When coffee shops add music to the mix, it typically involves unbathed hippies strumming weepy acoustic guitars and singing about their ex-girlfriends. If that's your jam, more power to you, but for those of us whose tastes run to louder, more upbeat extremes, Classic Rock Coffee is a welcome reprieve. And the aesthetic isn't an empty gimmick - the coffee is genuinely fantastic, and the selection of food and protein shakes available make this one of my favorite cafes to frequent. In fact, this place speaks to my soul on so many levels, it's almost like a team of psychics were hired to invent the concept based purely on the whims of my psyche. So much about this place is over the top. I'm just gonna have to make a list. 1. Single origin coffees that are ground and then hand poured in front of you. What?! 2. Pumps full of coffees that were hand poured too. 3. Beans are roasted on site in a roaster that looks like a drum kit. 4. Awesome flavored milk and espresso drinks. Even with the flavorings you can still taste the crema from the espresso. 5. Service that makes you feel like a guest instead of a customer. :-) 6. Yummy pastries made from scratch at a nearby bakery 7. ...and then there is the decor. Oh, my! The decor is straight out of a 40-something's realization that they are not going to be a rock star after all. I know this because I am married to a musician who is 40-something, in a band and not going to be a rock star so it's a good thing for that day job. This is by no means a negative thing! Don't misread! With enough creativity (and Classic Rock Coffee has it) this mini-crisis has become a masterpiece. Stage lights hang around the shop, amps are littered around the place, a row of guitars hangs over some respectfully hung vinyl sleeves that my husband the non-rock star/audiophile approved of. Drums and bass cases are turned into coffee tables, plush leather couches welcome you, board games and video games await. The bathrooms...um, you really just have to see for yourself. The music is loud but somehow not obnoxious and I've yet to have to hear stairway (thank you!). This is really like no other coffee place you have ever been to! Truly! Not trying too hard to be coffee snobs or hipster. Just some people who like their classic rock because that's their generation and who really have a passion for boutique, fine brewed coffees that will wake you up without giving you the jitters. read more

Massive coffee shop. In all of the shops I've been in around the states this is the biggest. They have music but it's not to loud for conversation. Blueberry muffin was fresh baked that day. Tons of blueberries. 12oz latte was well done. Milk was perfect temp. Stop by when you are near. read more

I tried to go to Classic Rock Coffee to study and have a coffee last night. They changed their hours and now close at 830. Huge disappointment and now I will have to look for a new place because this one isn't it. I will make sure to let others know now that it's not a student study friendly place anymore when you need to be out of the house or to meet up with others to study. I will not be back. read more

Their punch line ("Our coffee ROCKS!")is an understatement. Best coffee I have had in Springfield...EVER. I frequent shops around the area and they have got all the right stuff! Great staff, Great drinks, Cool atmosphere. I am greeted with a friendly hello and they don't have the arrogance I get from other Baristas in the area, they will share their knowledge and are eager to answer any questions with out that ' ARE YOU STUPID?' look on their face. Definitely try out their Cinnamon Girl latte or if you like coffee they have great blends and single origins, I like the Barracuda Bite, and recently tried a pour over of their Bali single origin. The Raspberry Beret is amazing! It's a nice place to spend time at. I went there on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't very crowded, nice to sit and work/read(probably only because it was a Sunday afternoon). As I suspected, this place is much better in the evening. My husband and I found it the perfect place to sit and relax with Americanos before hitting a late movie. We actually sat here listening to Pink Floyd and writing up our weekly grocery list, which I thought was pretty funny and very "us". There were a diverse mix of people in Classic Rock at night, which I loved. It was busy and had a great atmosphere with the laid back rock and funk being the perfect soundtrack. It reminded me of a bar where everyone's being chatty, productive, and of course sober. haha It has a nice decidedly non-pretentious vibe but it's not totally anonymous-feeling like the bigger chains, either. I find it a good middle ground. They have the coolest black lit graffiti-filled restrooms I've ever seen! MOST importantly the coffee was outstanding. And no toddlers at 10 pm, thank goodness for that... Loved it and will be back. read more

A spectacular atmosphere and really great drinks! I have never ordered anything here I didn't think was a 10/10. Their frozen coffee drinks are the best I have found in the city. The staff is really great and very helpful. It's a place you can relax and unwind as it is very roomy inside and you don't feel like you are practically sitting with the people around you. I really like this place. It has a really cool atmosphere and the people working are really nice. i have only been once but plan on making it my go to spot for coffee. They roast their own beans on location and that is also pretty interesting to watch, and makes the place smell pretty amazing if you like coffee. The atmosphere is really cool. The protein shakes were tasty but if you are looking for good coffee and baked goods then go elsewhere. If I could describe the taste of the coffee it would be "if someone made a pot of stale folders then let it ait all day then reheated it the next morning, this would be their coffee" I was actually shocked that they roasted their beans. It most certainly didn't taste like freshly ground and brew coffee. My friend described their soy latte as tasting like feet and the scone was hard as a rock. I've been here a few times and always been met with friendly and talkative staff, excellent crafted coffees, and a pretty delicious menu with vegetarian options. The lighting and atmosphere are a little much for my tastes, but that isn't why I go here. It is a cool place with decent (admittedly high) prices on fancy coffee and fresh food. You can really tell they went all out with excellence in the feel & look of the place. The coffee is right up there with the decor, outstanding & fresh. Great coffee! I've had Dirty White Boy & Sweet Emotion. But don't go there when you're hungry. While the food is tasty, the portions are teeny tiny for the price you pay. For around the same price, you'll get more food at their competitor, The Mudhouse. I prefer Mudhouse's raspberry vinaigrette dressing better too. But coffee at either place is good. read more
