I just learned about Classic Loot this week and had to go check it out. It's a shop in Japantown with new and secondhand items, like men's and women's clothes, purses, jewelry, Sanrio merchandise, plushies, crafting kits, greeting cards, and more. It's very cute and very clean, and doesn't seem like a thrift shop at all. The young woman working there was friendly and helpful. I saw lots of little things I wanted to buy, like the tiniest Labubu I've ever seen, but didn't end up purchasing anything. Most of the clothes and accessories for females seemed targeted toward young people, but I'm glad I stopped in and checked out all of their cute loot. Our first visit to San Jose's JapanTown. The Wife spent more time here than I was expecting for this kind of shop, since there were so many cute clothing options for her. She bought a flowered skirt that looked like 1968, but new. The sales girls were super friendly and encouraging, and there were plenty of unusual things for me to look at while she shopped. I learned about Smiskis figures, for instance. They have a bunch for trading only, and they also sell several other collectible figures. Not my thing, but interesting. This was my first time here since they reopened/moved and man I've been missing out! I loved all their organizing sections and the way everything was organized but clothing materials and then colors. Very clean and organized! Great prices and some new off brands clothes too. I bought a fleece skirt and wannabe suede tube top. Both pieces were $20-$22, but such a great deal! I lived that Baby Phat jacket too, but it was too small for me! Damnit! There's also a men's area towards the back of the store also, so make sure to check that area too! There were two employees working, when k went in on that weekday, make sure you bring coins or just pay via credit card to park, since all of Jtown charges for parking. I will definitely be back! $50 for an outfit I love! I can't wait to go home, wash it and wear it! I came here for the first time recently with a friend and had the best shopping experience! First of all I rarely find a store that has a majority of items in my style nor do I usually purchase something on my first visit. The store was clean, affordable, and the service was exceptional! It was mildly busy at the time we came in and there was only one worker, Sydney was absolutely amazing and so helpful while continuing to keep an amazing attitude! I promised I'd share my experience about selling clothes. Unfortunately they didn't want any of my clothes but recommended I try Crossroads Trading Co. I guess the clothes weren't trendy enough but oh well. I just decided to donate them as I don't have all this time to shuffle back and forth to stores. I still love this store! Now they have extended hours for the summer and close at 8pm. I appreciate that as I can swing by after work. Some of the styles may be too young for me but some of them I can make work. At the price point of $28 for a sweater cable knit long skirt, I can't argue with that. I'm actually going to pop in sometime soon to see if that skirt is still there! read more

I've been here twice, first time two years ago and again very recently. lovely atmosphere and the general style and selection of items is very cute and trendy! i loved the variety. the employees were really sweet and approachable. i have bought a total of two tops and one belt here. the tops were great and i have had no issues with durability and the quality is pretty great. however, i was a bit suspicious of the weight of the belt after i had came home and checked only to realize it's an aliexpress belt i had bought for over 5x the price :( the employee had mentioned that it was one of multiple they had sold so it made me wonder a bit how it was sourced. i don't want to blame the store at all as im unsure if they knew but i would really advise double checking a product before committing to a purchase.. read more

Arrived here with my friend around 5 pm! The store was modestly busy with customers browsing through the clothing and 3 associates watching the store. Love how there's so much cute decor from pop culture like a claw machine, Sailor Moon neon lights, and Sanrio stuffed animals all around. I would definitely bring my tween sister here since the vibe caters to her demographic of cute Sanrio clothing to edgy jewelry. It's a moderately sized venue with 90% women's clothing and 10% of men's clothing in the corner of the shop. The men's clothing had majority of anime tees, few jerseys, some dress shirts, and jackets. I loved though how the clothes rack was so color coordinated. This 90s themed small business has a variety of current and retro themed items, while also carrying items from local small business vendors/thrifters. They recently added a claw machine and holiday decorations, which was pretty cute! You can make an appointment to sell items; however, they're very particular about which items they accept. (During my last visit, I brought 2 bags of my old clothes to try to sell, but none of them were accepted because they were summer items and it's currently winter.) went here yesterday, and a lot of the stuff they have is from aliexpress, i had seen a necklace that i had really liked, and it seemed familiar to me. it was also 20$, my friend had gotten it, but it broke as soon as she got it. upon further investigation my girlfriend said that it was one that she had, and that's why it was familiar to me. i think it's very scammer and shady. very poor service, and extremely overpriced for what they are "selling" edit: i had also seen stuff from the DOLLAR TREE. being sold at 5 dollars.. very scammy. save your time and money and go to a savers, or a goodwill read more

Very un polite customer service. My wife was inside the store trying out some clothes, as soon as I walked in the two employees in the front looked at me as if I didn't belong there. I had a shaved ice from next door and I know ppl make a mess but I was just going inside to pick up my 2 year old when the lady said sorry you have to go outside in a very un polite manner, basically felt kicked out. I was telling my son to come to me so we can leave that unpleasant place. They rushed to tell me again as if I was making a mess with my shaved ice (which I wasn't) so I leave my 2 year old there while my wife is inside looking at clothes (at that point I didn't want her to spend time there since they didn't deserve our business very ungrateful personnel) Then this lady comes out and basically brings my son to the door and says your son is grabbing clothes please take him! I was done with them and left very upset. They did have a small table that I think said place your drinks and food there but with their rude tone and attitude I didn't even want to be there! I visit Japantown frequently, so I come to Classic Loot pretty often. The workers are friendly, and the atmosphere and aesthetic of the shop are really cute and trendy. However, everything in the store is overpriced. Most of their items seem to be bulk-sourced and marked up to inflated prices. You can find a lot of their accessories on AliExpress or Temu for way less than they're selling. Even the Sonny Angels are priced higher than I would have expected, which is disappointing because I would have loved to support the store if the prices weren't so inflated. I bought a hair clip here for $12, and it broke shortly after. When I went to Japan, I found the exact same clip at Daiso for just $1, which is honestly insane. The store is also pretty small, and once I had to wait about 20 minutes for a fitting room. Overall, it's a cute store, but the prices really turn me off. read more

Cute place and in a great location. Lots of cutesy items for sale if you're into that, which of course, my teenage daughter absolutely is. It's a thrift store to be sure so don't be surprised if your size isn't available! I'm in between 3 and 4 stars on this location for one reason only. Customer service needs work. We were browsing the store and no one had checked in with us, which, cool. But my daughter wanted to try on some pants and we went over to the fitting room and waited for some help. There was no signage that we saw indicating that we couldn't use the fitting room especially because it's right by the register and anyone could come over and check us in. While she's trying on these pants, an employee comes over and asks "did you happen to check in with anyone to use the fitting room?" and of course I am confused because...I was waiting for a while. So I said "no, unfortunately there's no one on the floor and I'm not sure who actually works here so she just went in, sorry." Her response was to ask how many items we had and to reply "next time you need help just come to the register and ask for one of us." One of...who exactly? And why is there no signage indicating I need to ask? And why is no one on the floor helping people shop? Why are we all huddled around not helping? Trust me, I used to work in retail so I do get it but when the store is busy...get to work babes! I also think in general thrifting is more expensive than it used to be. I didn't see too many amazing items that were worth the price they were asking for. All in all it's probably not a place I would frequent if I didn't have a teenager. But still cute. read more

I used to shop at their smaller location down the street... so I'm happy they moved to a much larger store with more space for merchandise. I recommend checking out their social media page (specifically Instagram) to get a better idea of what they carry. It's also fun to just window shop... you may even find something to get. The place is a freaking nostalgia trip with old school references and thrift shop treasures. They're a legit thrift shop too; they sell some great used clothing at very affordable prices - I found some things in the $1 bin that I could use. If you're into pins, this place has a great collection of pins from different local artists - some are cute, some are clever, and some are pop culture references. My favorite thing to check out are the accessories. Sometimes they get cute bags (like one shaped like a polaroid). They have fun earrings too... like ones with food references or ones with funny references like toilet paper. Some of the artists they carry have Pokemon designs as well. I even got a very cute Jolibee license plate holder, but they had others for Pocky, etc. Prices were pretty fair too. Support and shop local! IM DONE. SOLD. CRYING ROLLING TURNING TOSSING. This is my new FAVORITE STORE. I was hesitant to even post this review because i want to gate keep this hidden gem so bad. But you all deserve to know. They had the cutest unique pieces of clothing, from graphic tees, to fun bags, necklaces and even brands like Levi's, 1960's GAP, guess, coach, and more. What's even better is they have a lot of small businesses that they work with, which is the sweetest. Whoever founded this shop; you are a total fashion ICON. I feel like a mix of a celebrity and hannah Montana at once. Everything is organized by colors, and so many different styles are available. Even the cashier and everyone was very nice. I was walking to another store jn Japantown during the holidays when their Sanrio Christmas tree display caught my eye. They carry a bunch of Sanrio keychains, bags, slippers, accessories, etc. They also carry a wide variety of enamel pins, stickers, and croc charms. The clothes and bags weren't my style, but there were a few unique looking items. Overall, I would come back if I were in the area, but most of the items aren't of my interest and tend to be overpriced.
