2/4/2024 I had been wanting to visit this place since driving by it for many years. It's a bit out of the way so I kept forgetting about it. I was actually planning to go to Anthracite Mercantile. On my way there I found myself in front of Claypoole's. I loved the owners and perusing the store. They were friendly and helpful. There is an abundance of merchandise but the store is not organized. I found the items to be extremely expensive. February is make an offer- but I am not comfortable with this- it would be insulting. I found a vintage glass rooster priced at 24$- I found the exact same item at Studio 895 for 4$. That's a great example of what I'm talking about. It's a fun place to look around- but I'm not likely to purchase anything there. I don't like when retail shops price something ridiculously high and then offer a "discount". Even with said discounts you'll be overpaying. read more

Prices OUTRAGEOUS. I am an avid vintage shopper, this guy's prices were, at minimum, double other stores I've been to recently, and triple to quadruple eBay. Completely out of touch. read more

I am so over this place. So many items are overpriced on everything. Owners are always late when opening. They now open at 11 00am and are still late. Now has clothes and used appliances. May be a hoarding situation. Owner is a huge friendly storyteller but will monopolize you r time so you can't shop. Store is still very hot and crowded. read more

Prices are high. Elderly gentleman in a motorized chair let us know the prices can be negotiated, just give an offer. We did, based on online sales, and he laughed at us. Said he doesn't keep up with market value. He was asking 700 for something that sells consistently for 200. We offered 200 cash and he said he had turned down $500. We laughed the entire way out. I hadn't been to Lehighton in four years. Last time I was there at this building was empty. I was pleased to see it full of goodies. The two owners a man and his wife are very friendly. I saw a nice old CDR ROTOR BOX it's what people used to have connected to their roof antenna. You could move it in any direction you want to improve reception. It was in very nice shape. The gentleman gave me a good deal on it. I also found a CB radio System new in the box. He also gave me a good deal on this item. They'll be something that you can find for sure that you'll be happy with that this general store read more

I haven't even bought anything there yet but I will DEFINITELY be back. Stumbled upon this place on our way to the bar next door, Bonnie & Clyde's. In a day of age when antiques are charged a fortune for, this place is a mecca of awesomeness; throwback treasures for practically yard sale prices. As soon as I get my house, I know where I'm getting a bulk of the furnishings! Sweet elderly gentleman also seems to (own/run?) the place. read more

we were just there the day after Christmas. 90% of the content is Salvation Army /Good Will quality, which is'nt to say there is'nt a chance to find something cool. I LOVE those places and usually score big time. But the prices were VERY high for such a poor neighborhood {example, 25 dollars for run- of- the- mill Barbie dolls out of the box you can get brand new on Ebay for 10 bucks free shipping} Anything that smacked of an honest antique was really out of bounds, so I guess if you are within a short driving distance and feel like rummaging through a very crowded crazy, sloppy store that looks like they liquidate a lot of dead Grandma estates, give it a go. read more

Cool eclectic place to find rare second hand items, antiques in a large building. No pressure browsing, helpful staff when you have questions. Check it out. Parking is almost always available near the store. read more
