However, class was cancelled without notice and I was recommended to start another class on a different day/time that doesn't work for our schedule. Then I was recommended to start private lessons with Ms Stella because it's more flexible. My husband went with my daughter for the first two lessons. After the first lesson, I was confused why she doesn't have any weekly homework. Then the teacher blamed my daughter who is 7 for not remember the homework and us for not going into the session to get the homework. Then recommended us to sit in the session next time. Then for the second session, my husband sat in but my daughter was distracted with him there and couldn't focus. Then the teacher said it's an issue with my daughter. I told the teacher I'll be there the third time. The third time, she asked me to come in mid way and told me she didn't start teaching my daughter anything yet even tho half the lesson is over. And asked me to sit in to point out everything my daughter isn't doing right. The entire time she had a look of distain and disgust because her hand shape isn't accurate or her fingerling isn't perfect. She said she wouldn't pass any tests. I let her know that I want my daughter to enjoy piano not be a pianist. I don't need her to take tests. And she looked at me and said that's what every parent says but they always want to take tests later. Anyways no words of encouragement in the entire session, no wonder my 7 year old doesn't want to play for her. As a teacher in a private lesson, I expect you to adjust your teaching to the kid since it's a 1:1 session. Why should the kid adjust to your teaching and you can only teach one way despite what level they are?? I contacted their management to request a new teacher and they responded they'll look into it. But zero resolution til 5 days later, at this point I was fed up with their nonsense and requested a refund. Bad teacher and bad management response, all 3 lessons were wasted with zero learnings. Why do I need to pay money for someone to treat my kid this way? Stay away unless you want your kids to professional train as a pianist

Then a cold email arrived saying class is canceled and so far no clear plan of what the new arrangement is. First they should have notified us before I found out the cancellation! Second they should make arrangement immediately if they have issues, we booked the class and paid in full. We are not responsible for their issues!

I believe the primary is piano, but they also have woodwind and brass teachers, vocal teachers, guitar and bass teachers, and probably more. I think it can sometimes be hard to know if a teacher is a right fit for us, and they're very understanding of that. Not all teaching methods work for everyone, and if that's something that's clear they are willing to accommodate. I took vocal lessons from FMMI for several years and my teacher was amazing. I've also heard FMMI is on the cheaper side when it comes to private lessons. So it's also honestly bang for your buck.
