We have an awning on our house that was placed by Clarksville Awning Co. many years ago, before we owned the house. It has become weather-worn, tattered, and faded (as one would expect over many years of use).
We contacted Clarksville Awning Co. to come out to the house and look at the existing awning so that we could get a quote on replacing the fabric. The metal structure itself is perfectly in tact.
After a few calls, an employee came out to look at the awning (without any call or notification that they were coming). A few weeks went by and we never heard back about a quote, plan of action, etc. We really wanted to use Clarksville Awning Co., since they were the ones who installed it in the first place.
It has been several months now and we literally never heard back. We have called and gotten mixed messages or no communication at all.
I decided to take matters into my own hands and researched how to replace awning fabric. I called Clarksville Awning Co. on a Saturday to see if they sold replacement outdoor canvas fabric by the yard. A female answered the phone. I asked my question. She replied with a short, irritated, "Yes, but we are closed on the weekend so you need to call back on Monday."
Clearly I understand that every business has certain times they are closed. This is not the issue. The issue is customer service, or lack thereof.
I wasn't trying to be a bother. I have been trying to give Clarksville Awning Co. my business for months, giving them the benefit of the doubt, but today has proven that, for whatever reason, they really do not want my business. read more
