They went great with my OP (Ocean Pacific) checkerboard hat with the flaps down the back. IT WAS 1985 PEOPLE. Flash forward to today. I was over in Southlake at the square and there happens to be a store. It's hot out and I just wanted to cool down for a few minutes. I went in and was surprised how much is different. It's not just checkboards anymore. They do have them, but lots of solids and different materials. Hemp, denim, suede and even lightweight materials them make them super comfortable. The prices were pretty decent as well. $30-$80 range for men and the kids shoes were in the $20-$40 range. Those were a little steep if I wanted to get shoes for a four year old, especially since her boat feet (which she inherited from me) grow so fast that it makes your head spin. They had lots of clothing and for the skateboard crowd many choices for decks, wheels, etc. Friendly staff and if I had the time and the money at that moment there would have been at least one new pairs of kicks for me. I purchased a pair of Brooks sneakers from Bear Creek Running Company in Keller back in January. I…read morewill say this upfront -- they were probably the most comfortable sneakers I've ever owned. That said, in less than 90 days, a hole worn through the toe area. Full disclosure: I do walk about 36 miles a month. I went into the store and showed the damage. The two young men working there at the time were twin brothers. They actually suggested I use duct tape to cover the hole. Honestly, hearing that regarding a $145 premium pair of Brooks sneakers was pretty shocking. My wife had given me Mark, the owner's, contact information. I called him, and to his credit, while he was not too pleasant on the phone, he did seem concerned. He asked me to come back to the store on the day he was going to be there and said he'd work something out regarding a return or credit. When I arrived at the retail store to return my torn sneakers, a nice young man named Jonathan helped me. They didn't have another pair of Brooks available, which honestly I was hesitant to buy again anyway after this experience. He then brought out a pair of black New Balance shoes that were actually more expensive than the Brooks. I explained that Mark had said they would work something out regarding the torn sneakers. Jonathan walked to the back, spoke to Mark, then came back and told me they would only give me 50% credit -- and they had to keep the original shoes. I asked if I could at least keep them to use as yard shoes since they were only offering half credit, and he said no, he could not do that because they would be returning the shoes to the manufacturer. So I declined the New Balance shoes and left. Here's the part that really stands out: I called Brooks customer service directly. Patrick R., a Brooks running specialist, simply asked for the numbers on the tongue of the shoe. No photos. No argument. No hassle. Brooks immediately agreed to send me a replacement pair based purely on customer service and standing behind their brand. What truly bothers me is this: The store most likely could have returned the damaged shoes to Brooks themselves and received full credit/replacement exactly like I did, yet they only offered me 50% credit while trying to steer me into a different, more expensive shoe that wasn't even close to the style I originally purchased. Mark, here's a little advice:When you operate a local retail business in a community like Keller, Texas, and you carry premium brands that stand behind their products, your store should do the same. Shame on Bear Creek Running Company for the customer service I received. People deserve to know the difference between a company that stands behind its customers and one -- Bear Creek Running Company -- that doesn't.

I was shopping around for some new work shoes with my 2 children. My daughter (6) tells me she needs to use the restroom and goes to ask the associate working for permission. She returns to tell me the woman refused to let her use it giving the excuse that she was by herself and couldn't leave the floor. The "manager" as she calls herself comes over to explain her reasoning. I reply that I will escort them to the restroom (was planning to anyway) so she wouldn't have to leave the floor, she still refuses. Mind you this restroom is 3 steps into their back room! Every place I shop I expect to be able to use the restroom especially for my children. I find it unacceptable customer service to treat children like that saying they have to go next door (to a competitor) to use the facilities. My family shouldn't be inconvenienced because of their staffing issue. I won't be back to this location again.

Now, you have to be cool with every basic chick carrying your bag, but they are nicer than a Dooney in my opinion. If you are a guy, your wife will probably love these. Great gift and it's way cheaper here to buy one. You can get a Kors at TJ Maxx for $99 to $150, but you are at the mercy of what they have. If you come here, there's ALWAYS a sale, and all my bags have been between $110 and $150, so if you want the newest styles you should come here. Also they have the matching wallet to all bags so if you are extremely weird like me, you'll want the matching wallet too. As for the sales, they vary. If you go around a holiday, you'll get more. I bought one at 20% off plus an additional 20 off that day. Last night because of Easter weekend both MK and Coach were doing 60% off plus 20% on purses and wallets. To make it easier, I'll just tell you they mark the purses up depending on the sale, so Holidays will get you about a 20 to 30 percent discount over a regular sale. Coach (in case you were wondering) purses are priced about the same, and I always look there too since it's right across from here. Most purses there will be around $130 to $170, so it's a tad bit more than an MK, but if you like plain leather Coach is a classic. I'd feel remiss if I didn't point out the reason I've had three MK bags: I've actually had four, and the first was maybe 2.5 years ago. The straps on these purses are notoriously awful. After a half a year, they started breaking down, so any person who's owned a nice bag knows that means the straps loose the outside leather adhesive and start to fray. The first time, I contacted MK and they had me send my purse in and they ended up keeping it because they said it was defective. They gave me $150 credit, which was awesome because it paid for my next purse and half the wallet! I came here and picked out a replacement and got a bigger bag to carry not only all my crap but also my laptop. Less than a year later, same thing happened. Long story short: MK bags have crappy straps. I did a repair myself using leather adhesive and purse paint but that doesn't hold up long. Good news: MK will fix your bag typically for free if you have a receipt, so make sure to get it emailed to you at checkout. Easier to keep up with. Just know a lot of times they'll keep the purse and give you a credit that's typically the amount of the purse. So if you are attached to that purse, don't send it in. Instead take it to a shoe repair place and they'll repair it for around $50. I keep buying them because the customer service is great and the sales here are awesome. If you are in the market for MK or Coach come here. Way cheaper! I'm pleased with my first Kors purchase. I went in today just to look and ended up with a nice purse and matching wallet. Sales associates are friendly and not pushy. I told her what styles I like and she showed me several. I'm most happy that this location runs HUGE sales; today the same purse I was looking at Macy's at for $350 was on sale and 40% off, brining it down to $160. For $250 I got a cute big purse and matching wallet. I'm not a fancy purse person, but I've seen these purses go for much much more. If you are in the market for a Kors purse, I'd go here.
