Not a great first impression as from the moment I walked in it felt cramped and dirty. The staff…read moreseemed more interested in doing their own thing than their only customer in the shop, me. Floor it mainly sell wooden flooring so more carpet and rugs wouldn't hurt. You can get good value for money here as one box starts from five pounds. To be honest it felt like that was the only thing that makes this place worth going to. Now I'm not one to stereotype but woman aren't usually the best at DIY, in fact I'm clueless and not once were any of the men helpful! Instead I just got a casual greeting. I found that they provide a measuring service but not delivery, which is a shame!

The place is always tidy and well organised and the layout is easy to follow and the goods are well displayed, making finding what you want so easy. It has got a reasonabley sized showroom for kitchens and bathrooms, which is very handy to see when deciding which one to buy or which one not to. I like shopping their for our DIY projects and I prefer it to B&Q for the good value the offer for you.

The Project Manager was outstanding, managing appropriately our requirements and the range of crafts (i.e. tanking, plumbing, electricals, decorating, etc.) required to complete the job. We were particularly impressed with the candor/clarity from the project manager for a job we were not familiar with and the quality of the craftsfolk he brought to site. All subsequent documentation/guarantees were supplied immediately upon final payment ensuring that we had continuous insurance coverage. I would thoroughly recommend the Dampco team to anyone looking to professionally convert their basement.
DAMPCO undertook extensive work at my property on the recommendation of my builder. At first the…read morepipe taking water away from the property was sited so that it gushed out gallons of water several times an hour onto the pavement. It is a very busy street and I was legally liable for damage to persons or their property, eg. a woman passing by with a pram on her way to the school opposite the house. The builder finally got the owner of the company to come and view after missed appointments. He said the pipe should be re-routed and that was done. I paid the bill - around the £6,000 mark - immediately after completion of the job. However it then took 6 months for me to get a proper guarantee for the work. The reason this was important was that I had been told that the water pump needed servicing every 6 months and I wanted to ensure that I maintained the conditions of the guarantee. The builder thought that this was rather frequent so I made many phone calls and sent recorded delivery letter to ask about the need to service and the cost from DAMPCO. No reply ever. The company has refused to answer questions and has clearly not shown interest or consideration of customers or aftercare of their products. This is a company which, once it has your cash, you may as well forget about. Damp proofing is a long term and expensive piece of work to undertake so do not take any risks.

Their prices seem higher than most of their competitors, they regularly are out of stock of what you want and, if you can ever find a member of staff to talk to, they are often less than helpful. Even when you order materials from them, they are often delayed or missing parts or just plain wrong. Even the big DIY stores are a better option than here.
