Immediately we were welcomed and greeted by a friendly host, and was able to sit in the booths. My husband and I got the Croissant Breakfast and the Brisket Burrito, while my daughter got the Puff Cakes. I added avocado and bacon to the sandwich which i think was the right choice! I was hungry because I was fasting for my annual blood draw today so after getting that done I came across the street to eat. I've never been to a Claudines before and was excited to try after reading all the Yelp reviews. On arrival Mark is standing at the door greeting everyone and he is very friendly explaining how everything works, you can take a menu and either sit to think or go straight to stand in line to order. The line moved a little slowly for ordering because there was only one person at the register but that was ok because it gives you time to stare at the beautiful pastries to decide which one you want. After ordering they give you a table number, and it has a QR code attached to it in case you want to order anything else, they will bring it right to your table. I orderd the Zs Fried Chicken Sandwich which comes with russet wedges, a guava rose strawberry cooler, and a slice of passionfruit raspberry coffee cake. My chicken sandwich was delicious but unfortunately not very spicy at all and a little over cooked so the edges were burnt. I picked off the edges and I added the Hot Sauce by Claudine which made it taste allot better. The russet wedges were perfect so crunchy on the outside and soft and hot on the inside. The refresher is self served at the corner counter and it is very refreshing. I mixed mine half with the drink and half with water which came out perfect to my taste. For my dessert wow the slice of passion fruit raspberry coffee cake was generous and thick. I loved the soft moist consistency of the cake, and that it is not too sweet. As I was eating, I kept hearing this dinging noise over and over. I thought it's an annoying customer with their phone too loud, but I realize I think it's from the ordering area. I'm not sure if the noise signifies food is ready or something but it's pretty annoying after a while. The ding sound is a gentle sound but after you notice that it's going off so many times you can't stop noticing it. Whatever it is they should turn if off. My wife got the Newton's 7 AM Breakfast with an over medium egg, bacon, and hash browns for $17.95. She also added a single pancake for $3.50. I got the brisket burrito with no salsa roja because I can't have tomatoes, and I have to say, it was delicious, but it was also $20.95. My wife ordered scrambled eggs for the boys for $6.00, which they didn't eat, so I ended up eating them, like always. She also decided to get the boys the puff cakes. Apparently, they're like little pancakes sprinkled with powdered sugar on top, and the boys seemed to like them a lot. Those were $7.95. We also got miscellaneous pastries from the display to the right of the cashiers, each costing around five dollars or less. To top it all off, I ended up getting a cold brew coffee for my caffeine fix with light ice. I added vanilla and with extra pump in there, which came with an extra charge of $0.50 plus another $0.25. My bill before tax was $75.20, and after tax it came out to $82.52. I had to ask my wife, "Is that right? Does that seem right to you?" She said yes and told me she looked it over. That's just what it was. We tasted everything. My boys liked the puff cakes, my wife liked her breakfast, and my brisket burrito was very delicious. However, at $20.95 the burrito probably wouldn't be my first choice next time. The service here is very basic. You wait outside in line for them to find you a table, and once your table is ready, you walk up to the counter and place your order. They bring the food to you when it's ready. I didn't have any issues with this setup. The ambiance is your typical breakfast/brunch restaurant that opens early in the morning and closes early in the afternoon. I would definitely recommend this place to people who want to try some different breakfast items, but just be aware of how much everything costs. Maybe check the menu on Yelp beforehand to see if it fits what you're looking for. I would definitely come back again, but I'd probably make some changes to my order and leave out the pastries. Maybe pastries are better if you're just stopping by for coffee and a snack, but if you're coming for breakfast, you can probably skip them. It has big windows, which brought in a good natural light. There's indoor and patio dining, and you choose your own table. The service was very friendly and efficient, however, once the food is delivered we only had one person stop by to see if we liked our food. So not full service, which ends up saving us money, as the prices were very fair. We ordered the french toast (photo), child's scrambled eggs (photo), a side of toast and 1/2 avocado sides (photo) to make my own avocado toast. I also had their hot Chai Apple Cider (yum). Welp finally came to check out what the hype is about Claudine. I've always passed by the Encino one but never got the chance to go in so when I heard they opened up at Porter Ranch and way better parking I was like okay here's my chance for sure! So the way they organize it is you wait in line for a table, once a spot opens up then the line moves and they'll take your order and you pay there at the front. So it's not like you order then wait for a table. The ladies in front of us were confused and the host explained so that's how I heard how it works. The host was passing out menus too so we were ready order when we were up. I got the Turkey chorizo scramble which was not one of the top sellers but it sounded good and it was. The only thing was it may have been more like chorizo with eggs lol not enough eggs. It comes with three tortillas and potato wedges so I made myself a small breakfast taco. I also tried their Iced Vale Vale latte and yes it was yummy, nothing spectacular but it was good and a good size for $6 something. I would come here to get just the latte especially at that price. My fiance got the breakfast brisket burrito which is a top seller and I'd order too but for $20? I tried it though and it was flavorful because we noticed in some reviews that it lacked flavor but ours came out good with a lot of brisket. My mom got the mushroom toast with scrambled egg and it's def a top seller even though it didn't say it in the menu but the reviews do and I see why. The arugula salad it comes with was so delicious though! It was simple just with olive oil and lemon juice but I really enjoyed it! My dad got an omelette with chicken breast, zuchini and spinach and jack cheese and he really enjoyed it! Can't forget, I tried the churro French toast and that was delicious but I expected a little more churro flavor. All it is is cinnamon but the French toast was toasty and fluffy at the same time. I tried their maple donut and red velvet donut. I don't like cake donuts as much but I decided to try them anyways since I know they're known for their bakery items. The maple one was so good! It wasn't dry at all. The red velvet one was more like having a cake and too sweet but it was also moist and not dry at all. We sat inside and there's a small outside seating area as well. I wanted the slice but they brought me the muffin. I didn't care for that, but I tried some and I was disappointed with the lack of flavor. Located in a large self park parking lot, across from Islands. This being my first time here, it seemed a bit confusing as to how to order. Do we just go in, sit, and someone would come take our orders or do we have to go to the front and place our orders, and then go sit. The service was good, attentive young lady helping us out. Tried Claudine Breakfast in Encino and overall had a good experience. Parking is metered on Ventura Blvd, plus there's parking in the back, but it does get busy. They have a bakery section and all the pastries looked really good definitely planning to come back just to try more of those. For drinks, we got the vanilla iced latte and the vale vale iced latte. The vanilla latte was good, but the vale vale was a bit too sweet for me and heavy on the cinnamon. Food-wise, the truffled mushroom toast was sooo good. The spread they use is delicious and the mushrooms were perfectly seasoned. We also got the breakfast croissant, which was flaky and really tasty. Ordering is done at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Service was quick and everything came out fast. They also make and sell their own hot sauce called Lot 21 Hot Sauce by Claudine, which is a nice touch. Overall, a solid breakfast spot and I'd definitely come back to try more from the bakery. read more

Location 4: In the Porter Ranch Town Center's west end, near Island's, where Pieology used to be. Plenty of free self-parking. Venue 3: Contemporary and homey setting. Indoor tables and booths as well as outdoor seating with umbrellas. Quasi-waiter-service :D You line up, place your order, pay and get a table number. You manage to find a table yourself and sit down. A server brings your food. You refill your own water, drip-coffee and soft drinks: No follow up service from the waiter. One interesting and positive feature is that you can scan the QR code that is on your table number to add to your order after you have sat down, so you don't have to line up again. They are open from 8 AM to 8 PM on weekdays but close at 3 PM on weekends. As expected from the setup that I just described you cannot make reservations or join a waitlist, and I do hear that it gets very crowded on weekends! Service 3.5: The counter person who took our order was friendly, helpful and efficient. The server who brought our food was OK... not much interaction there. The busser who cleared our table was a little rushed and not particularly polite or courteous. Food 3: We ordered the Pumpkin Scone, the Brisket Burrito and the Breakfast Croissant Royale. I am sorry to say that all were about average and not memorable. Also pricing is on the high side for an "almost" self-service restaurant. Drinks 3.5: We had the drip coffee, the Cappuccino, the Macha Latte and the Chai Latte. All were as to be expected. They do offer Oat Milk as a substitute at no extra charge which is great. And they do serve low ABV (Alcohol By Volume) beverages such as champagne, mimosa and wine which would be nice for a weekend brunch or for some relaxation time after work. The Last Word 3.5: Claudine has been open for a few months now and has been getting rave reviews. We desperately need more breakfast/brunch places in Porter Ranch, so I do appreciate the patrons' enthusiasm. Unfortunately they did not meet my expectations this time around. Stopped by for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised! What I like about this spot is you order and pay before you get seated so when you're done you can get up and go. (You can still order more by scanning the QR code.) I got the breakfast burrito that had bacon and sausage. Very flavorful and was not lacking taste, also a side of crunchy hashbrown to go with it. They have freshly squeezed orange juice and a self served soft drink area. Get here early because it does get busy. Will definitely be back to grab breakfast. read more

I've never been to the Claudine's in Encino, but I've only heard great things, and now I totally see why! The Porter Ranch location has quickly become a family favorite. We visit at least once a week... sometimes even twice in one day! They do get busy, especially during prime times (like when the nearby church lets out on Sundays or during brunch), but the turnaround time for a table is always surprisingly quick, so don't worry about the wait. There are plenty of tables inside and outside. Everything tastes fresh, flavorful, and made with love. Our go-tos are the burger with those perfectly crispy fries, the avocado wrap, the French toast, and the Chinese chicken salad. Even their lemonades are delicious! I also love their generous rewards system It's super easy to use through Toast. Just ask the team member to enter your phone number and start earning points. A special shoutout to Mark and Lea for always being so kind and helpful with my loyalty points. Idk i expected the food to be better than it was, it was a bit underwhelming. The dish I got didn't have much flavor besides the sauce on it, and even then I had to add their hot sauce to give it a kick. It was pretty pricey too. Their pastries they had up front look delicious though, also their orange juice was the best I've ever had, it was definitely fresh squeezed but also $7! I also didn't like that it was an order/serve yourself type of place, I think if they don't have servers they should charge less for the food, but I guess that is just my opinion. Overall I think there are just better breakfast places unfortunately. Although I might come back just for that orange juice haha. read more

Came in for coffee, ordered the valé valé, but also order the maple donut and s'mores bite. Coffee was really good, maple donut had good flavor, not too sweet but was on the dry side and the s'mores bite was delicious. I came in late in the morning (10am ish) so their bakery options were light compared to what I've seen in photos, so that was a bummer. Definitely want to come back and try their breakfast and other bakery goods. Plenty of parking, plenty of tables inside and on the patio. read more
