definatly quality when it comes to nikki lu's.

Upon return to Niki-Lu's she was disappointed that the shop took no responsibility for its original shoe sizing and made no effort at compensation for the situation, despite my daughter intending to buy two new pair of shoes.. To avoid confrontation my daughter declined to make the further purchase from Niki-Lu's and went to Clarkes instead. A sad outcome that could easily have been avoided by a little service from Niki-Lu's.

You can pick up a decentish pair of school shoes for around the ten pound mark, ok so they are not going to last for any vast amounts of time but with how quick kids feet grow its ideal. They dont offer a shoe fitting service so it is pretty much trial and error and you do have to rely on self judgement and the word of your little cherub that they are comfy but all in all good value for money. The staff here are friendly and if your after a certain pair of shoes in a certain size will do their best to locate them for you even if it means trying another store.

They are not the cheapest shoe in town but are of good quality and the staff are helpful and know how to measure your feet etc too. Some of the shoe styles would probabaly suit a more mature lady. but they do cater for all ages. They have mens shoes too, also of high quality and a good range. They do a good range of kids shoes. All shoes suitable for small feet at school, etc. It is a great place to get kids shoes as kids feet should be in good shoes.

It now has a moderately large shop selling the usually clarks shoe/trainer ranges. The staff are helpful and its great for school kids shoes too. They have lots of styles of shoe available now for wide and narrow feet and all inbetweens. They sell many makes of shoe too , not just their own. This is also a great addition to the clarks stores. I always went to clarkes with my mum when i needed new shoes for school and would recomend them highly. The staff know what they are talking about and give great advice. They dont try to palm you off with something you dont want or wont fit properly. Top marks for a high flying shop with great staff and potential!

Average age in the store is approximately 75. They seem to be trying to target the younger age group but aren't doing very well. I felt positively paediatric. I was waiting ages and ages to be served and when they eventually stopped ignoring me, they didn't have my size. Great! I tried on the too-small ones so that I kind of knew which size to order online. At the time of ordering there was a 3 for 2 so I chose a pair of shoes for a wedding, a pair of boots and a pair of work shoes as well as a pair of purple sale shoes. Delivery is £3.95, regardless of size of order. Returns are £2.99, exchanges free. They emailed me a while later saying their website stock was wrong and the work shoes would be delayed by a couple of weeks. When part 1 of the delivery arrived, it did *not* contain my purple shoes but instead some hideous green Granny type horrors. That was an annoying trip to the post office that I could have done without. The shoes they erroneously told me were in stock were delayed again and eventually showed up maybe a month after my order. Meanwhile, they'd tried to tell me that I made the mistake. I didn't. I didn't like them so decided to return them. My refund was...zero. Apparently they decided that it was my "free" pair and therefore I get nothing. I'm sure that could be argued, but most decent companies will refund the average price paid. In fact, I even have a Primark (Primark of all places!) receipt in front of me saying they do exactly that. Customer services were unhelpful and just don't care. There is no such thing as goodwill or customer retention in their operations. They just can't be bothered. Take your money (for the overpriced shoes) and run. It's Hush Puppies and Clarks for me from now on. Cheaper, equivalent quality and far superior service.

The shop happily accepted the 6 returns and were pleased I had found what I wanted. When I returned the shoes there was an offer - 2 pairs of sandals for £95. I bought 2 pairs, each separately would cost £75. What a bargain, and they're soooo comfortable. Oh, and I am definitely NOT over-the-hill - the shoes are modern wedge sandals in attractive colours and material!
