By my count alone, Evan and his team have managed to cater close to 2 dozen events over the past 2 decades for my and my wife's family. From weddings to bris to shivas and everything in between, Evan and his team are almost a standard bearer for lifecycle events in the Central Jersey Jewish community. If you happen to have an event at B'nai Tikvah in particular, look no further then the live sushi station, Romanian grill, and passed lamb chops at the cocktail hour. We recently used Classical Caterers of North Brunswick New Jersey for our daughter and son-in-law's wedding. This caterer also catered our son's Bar Mitzvah 21 years ago. Obviously, we were extremely satisfy 21 years ago. We highly recommend this company, the owner is very professional and experienced in all aspects Of catering. The wedding was in October, 2021. Not only was this wedding during the pandemic, it unexpectedly poured on this day. We had to get a tent and make many other accommodations so our guests would be safe. Despite the added stress, the manager of our party, Evan, who is also the owner of the company, was calm and professional and helped the day to run as smooth as possible. We were absolutely blown away by Classical Caterers. Evan and his fantastic team made sure the day was beyond perfect. The cocktail hour was to die for! Everyone has not stopped raving about the food! The dinner was also incredible. They made sure to have a wedding cake that was exactly what I wanted (and tasted insanely good!) The most delicious kosher food! Evan and his team prepared the most amazing food for my daughter's wedding on 3/27/22. I can't say enough about how pleased we were - from the lamb chops to the made-to-order sushi, the Peking duck, the corned beef and pastrami, to the short ribs, the ahi tuna and the cookie bar, the food was outstanding. Very poor service plan. Beautiful salad on table. Immediately after motzi, dancing and activities. Return to table to discover untouched salad has been removed. Waitress says too bad. Then, we wait half an hour for the entrées which arrived mixed up and cold. Most of desserts come from packages and are not made on site. I had my wedding temple B'nai Tikvah, on August 4th 2018- The home base of classical caterers. I knew that classical caterers was good, but I have to say, they completely surpassed my expectations. If I can sum them up in one word it would be "perfect." Evan and his team run weddings like a well oiled machine. I didn't have to deal with one vendor upon my arrival- they took care of everything and made sure everything was just the way we had planned it to be. Before the wedding, Evan made sure to go over every detail with me and my fiancé and my family, giving his expert opinion in times where I was unsure, and listening to me and accommodating me in times where I wanted to deviate from the norm. Now onto the The food- also outstanding. My friends and family actually reached out To me the following days to tell me they've never had such good food at a wedding. The cocktail hour is absolutely phenomenal, with every station you could ever want as well as waiters walking around with your choice of 8 or 10 different things. People were amazed at how beautiful and how much food they were being served. Our wedding was even more perfect than we could have ever imagined. After looking at so many venues at the beginning of our planning process, it became so obvious why going with Classical Caterers was the way to go! This company catered my Bat Mitzvah thirteen years ago and it was so nice to see that it was still under the same awesome management. Evan is absolute master of detail and organization and ensures that everything goes smoothly in planning the wedding and throughout your day, alongside his wonderful maitre d', Robert, and bridal attendant, Violette. Robert did an incredible job keeping everything on time and keeping our families happy, while Violette was so attentive and calm throughout the entire day. She really went above and beyond to take care of us girls the morning of and until we left at the end of the affair. Evan kept in touch with us leading up to the day about contact with our other vendors and he coordinated all of them flawlessly. The food at cocktail hour was insanely plentiful and delicious. Although everyone was full after that, it didn't stop them from enjoying their entrees. We got so many raving comments about how perfectly the Chilean sea bass was done. No one thought the food could get any better, until the Viennese Hour. Even we were shocked! The variety of inventive, nostalgic, mouthwatering desserts is still the talk of the day among our guests. We then chose to splurge on the Bakery-to-Go and we are so happy we did. Our guests went home with huge cookies of their choice, Snapple, and bottled water! One of our bridesmaids joked she was going to convert to Judaism to have her wedding there! I had a wedding there and all my guests were happy. The food was good and the venue is very nice. HOWEVER, behind the scenes there was a lot to be desired. First there are all sorts of add-on fees including a service charge of 20% even though a tip is demanded over and above that amount. Also the bridal attendant was never in the room even though she was paid and had a garanteed tip of about $250. All she did was go out to smoke and kept leaving the door open and the gifts unattended. They also started taking down the tables before the negotiated end of the wedding while people were still dancing. They literally pulled the plug on the DJs before the time we paid for was up. Here is the WORST part: they don't test that everything is in working order before an event. Not only were the lights not working at first in the ballroom, the PA system was in and out during the ceremony and then eventually just gave out completely. Did you think there was recompensation or that they'd at least let us finish our booked time? NOPE! Since my guests were so happy, I've recommended other brides (including my niece) to the place with the caveat that they negotiate EVERYTHING with Evan and say no to an attendant. Evan has a way with nervous brides and their families but make sure you go over the charges twice or thrice. If you don't watch it, a kids meal of frozen fries and chicken fingers comes to over $70 with the service charge. He also charges full price for the meals for the DJ team and photographers. Great for the guests not so great for the bride but a shrewd bride might be just fine. read more

At first we were skeptical about having our wedding at a Synagogue, we wanted it in a New York City destination. My family has used Classical Caterers for every major event in our lives and that was without question our first easy decision, we knew the food was going to be incredible. We met with Evan at B'nai Tikvah to go over some details about the wedding, the venue was lovely, with a beautiful patio and my now husband pulled me over to the side and said "I could get married here". From that moment on we were "catered" to, everything we had wanted for our wedding was effortlessly done. There was not a detail too small or overlooked and we have Evan and his team to thank for the most perfect wedding we could ever dream of. In particular, the Romanian Steak station and Vodka Ice Luge at the cocktail hour were guest favorites. Evan and his team took care of us and our guests from the minute we walked in the door to take pictures until the last guest left. He made sure all of our guests received champagne while they waited for the ceremony to start, and had his staff hand out our specialty cocktails as they entered the cocktail hour. Also, the shots passed around the dance floor, and the desserts passed around were raved about. We have had so many people tell us this was the best wedding they've ever been to. What can I say? Evan is INCREDIBLE. He keeps you at ease with his calm demeanor throughout the entire planning process and then manages to help you keep YOUR composure during the wedding rehearsal/wedding itself. He'll likely create a custom cocktail for the bride and groom, as he did for us, along with suggest a combination of traditional and unique hors d'oeuvres (e.g.: tiny portion of chicken and waffles, duck cigars, steak and mashed potatoes served in a martini glass). He knows what he's doing and he does it perfectly; you can't go wrong with him. The food - all of it - is delicious. Our guests were raving about the cocktail hour food, so much so that they barely had room for dinner, which is no indictment of the dinner's quality, as it too was fantastic. Guests who don't keep kosher stated it was as good, if not better, than other non-kosher caterers. The sanctuary, cocktail lounge, and ballroom were all beautifully set-up and lit. Evan also handles the alcohol wonderfully, as he likes to keep the party on the dance floor by servers occasionally bringing shots to guests, rather than have guests step away from the party to head to the bar (and it also greatly reduces the likelihood of spilled drinks and any subsequent injuries from happening!). He'll also make sure all of the important marriage items (license copies, ketubah, gifts, bag of shattered glass, etc.) are contained together so that the bride and groom can party the night away without worrying about those things. I really cannot recommend Classical Caterers highly enough - the night was magical and it was largely due to Evan's work. read more
