We booked this cruise in advance of our first trip to Waupaca. We had a blast. The Chief Waupaca paddleboat is a great way to see the Chain of Lakes, especially with someone as knowledgeable as Captain Malachi who made the trip so interesting and enjoyable. Afterwards we had a wonderful meal at the restaurant (the burgers were wonderful and so glad we went with the recommended sour cream fries--delish!) We are already planning our next trip with friends to experience the Clear Water Harbor Boat cruise. read more

The scenery was nice and the sunset was amazing, but we did not know we signed up for a guided tour we were under the impression that there was soft music and just enjoying the boat ride but the captain of the boat talked the whole 2 hrs giving us history of the lakes and we couldn't enjoy the peacefulness of the ride . The full bar was a plus but definitely was not looking forward to a guided tour !!! read more

This is a cute little harbor and you can take a boat ride on the Chief. On a nice day, it's a great ride to see the area and enjoy some fresh air. You can bring drinks from the bar on the boat and they have beer, wine, soda and water in the boat you can purchase. read more

Amazing boat ride especially the 7pm sunset cruise! It was a fantastic tour with drinks available on board. The tour guide was knowledgeable and funny. And the docking point is right next to their restaurant, outdoor kids playset, and ice cream parlor so there's plenty to do before and after. read more

The server we had was great .But when you have a group the bartenders acted like they didn't know what was going on .We booked in advanced .I asked if we needed tickets for the boat said no then went to the boat the Captain asked for the tickets.I had to go back in the bar and ask again .There's other people besides the locals that come in and the out of towners spread the word .Overall we all had fun and enjoyed ourselves The Captain was very informative. read more

It was a very hot day. The lake was busy with boats, swimmers, paddle boarders and wave runners. Most areas on the lakes are "no wake." The boat was full capacity. Not enough seats for everyone. Thankfully a couple gave up their chairs for us. Too many people on board even though it was still legal. read more

While waiting for the boat ride we decided to have lunch. My chicken sandwich was not good. The deep fried chicken was over cooked. I did not even eat half. I did not have enough time to have it redone. Thr fries were good. read more

The boat tour on the old paddle boat was lovely and fun. A little old school, which was just perfect and very reasonably priced. The captain was very entertaining and a great driver. Called and made a Reservation on the Big Chief paddle boat. When we got there, the woman tried to put us on the smaller, inside seating only, boat. I said that is why we made a RESERVATION. It is supposed to guarantee us a seat on the boat & time we chose. To no avail. She could NOT comprehend, and we just left. Pretty sad when the ticket sales woman does not understand what a reservation is. read more

This was a great tour of the Chain O' Lakes. Decently priced. Cash bar for soda, water, and beer. I really enjoyed the history portions but I especially liked that upbeat, fun music was played in between the historical facts. Made for a relaxing and fun 90 minutes. read more

We sat inside the boat to keep the bright sun off our heads. There were many open windows, so we got a good breeze. The sound system needs work; we couldn't hear the captain, so we didn't learn much about the lakes. What we did hear was interesting, particularly about why the water is so green. The only thing was, was that we had 6 children (2 being preschoolers, so we were down below by choice) and I had a hard time hearing the tour, I wished there were more speakers towards the back of the boat so I could have heard better. Go to place on the Chain o Lakes. Good food with outdoor seating. They have places for you to dock your boat or pontoon. They also run a cruse of the Chain that starts from their dock. On a nice day it is a great time. Indoor and outdoor seating on boat. (For those who don't want their hair messed up)! To top it all there is also a Ice Cream stand attached to the ticket office! Ok food, but my fish and chips were clearly like a frozen breaded fish wich was disappointing. They had this pizza cheesey bread with jalapeños and it was amazing!!! Restaurant is great. Food is top notch. Bar is excellent. Wide variety of choices for any taste of foods. Crowded at lunch and dinner. Best time to arrive is 11am or 4:30pm before rush. Ice Cream shoppe attached is a real treat. Choices are really nice. Harbor cruis is really relaxing. Bring a hat as it gets hot aboard the boat if on top. We were so excited to go on this cruise. We were told to depart on time and the boat wouldn't wait for anyone. We took off on time but had to go back to the harbor to pick up a straggler. HUM!. Bloody Marys were excellent but expensive as we imagined. Had a lovely cruise even though we got there early in the season. Colors weren't really changing there yet. We found this odd as colors are changing here in Racine. Was very disappointed to find out that the restaurant is closed. Wished we had know that. We could have done the Lake Geneva cruise instead. Oh well. The price is right, the boat driver was good. Just really disappointed in the restaurant being closed. They should tell you that before you buy tickets. read more

We took the tour 07/03/22 this is a very nice relaxing tour of the Chain of Lakes! My first time on the tour was back in 1976 and have been on it several times since. It is well worth the trip to Clearwater Harbor you won't be disappointed! Everyone is very friendly and helpful if you have any questions. I brought 5 people with me and it was there first time on the tour and they all loved it and would like to come back in the Fall and take it again. read more

Great location on the water, I was expecting great food and service. Unfortunately that was not the case. I sat outside was greeted by our server in a timely manner. Our server did not tell us her name and seemed to be in a rush. I put in an order for appetizers that came out 35 mins later and cold. Our server was not attentive at all. My glass was empty for a long time. The main food course came looking cheap and my steak was over cooked. I didn't want to wait another hour for a new one so I just let it be. We came in at 8:40 pm. The server (Kiah C) did not come to us for at least 10 minutes even though we were the only party seated at that time. When we finally ordered, she told us half of the menu items were no longer available because it was nearing 9 pm. We had two vegetarians in our group, so the choices became very limited and the only option for them was to substitute a burger with a Beyond Burger patty. She also never took our drink orders so we were sitting at our table for 30 min with no waters. Our server was extremely inattentive and was always seated at the bar, flirting with older men. The food looked okay. It tasted just okay. We ordered the Ahi Tuna nachos but the sauce got old pretty quick. The buns on the Mahi Mahi sandwich and burgers were cold, and the rest of the burgers were mediocre. The only good thing we ordered was the sour cream and chive fries. The worst part of dinner was the service we received. Aside from not being served for a large amount of time, the waitress seemed to think she could get cheat us out our change. We intentionally paid with cash because there was a credit card fee attached to the bill. So we paid with a $100 bill but the waitress gave us less change than we needed. She even counted out the change in front of us to make her act believable. When we brought this up to her she acknowledged her mistake a little too quickly for it to be non-intentional. She also never apologized. Would not recommend this place to anyone. It was generous of me to rate it one star. read more

Clear water harbor is a cute gem in Waupaca. The food is delicious and fresh & the atmosphere and views are incredible. There are lots of spaces for parking & many cute shops that are nearby to walk to. They have restrooms that are a little confusing -- outboard means men and inboard means women. They also have men/women signs, but those are kind of hard to catch above the doors as they blend in. The service was excellent, and I will be returning soon :) read more

We love the patio and sitting on the water. We went to enjoy a beautiful afternoon, have a bite to eat & drink a couple cocktails. The cocktails were delicious, however, our food was not great by any means. Mediocre at best. The scallloped potato & ham soup was greasy (yes, greasy soup). I had asked for cross cut fries before the meal & they were brought out with the meal instead. Not a huge deal, but it was over $4 and they were nothing fantastic. My spouse ordered the walleye basket. The first piece was all breading with barely any fish in it. Both of the pieces were way overcooked. I had a jerk seasoned tuna steak, but there was little flavor. When the waitress asked how the food was, we told her about the terrible walleye. She did ask if she could get another piece, but we declined- didn't really want another piece of bad fish. When we got the bill, I was a little put off that we were charged the full price for the meal. I would have expected that something would have been deducted or reduced off our bill. Going forward, we will not be eating here. We will go & enjoy the water, have a drink and find another restaurant to eat at. Sorry Clearwater. read more

Crazy dinner spot on the lake! Awesome place to drive up on your boat, the cool thing is you can even stay on your boat and they will bring your food out to you to eat there. The restaurant was pretty packed on a Saturday night, there was a band and nowhere to sit. But it was fun nonetheless. The food was good! We all got some sort of fish and everyone was very pleased! I LOVED the fish and chips, I was a little surprised to see 2 pieces of fish but with the fries it was just the right amount of food! Come here if your ever in Waupaca!! read more
